  1. Good luck with the conversion, hope everything runs smoothely, Looks very tidy for an older car. I have a mate with one of these and wasn't as shiney as that one :D
  2. I am in agreeance with Kcorro, Looks like Chinese rather than Japanese

    Foodies

My mum was a chef and when I was a kid of was too Hyper active to be let out of her sight, so I have a bit of a love for cooking now. Although sometimes I really cant be a55ed cooking for myself when the situation arises.
  4. TNT are one of the more expensive couriers, but they are also probebly one of the best as far as being on time, taking car of things, and accountability. Well thats at least in my opinion with previous experiance. Maybe give Star Track a try aswell, they are a bit cheaper and very good also
  5. At about 5:10pm Caltex Bracken Ridge on Gympie Rd - A very smooth black Prefacelift(?) Corolla (non sportivo) debadged except for chrome toyota rear symbol and 1.8 badge on side. Very dark tint and nice chrome wheels and a thin chrome strip around the rear lights. not usually a fan of chrome wheels, but the chrome detail on the car really made it look the part. I would have said something about the Forums to the guy but I was in a massive hurry to make it in time to pick up the rolla from the guys respraying my front bar.
  6. I can't make it tonight, but damn i want to. Looks like a few people I didn't meet at the last meet are turning up. Sorry guys I will have to catch you next time.
  7. Yes, I too know the dangers of Craig showing you his "Lift" He did it to me aswell... and then I bought his car. Welcome, and yes I love the white rims on your car too.
  8. I used to have to fill up once a week at about $70 on BP ultimate until I moved alot closer to work, now I budget in $20 a week sometimes go over though, depending on what i do on weekends.
  9. I may be there, depends on a ) if i have the rolla back (getting front lip resprayed) B ) if i think i should be heading in there, clutch is going. c ) if my girl is working tomorrow night, I dont get to see her too often, so if i have a chance i should take it.
  10. I have been making a few phone calls and and i have a few options already Fidanza Aluminium $525 extreme Chrome Molly $425 was told they are both 3.6kg or so. I think I am leaning to the Chrome molly one, but I am still waiting to hear back from a few places.
  11. xploshun I didnt want to quote the whole lot, just the end. "does that mean.. we have a different corolla to the jap again... muffler to the right and stuff... and some aftermarket part wont fit it... unsure.gif" I think it means we only get the one type of motor, whereas japan may get a choice of 2 engines. It should mean that some stuff will fit if it is for the same motor....maybe
  12. I have seen a video of this before. Only the part where they are cruising along the highway and the car just takes off and you hear the guys going "AAAAHHHHHH" and it was in dodgy quality. I was very impressed with this even though i had seen part of it before.
  13. Yes Blue_stivo I will get off my *****, was waiting for weekdays to begin calling places. but thought I should try and get as much info as possible as soon as possible. And thanks for everyones imput. Josh
  14. The only one of the brands listed that I could find anything decent on was the c-one flywheel on nengun.com. Anyone know where else I could be looking to get info and prices for the other brands? If I don't find anything else I may just go with the C-One
  15. Last night on my way home from work I noticed a bit of slip in my clutch and seeing as the car has a few K's on he clock (90,000), time for a new clutch. I will be getting a mate to do it over a weekend and he said he would be unable to get the flywheel machined on a Saturday at the places he knows and suggested maybe an aftermarket light weight flywheel. Looks like I will also be going with an Exedy HD clutch pack. Who has knowledge/experience with these, what brands, costs, etc. Just though I should get a bit of advice and knowledge on this. Thanks in advance, Josh
  16. There are still stock ones one the road??? :P
  17. In a straight line this sounds like a good idea, but add in some corners and I think there may be a few rolled Ravs, unless they do a little bit of lowering and fixing of suspension.
  18. I was originally from NSW and it was so frustrating when on your L and P plates, it really sucked. Poeple sit on your ***** everywhere you go, and the moment an overtaking lane comes up they get even closer in the hopes of getting past you even faster :S
  19. go to www.youtube.com and search vvtli and it should be the first vid that pops up
  20. Then I shall let myself be inspired by their ideas, and try to work something out. I may fail miserably, but I want it.
  21. Was thinkning a simple switch would be easy enough to pull info from theecu. there has to be a single signal that would be able to be used that tells the oil pump to engage lift, that would be the signal to change to a different set of LEDs. Knowing definately that the facade is 3 pieces sandwiched together is good news, i should be able to do something with the XRS one and the aussie one and maybe even only get as far as white numbers and red lines. Northy has warned me of the LEDs are actually mounted on the PCB so it is soldering work to get them off, and a replacement is $$$.
  22. hi josh, sorry i couldn't read the plates... obviously didn't have my glasses on.... hope you weren't too freaked out by the chick in the red barina staring at you and trying to keep up.... if i still had the stivo i would have "lifted" beside you :D Was I giving it a bit? Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. I don't think I would have been you should have had trouble keeping up though, I don't go too fast.
  23. I don't want to direct swap the dash for the XRS one, just the plastic layer that defines the colour of display. It looks like I can pick this up for $60 or so, so I think I may buy it anyway and hope I can do something with it, if not I may have something for me to experiment on. Still, if anyone has more knowledge on this, I would apreciate it muchly Josh
  24. The mention of the car just stopping in traffic reminded me of when my girlfriends new Yaris (only about 1 month old) decided it would stop. The engine stopped, her brakes being Brake assist, stopped, her doors were locked and the windows wouldnt go down. She made a series of phone calls to homeand I drove out there and left once the tow truck arrived. It got towed to Toyota and they started the car and said that it may happen again. If it does then let them know.
  25. OK, I'm sure everyone has seen the video of the XRS(?) when it hits lift dash changes colour. I have been told that that isnt possible to do with Aus spec as the red colour we ge in our Sportivos is due to a red layer of plastic in the dash, so we can only change colours from one ot another but not have it variable once its in. If I were able to get my hands on a XRS dash would I be able to swap out the plastic layer to their one and change the LEDs over with a simple circuit to change colours at rev range? By the looks of it they also have a solid colour in their dash (caused by colour of plastic, not back lighting) I have spoken to Northy about this and although he liked the idea, if you screw up it can be expensive. Just chasing as much knowledge on this as I can, I would LOVE to do this.
