  1. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthre...evoc+Shift+knob You'll need to have an account... Seems to be the way to go... most others just get a normal Auto Shifter and relocate the O/D button to somewhere else nearby.
  2. G,day mate, As people have mentioned, head over to Auscam :) We are mainly a Camry club with a few Corollas and Aussie based. We have quite a few members in NSW but predominantly in SE Qld. We get along well with the Admins from TOCAU - we've been to a couple of their cruises and so on... and whenever we have a cruise (haven't had one for some time) we'd be more than happy to invite them along. Direct link to forum - www.auscam.org/forum See ya there :P
  3. Mine might have had more buildup than yours... my car's 7 years older after all. I'm telling you my opinion, itr might not work for you, but it certainly works for me.
  4. I did investigating on that Levoc shifter on AC... is that where you got the info from, or you look on TN? Apparently these are one of the only shifters you can get with an O/D button. To install, it's not really easy... but looks awesome when done. You can even change the handbrake around too from the same manufacturer and make them match.
  5. Jase is right... the sound quality from an aftermarket HU makes you wonder why they bothered making Stock HUs in the first place.
  6. Gotta love Anthony (aka Stylsh, A) I believe that you're best off talking to Adam from the US (ASG14), he has all this kinda stuff there... might have helped Anthony maybe? The ones that Adam had going were proper tuned lengths and the like...
  7. It's a Jap car. If it were a Holden then you'd have problems on Rice. When someone labels the car as "Rice", that's an opinion. The car I was mentioning is that very car that 11TWO placed up, we're all good mates in S/E Qld, we regularly meet up, do cruises, have BBQs etc etc. I've helped Will (the white Cam in the pic) with a few things, polishing the engine top, helping with colour coding the rear mirrors etc. You're best off asking Will or 11TWO (aka Cheungah or Lawz) in what he did to shave the CAMRY sign off.
  8. Best opinion I have... from my experience anyway. Don't plant ya foot on the throttle :P Also, use decent fuel. I don't notice much difference between my intake and exhaust in the way of fuel consumption... I don't have the resonator, I have an aftermarket snorkel/flexpipe with a K&N panel filter... doesn't make any power difference, let alone fuel consumption difference. Exhaust is 2 inch all the way through, Zetti cannon on the back with a silencer (helps with back pressure), no difference in fuel consumption. I regularly use Nulon's Total System cleaner and run 98 octane from Shell (V Power). I get around 600km a tank with the A/C on and not on highways and that's on my 3VZFE mate. Good luck Brad :P hehehehe
  9. Yeah normally they replace the water pump when they have the engine in a few bits. The last thing you'd want is to blow the water pump and know that the timing belt etc has to come off so you can replace it :P Easier to spend 30 bucks or whatever on the part than to spend a couple of hundred on labour replacing it.
  10. SDV10... sounds like the 4 banger? Depending on how many kms it's done, then I'd say that's normal. He'd have to be replacing sparkies, idle pulley, water pump, timing belt, all oil flushes and all the normal bits and pieces to be around that amount. It's the 3VZFEs (V6s) that can take the time, sometimes requires 2 people to help. If you ask around, you might find it slightly cheaper. If he does the works on the car and he does a good job, I'd be sticking with that.
  11. I'm moreso wondering that I'm providing advice on cheap mods and apparently that's like, bad? Hell, if you think playing around with paint is in the too hard basket, don't bother modding the car because everything will be too hard. Tail lights are the easiest mod in the book, you just need to jumper the 3rd tail light (as per my red/clear/reds). There's no such thing as "cheap" mods. Where you don't spend money, you'd need to spend time and effort. I've done a lot of cosmetic mods on my car... most you can't see, and the amount of time and effort gone into it would be more than you think. I believe the amount of money I've spent on parts for modding would be around the 1.5k mark, not including the sound system.
