  1. Hmmm... its so hard organising it so everyone can be there... how does this time next week sound to everyone? maybe... Evo Evo we did say if it was on the 28th that we couldn't come right from the word go. Ahh well next time.....
  2. You need to make sure you have installed it correctly as it should easily fit onto the mounts in the right places. Having it float around unsupported isn't a good idea.
  3. Whats the latest info on this event?? Need to know if all is going ahead as planned as I will be coming back from holidays to attend so don't want to waste any time!!
  4. 28th rules myself, northy, azza and Jc out as we have already got an event on that arvo/night.
  5. From this point on all group buys have to be approved by moderators. Read buy and sell rules at the top of the page for what is required. I am receiving too many whinges about group buys not happening/working/ taking too long. thanks guys SB
  6. This group buy will be closed unless all the info required as per buy and sell rules for group buy is submitted to a moderator for approval first.
  7. This group buy won't go ahead unless it has approval from the moderating team.
  8. Sounds OK to us north of the border who are driving down..... North you care to comment as it is your car LOL
  9. DHC I'll bring you the $$ I owe you on thursday if that is OK?
  10. Damn, slotted rotors and Rotora calipers... trd rims... damn. Thats stopping power! he needs it trust me
  11. Big Happy birthday to the "red stig" aka Superdave. Hope you get some kool stuff for your car!!
  12. Painting calipers red as well as disc hub looks good if it is done properly. Unfortunately a lot of people do rough dodgy jobs an it doesn't quite look the goods. Don't go yellow. Looks crap and tends to fade with the heat quicker than any other colour. Gold unfortunately unless it has Brembo stamped on it looks rather early 80's in the style category.
  13. You could just get an exhaust system made that gives you gains, sounds nice and doesn't need an electronic flap to keep the noise legal. It really is quite a novel idea to do it this way!! Personally with the flap open you make an aurion sound like you are trying to compete with V6 Commonwhore owners who remove mufflers to make "noisepower" and want to noticed for all the wrong reasons. I would like to see a dyno sheet comparing flap open and closed to see what the "real" difference in power is. My guess is bugger all if on the negative side......
  14. If it is the end of April my brother should have the tune and set up finished on his VW and we are looking to hit the track for some time slip action. Other than that I have nothing to race in that won't annoy people attending for taking too long to get over the line!!
  15. Couldn't agree more there Jason. Drag racing is a lot harder than some of you think. How many of you could get your reaction times ultra consistent and land every gear change at maximum RPM every time with the pressure of somebody right beside you trying to beat you across the line?? Personally I think that circuit racing is harder on the wallet is terms of wear and tear and drag racing is harder on the car cause you are trying to extract every ounce out of it for that elapsed time. circuit consumables are tyre and brakes, suspension set ups etc etc. Drags is basically a set of tyres which would last quite a while, maybe a clutch upgrade. for those who break gearboxes it is purely driver error. Miss-shifting or not getting the clutch control right again all comes back to skill. Entry fees for drag racing are a lot cheaper compared to circuit but then you come back to the argument of time behind the wheel for the $$ outlayed. Being that I have done both as a driver and also as crew for big $$ drag cars and circuit cars in their respective categories both have big pluses for skill levels. I know of circuit racers who laughed at the idea of drag racing their circuit car till I convinced them to have a go. After 5 runs at a Test and tune the admission was that "damm it isn't as easy as it looks" Most drag racers that i have had dealings with do have a real appreciation of top circuit drivers and what they do. Now if you want to blow money and have big repair bills for breakages then go rallying. entry fees are getting ridiculous and if you have a moment it may just cost you your car. I used to sponsor a rally car and also service for it and i tell you it is the hardest form of motorsport on a vehicle that you can compete in. I personally rate rally drivers(WRC drivers) as having more skill than a pilot of a F1 car. I've seen some footage of rally drivers swapping seats with F1 drivers and you'd be surprised how quickly the rally drivers pick up the gist of driving a F1 car. F1 pilots not so quick and all say that WRC drivers are "insane" doing 250km/hr through trees and over blind crests with not a single crash barrier in sight!!
  16. BKS you like a nice hot bath eh? LOL
  17. I made 121KW with just a TRD CAI, ITG Filter, CES ported headers and CES catback system. Stock ECU nothing touched internally.... I would of thought with replacement/piggy back ECU and the above mods 130+ would be a fairly achievable mark.
  18. Run the penrite 30 mate. the 50 might be a tad too heavy for the 7Afe
  19. 21st March. If it's on the 28th then Northy, myself, Azza and Jc won't be able to make it.
  20. Penrite 30 is good for your engine and it's age. Genuine Toyota filter isn't that expensive and is prolly one of the best around. As for coolant anything is better than nothing IMO.
  21. With the dissappearance of TRD due to global downturn my guess is not for a long time will toyota release any limited release numbers of sports models.
  22. Spot on SD sounds to me like the handbrake creaking.
  23. Or your **** :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P Fire in the hole! SB is here    :P Don't forget some have the ability to snore loud enough to break foundations :o Loud and proud my red headed friend!! No half hearted efforts here!!
  24. Well last night the general consensus was that we all try and stay in the same place to make things easier and quicker for travel to events. Evo7, Phil and Elgin are flying down. Northy, myself, DJkor are definates for driving. Superdave are you flying or driving with us? JC, Azza, chicaboo, secaboy are all possibles at this stage. Anybody I have missed?? Any other Qld'ers who are going we are thinking of heading down in a group/convoy to make things a bit more fun. At the most there will prolly only be 5 odd cars max so it won't be hard to stay together. We'll all have 2 ways as well. Trip plans are to leave Thursday morning and arrive in Sydney Thursday night after peak hour has finished.Stay in Sydney overnight then drive to Melbourne friday to get there at a reasonable hour Friday night. At this stage Xoom will also possibly join us for the Sydney to Melbourne leg of the trip. So if you want to join us for 2 two days of driving craziness and fun then speak up!! When we went to Sydney in 07 us Qld'ers had a hell of lot of fun on the trip down and back which made time pass pretty quickly!!
