  1. $4k will get you the TRD Aurion brakes. I think the drilled and slotted DBA 4000's may have been the ones with the cracking issues as they are no longer listed as suitable for track work being "street only" while the standard and slotted are still for track use.
  2. Yep! The TRD's have the 15mm lower & stiffer spring and shocks valved to suit. Otherwise they are interchangeable.
  3. The SX6 shock is the same as the TRD's externally (even gen 4 Camry's are the same). The valves in side will be tuned differently to suit the TRD spring compared to the SX6. If you want to do it properly get the TRD shocks as well. All the other parts will swap over (top mounts, bump stops etc). The TRD springs they talk about on TN are "aftermarket" TRD springs with a 1 inch front drop and 1.4 inch rear drop.
  4. State of Origin nights are best as long as you dont want to see the footy. Have known people to get 10+ runs on State of origin nights.
  5. You can get DBA 4000 series in an Aurion fittment and some better pads.
  6. There is only one word we can use here: FAIL Evo No TWO words EPIC FAIL :P edit: You beat me to it Mick
  7. I just tried my key on my 3500SL and it all works ok. All the doors un-lock. Had a similar problem in Canberra in a rented Presara. Up at Black Mt Tower the transmission singles mess with the remotes, so had to use the key to lock/un-lock and also touch the remote to the start button to get it going.
  8. I got mine on ebay from a seller in the UK.
  9. I agree the strut hats are stuffed. Around the $90 each from Toyota. The bearings under the strut hats are around the $40 mark each. I'm on my 3rd set now at 208,000kms. Toyota also sell the shock as a separate piece (don't have to buy a complete strut) at a comparable price to the KYB's, which are Bilsteins standard on the Touring series.
  10. Most car will depreciate about 40-50% in 3 years. Toyota's do tend to hold there value better over the longer term.
  11. The TRD Aurion is only 15mm lower than a standard Aurion.
  12. Check the pinned ZR6 speaker upgrade thread for pics. You may find that the hole in the door is large enough, but depth could be an issue especially for an 8 inch woofer.
  13. There is a weeks worth of brake dust on the wheels in those pics :D
  14. Bit of a worry if car shocks getting squeek shouldn't could be a common defect thats starting to surface on the cars hmmmmm Azza I didnt say the shock squeaked! I said the strut squeaked which is the whole assembly. It is caused by the water getting around the spring seat in wet weather, which allows the steel and rubber to make a squeaking sound. As I said nothing to worry about. Even DKzr6 mentioned his squeak was weather related.
  15. My TRD gets a squeak in the passenger front strut when the weather is wet like it is now, nothing to worry about. KYB have a listing for the SX6 & ZR6. They are ok to use with lowered springs.
  16. And one of mine A VERY big thankyou to ELEGNT for organising to night, 51DER for the use of the venue and also to tangcla for the excellent photos!
  17. Wixy I have a spare GTP grill. Pm me if you are interested.
  18. An ACV36R is the previous model 4cyl Camry, a MCV36R is the previous model V6 Camry. The "update" refers to the mid cycle update of the Camry which was purely cosmetic (Headlights, tail lights, bumpers and interior trims) which happened late 05. 02-05 is normally refered to as a gen 5 Camry the update model 05-06 is a gen 5.5. An ACV40R is the current 4cyl Camry which is having an update soon. This one is refered to as a gen 6 Camry. Always ask for a drive away price so you can compare apples with apples. The gov taxes are usually stamp duty and rego transfer costs. Ex gov cars can sometimes be good as they usually have low kms, but it depends if the person who had the car drove it like they stole it because it was not there own car. Get the car checked over by someone who knows what they are look for, either a trusted mechanic or get it inspected by a motoring body like NRMA, RACQ or RACV. Can cost around $200. With a dealer you will pay more than with a private seller, but in most states there is a statutory warranty when buying from a dealer. As newbies it might be best to stick to a dealer for some piece of mind, the bigger ones are usually more reputable then the smaller back yard type dealers.
  19. My wife has an 07 Ateva auto and it gets between high 7's and low 10's per 100km. Most of the time it sits around the high 8's to mid 9's with a 30/70% mix of suburban and highway driving. We run the Camry of Shell V-Power or BP Ultimate, but have found it gets about 0.5l/100km better economy on the V-Power.
  20. Most alternator regulators will be around 14.4v max. Anything below 13.8v the battery will not be charging properly.
