  1. Do you mean TRD models? If you do they are the same spec engine as all other Aurions, because a TRD starts life as either a SX6 or ZR6, with a supercharger bolted on to a standard engine. I found that my engine became noisier on start up between 10,000 and 15,000kms which I feel is something to do with the oil that the dealer was using. So now I supply my own oil. This is the first service period since I changed oil so time will tell if it solves my issue, as I am only at the 8,000km mark. It is noticeably quieter since I started using my own oil. I am using Penrite full synthetic with a 5W-50 weight instead of the 10W-30 that the dealer was using before.

  3. What fuel you use: Shell V-power or BP Ultimate. I need 98 octane! How many Km's you get to a tank: 500-550kms, normally wait for light to come on. What your Avg L/100km is: 9.5-10.5 usually. Just using dash readout which I have found to be close enough. What sort of driving is this based on: Commuting, mix of suburbia and freeway. Best ever is 7.0 on a freeway run to the Gold Coast. Worst for a spirited cruise is around 11.5. This is with a TRD and I dont drive like a Nanna! I have found I get better fuel consumption with the V-power, but the engine feels a bit sharper and more responsive with Ultimate. For out right power I dont think there is any difference between the two. Tried V-Power Racing (100 octane) when it was available, now that stuff was the best, the TRD went like a rocket. Didnt care much about consumption.

  5. There are aux input adaptors that plug into the cd changer socket on the back of the standard head unit. You end up with CD (headunit cd player), CD1 (ipod input) & CD2 (aux input) options. You can find them here MP3 My Car. I have the ipod adaptor without the aux input in my Aurion and it works very well.
  6. All Aurion's and gen6 Camry's should be +45mm except the TRD which is +46.5mm. I have some Presara wheels at home for my wifes gen6 and they are 17x7 +45mm.
  7. The ones I have are only 21.5cm wide, the other measurements are the same, but the the plug arrangement on the back is different. The others you posted from ebay will not plug in either as they will be similar to mine.
  8. I have 2 genuine 6 stackers with bluetooth that I want to get rid of that are the same size as those on ebay, but I think that the Avalon radio is wider again. Can you measure the height and width and I will compare with the ones I have.

I know of quite a few 1jz-gte swaps into ra23/28 celicas, also a few 2jz-gte's done as well. 1g-gze/gte & 3t-gte in ta22/ra23 celicas. 1uz-fe into a ma70 supra, also into a mx83 cressida with sprintex supercharger, but the wildest I have seen so far is a 1uz-fe fitted to a st-185 celica which is now rwd with twin turbos.

  12. My TRD would start to get a rattle when it was due for a service. I supplied my own oil this time as I am not happy with the "genuine oil" supplied by the service departments. I now run a Penrite full synthetic oil. It is now a case of wait and see if it stops the rattle. Make sure you get the revised belt as it is 25mm shorter then what was originally supplied. Had mine changed last week all good so far.

  14. They are a very nice looking wheel. After doing some cross reference it looks like the MS213-00025/MS213-00027 will have a +40 offset and the MS213-00026/MS213-00028 will have a +44 offset.
  15. The coilover struts will be a left or right so you wont be able to just swap them. What I think you need to do is remove the fronts so that you can turn the pillow mount 120 deg and then reinstall them. Drivers side 120 deg anti clockwise and passenger side 120 deg clockwise. The diagram of the pillow mounts look like they are 180 deg out for the Camry/Aurion.
  16. I don't see why not but time will tell! It is all about maintenance. Good quality oils/fluids and servicing when its due.
  17. You are right and for most people the factory setup is fine and they will never even think about modifications (my wife's gen 6 Camry falls into this group). Most will never even change their shocks even after they have done 100,000km and they are completely stuffed. Its just that so many times I read "I have got my new lowered springs and the body roll is so much better" comment that it drives me nuts I guess the main point I was trying to make is that if you want to stop body roll use a swaybars. If you have a car that feels floaty or soft get uprated springs and shocks to suit. And if you want to tighten up the body use braces. As for myself the TRD is a daily driver with commuting through suburbia, freeway and inner city, but when I get the opportunity I will drive it how it is meant to be driven :D . I will most likely keep the stock springs in the TRD as I dont think that I would make it my drive way if it was lowered and the fact that the engineers have tuned a great overall package. But I did change the RSB because it had quite a lot of rear roll, and this something that Toyota HQ is conservative about and would not let the engineers do. I feel that by installing the strut brace and the RSB it has finished off the TRD's handling package and lets it show it's full potential. It is no longer a heavy under steering FWD with excessive power.
  18. The higher the octane rating the less volatile the fuel is. So it needs a higher temperature to ignite. Fuel density is how much energy a fuel has, a higher density = more energy. Thats the problem with ethanol as it has a higher octane rating then PULP but is less dense so it has less energy and more is needed to be burnt to go the same distance. LPG is also in the same boat.
  19. Is what your saying applicable to daily drivers/street racers/track car? Would it reduce the body roll feeling in a daily driver? It is applicable to all. Yes it will and because the springs haven't been changed the ride will stay the same. I have replaced the rear swaybar and installed a strut brace on my TRD. Even on the TRD there was a hugh amount of rear roll during cornering which has be minimised with the RSB. The strut brace has made the steering feel more direct and accurate by reducing the flex in the front suspension towers.

  22. Just remember that the coil springs of a car are not designed to stop body roll, that is what the swaybars are for. The strut brace is to minimise/stop flex in the strut towers. By putting a firmer set of standard springs or coilovers you will actually be putting more stress on the suspension mounting points and possibly cause more flex. Which then may require the fittment of a strut brace. You can make a car with standard springs and uprated swaybars corner/handle better than a car with coilovers and standard swaybars because the roll is being controlled properly. Also if you lower a car to far it can have a negative impact on the roll centre which can cause unpredictable/sudden weight shift when cornering rather then a slow/predictable weigyht shift as the cars body rolls. I really recomend anyone who wants to change their suspension to have a look at the Whiteline website tech articles. There is a lot of good information there, even though it is not Aurion specific.

  24. The gen 6 Camry and Aurion share a very similar chassis/platform and drive train to the ES350. The ES family is now a US only model. The gen 4 Camry also shared a platform with the early ES300 and the gen 5 with the last ES330 sold here. There was a recent thread on TN with engine bay pics of the gen 6 and the ES as they were comparing suspension compatibility.