  12. Well, a Camry can have between +38 through to +45... If Ford AU have the EXACT same, as well as stud pattern, I don't see a reason why it'd be a problem. Just make sure the width is 8 inches or thinner, you'd be better off with 7.5s so you don't need to flare. If you've lowered it and had say, a set of 18s, you'd need to roll even if you had 7.5 inch wide.
  13. I use additives all the time... normall I get Nulon's Total System Cleaner... costs around 20-22 bucks from SuperCheap or the like. I get my car serviced every 5k, and I add one of these every 5k... depending. I put one in only yesterday. You'll notice that it runs slightly smoother, but don't bother adding it unless you wanna put in 98 octane for the whole tank or two. If you wanna clean your injectors, get the Nulon injector cleaner and run the car down to almost empty... head to the servo, add the additive to the fuel, and pump in some Shell V-Power. Over the next day or two the engine normally feels jumpy and sputters out the back... I was told that the additive and better fuel were removing the deposits from the injector area or thereabouts... 2 days later, she was working beautifully.
  14. rwtl club... maaaaaaaaaaaaybe not LOL You're on Auscam - she'll be right :P
  15. I only know of 4 Camrys in the whole of Australia that have these tail lights. Three in SE Qld (coz that's where most of us Camry mob are) and one in Perth. This would be the 5th set :P
  16. The rear centrepiece garnish looks hideous on the 94 4 bangers... the black with the white writing? Will (94Camry at Auscam) ended up shaving off the CAMRY logo and spray painting the whole garnish white. Looks awesome, especially with the red/clear tail lights. He did that all by himself too.
  17. From the advice and also the experience in some Cammas I've been in, the KYBs seem to be sturdy and also have ride comfort all in one. The Monroe GTs in comparison are much harder.
  18. I like the Hybrid... sorta reminds me of a Honda Euro... There's stuff all changes from the 1st class Gen 6s to the new 2nd class. Shares same chassis and everything... different engine and some fancy stuff added and off ya go! Impressive power for a 2.5 though :)
  19. Yes... you CAN get the red/clear tails from the US... I have a set mate. Actually, a few of us at Auscam have some. Look up "Matrix" - car accessories place on Ebay... they're in LA, they should be able to help you out :) PM me on Auscam if you have any questions mate, there's more to just plug and play :P They have an extra bulb that needs to be double jumpered :) Also, the Levoc shifter... search on TN, there's a whole entire walkthrough on how to install these on our Gen 3s :P

    LPG

Considerin what it costs to do on the conversion, the stories I've heard about problems with it, and the costs of maintaining this (as well as lack of bootspace), I'd say it's definetely not worth it... you'd probably find you'd lose money, especially when fuel's quite cheap at the moment :)
  21. I'd say what everyone's stated... coz it's not made for looks or performance... in it's stock form anyway :P I'd quite happily show you some specced Cammas that'd make a Commo or Falcon look like a bush-bashing Colt :)
  22. Ay mate, might wanna ask Admin if you can move this topic to the For Sale area? Quite set in their rules here :) Mmmmmmm.... 2JZ... I want an Aristo!! I'm more for the Chaser Tourer V 3.0V 1JZs though :P Seeexxxxxyyyyyy
  23. I used Adam's lil guide when I did mine... I remember reading this years ago!! If you're good with pics - go for it :P
  24. First thought - battery... 2nd was starter motor. I went overseas for 2 weeks and came back to start the car and got the clicking... battery musta been on it's way out. Ended up goin and buyin one that day. As stated, hit up the wreckers for a new starter if it's not the battery... much cheaper. Them things aren't cheap!
  25. I know this is opinionative, but there's no way in HELL am I putting any Ford or Holden stuff on my Toyota :P As for the windscreen washer bottle, the sunlight seeps through the gap in the bonnet lid and over a period of years it erodes. The best way to fix this would be to replace the bottle with another and get some double sided tape on the inside of the bonnet to stop the light from coming in onto the bottle mate.
