  1. That is so nice - I want one :) . A work colleague offered one of those in white to me back in 2002 for 30K which was cheap at the time. Sadly the insurance for it at the time was like 3K so I got the sportivo instead.
  2. Cost me about $65 to fill up the tank every fortnight because I can only drive 20kms a day. Lately I've been driving sis-in-laws company car - ford focus zetec 2.0 so petrols been free on weekends. The ford focus is crap in comparision to the corolla. The only thing good about it is the firmer suspension from factory, but at 6000rpm it has bugger all power.
  3. Small place in Surry Hills - Mohr fish do one of the best takeaway beer battered fish and chips. http://www.yourrestaurants.com.au/guide/?a...e_url=mohr_fish
  4. I've been thinking about the C-one on www.nengun.com. But dropping out of lift on the 1-2 changes would be my real concern with this mod.
  5. Check the sticker on the ecu to see if the serial no has a '1' on the end of it.
  6. Wow.. is this the first successful cai group buy on tocau ! Well done xploshun, I just wished you organised this 3 months earlier so that I could get on board. :)
  7. if no one is present at the delivery address they will try again but after a few attempts fail they will leave you a calling card for you to find time to pickup the parcels from your local post office. you would probably need to provide id since it is registered. name needs to match the consignment recipient so make sure the sender uses the right full name. yeh.. that is what the PO suppose to do... but i know that didnt happen for some people my frd bought a laptop from US.. one day after uni... he saw a parcel left outside his house! You'd probably want someone to be home for this parcel. Although it comes with a tracking number it doesn't come as a 'registered parcel post'. ie. it doesn't require a signature of the receiver if I remember correctly. Depending on the postman in your area, if they're slack they will simply place the parcel at your front door, press the door bell and leave. The tracking number is the consignment number, and can't really track the item like EMS can. With it you can call australia post quote the number and they can tell you if the parcel has arrived through customs.
  8. Just spoke to someone at xforce at they said the May shipment came in but they've sold out of s10's in 2.25". The guy said "Maybe they didn't order enough of them in" and they don't know when the next shipment is coming. Not sure it this person new anything at all, he did say he had s12's in 2.25 and s10's in 2.5" though.
  9. The TRD CAI comes with a 18 page manual. Follow the manual to the point where the photos don't make sense (because it's for an matrix xrs) then look at the current workshop submission photos for the TRD CAI install. Then go to the next step in the manual until completion. The only issue I think you'll have is the long trd pod filter and the face lift fog light. I'm not sure what clearances you have with this. But from reading other people's experiences, they have been able to put the pod up there with a bit of pod massaging. Does face lift sportivo have the white resonator box above the fog light area ?
  10. Paypal fees are charged in the currency conversion. Say we see .83cents buys 1 USD, paypal will do .81cents buys 1 USD. So most likely you'll be paying a little bit more.
  11. It's only a little noisy when brand new. Give it a couple of weeks of normal driving and it won't be noisy besides it's only noisy if you put your foot all the way down on the throttle so it's controllable.
  12. That's the same place where I got mine. But back then I paid about $430 AUD landed because I required shipping with a tracking number by usps. The seller wanted to ship by ups due to previous lost shipments to australia so it would have costed more $$$. There is one bracket that holds the cai to a bolt near the end of the fuse box that needs a little section cut off of it. In my opinion, that bracket doesn't need to be fitted because the other brackets pretty much keep the cai in place. I think someone here experienced some wires shorting out because this bracket has sharp edges and cut through the wiring in that area. A few other things to watch out for based on previous people's experience is to not tighten the clamps up too tight otherwise the rubber elbow will split. Buy some single sided adhesive foam tape from Jaycar and stick it down on the end of the cai tube where it rubs against the chassis ie. just above the pod filter so it doesn't wear a hole into the cai tube. The TRD Pod filter is quite long, it just fits on a pre face lift by a bit of force and pushing it up all the way up the tube and will rest on the fog light. I don't know whether face lift's white box will get in the way. All I can say is, given the price, you'll soon forget how much you spent on it because it'll put a smile on your face every time you hit lift. :D
  13. I was under the impression that the factory immobiliser was hard to crack at least by the average joe bloggs.
  14. I've had mine stolen as well. It happens quite often, just buy a stubby antenna off ebay and becareful where you park.
  15. Sorry to hear about this. Guess it's a case of being at the wrong place wrong time. :( What are the chances of it being a write off ie. not knowing the extent of damage, bent chassis etc...
  16. With the Power FC, do all other functions work as they do with the factory ecu eg. immobiliser, abs etc... ? Sorry if this has been asked before, but can't find it.
  17. Also try: www.domain.com.au www.justlisted.com.au Beware, driving and catching public transport can be quite overwhelming over here especially during peak hour. Don't give any money to the beggars that sit right in the middle of the busiest foot paths in the CBD.
  18. So if we put all the go fast bits, nice suspension, lsd, bucket seats into a sportivo, strip it of weight and go on vegie diets will we be competitive with a dc2r ? I've never been in a dc2r, but friends of mine have and said it's one of the best if not the best handling front wheel drive car that they've driven.
  19. I totally agree with you here. Once the panels and rubber trims are taken off the car and then reinstalled they don't seem to fit like it came from the factory. I've got the rubber piece on the base of the passenger window lifting off and the rubber between the side skirt and the car now has gaps. There is also small gap between the side skirt and front quarter panel which I swear was not there before. Looks like something wasn't tightened up as the bottom portion of the panel moves a few millimetres when pressed with my thumb. So yeah... it can get worse.
  20. A few people pulled out due to supplier not having stock and got refunded. Back then when I called them they said the next shipment was in April. I called again and spoke to someone else and they said the next shipment was in May. Perhaps someone should call them up for a definite shipment/delivery date now that it's closer ?
  21. I actually like the look of them, but can't bring myself to spend $300 odd on two bits of plastic. I'd rather put that money to more useful mods.
  22. Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll need to unbolt it and realign it. The head light base is protruding about 4mm away from the bumper and I think the panel beaters may have had a go at adjusting my headlight aim because it is completely off compared to the other headlight. I didn't notice it before because I had the headlight protectors on. I also had to reinstall my passenger side weathershield because the panel beater used crap mounting tape I'm finding that I seem to have to do a lot of re-work/checking after someone has worked on my car. What's going on here.
  23. Hi, I noticed that my passenger side front headlight doesn't sit flush to the bumper. If I roll my fingers from the bumper up to the headlight, the bottom part of the headlight sticks out more wherease drivers side head light is flush with the bumper. Is this an example of the south african build quality or is it a bad install from the panel beater ? I haven't had any accidents in my car, but the car was at the panel beaters to get resprayed after being keyed. I just need to know before I embark on taking the front bumper off to get to the head light to reseat it better.
