  1. Hiro's right. You'll see the black plastic cover on the side of the engine... you'll see the black "dogbone" shaped engine mount next to it too. In between the wiper washer bottle and the engine block.
  2. Dude, CAI won't get you much gain, if any at all... only because I've done it on my car itself. I have some flex pipe going from the bottom bar, to the airbox, with a K&N Panel Filter, yet it doesn't make any difference... nothing noticeable anyway. I know lots of lads that have done this with their Camrys... the only advantages are: not having to replace the filter again & the "sucking" noise that you get when you plant ya foot mate! If you're looking for smoothness, treat the car well, service the car and add some engine treatment to the engine oil (done at the same time as the service) and run 98 octane for a few tanks with a total system cleaner from Nulon. A set of Hurricane or Wildcat extractors wouldn't hurt... and maybe an upgraded exhaust, but that's the most gain you'll get, unless you do port and polish (best bang for your buck)... looking around 700-1k bucks, but may add an extra 20 or so kw on average. The other way... custom supercharger or turbo :) I seen both :P Looks awesome.
  3. My best mod for making it work better... Proper service... 98 octane fuel... injector cleaner (goes into fuel tank), engine treatment (goes into engine) and when the fuel's used, go for a tank of 98 again with Nulon Total System cleaner. It might be a tad shaky for the first few days (prob removing carbon deposits outta the engine and burning em off) but she'll run sweet as a nut after that. The larger exhaust helps it feel less "Restrictive" in a way too.
  4. I made a huge post on this once upon a time... mighta been another Camry thread. As mentioned, open the tap on the radiator, let it drain out... I use a hose to flush it out. I close the tap on the radiator, fill it back up and let it run out, and repeat... mainly to get rid of the stuff in the engine block. Once I'm happy with the clear water coming outta the bottom of the radiator, I get a 4L bottle of Distilled water and rinse it through (better than nothing?). I use either Nulon's premade Red coolant stuff, or Toyota's Long Life Coolant (Red). No doubt, Toyota's is better, and I will be using Toyota next time.
  5. Ask the lads at Boost Cruising... LOL - they know all about the fully sic drifts and hectic skids there bru. All in all, our Camrys aren't made for burnouts.
  6. Don't spose you could load this onto Youtube or Photobucket? Not working for me lol... And nup, cbf loading Flash 9 :P Should work with any version haha
  7. As Bangers states... very easy job. I did exactly what he did. Unscrew the square grommet attached to the firewall, pass the power cable through one side, and drop it down the back of the firewall into the footwell. You'll need to take off that black bashplate or whatever it is to get ahold of it. From there, it's as simple as feeding the power cable down to the boot. I ran my 4 gauge cable along the left side under the carpet, under the rear seats, straight into the boot. Run your RCA cabling down the right... lol. You'll be susceptible for feedback otherwise with the power. I've not once had a problem with my amp or wiring. The whole lot was rerun by myself and a couple of other mates from Auscam... only one way to do it, and that's "properly".
  8. I don't mind the eyelids on the Gen 3s... just paint the top part on the headlight covers. I seen like, 3-4 cars in Auscam with em... looks good.
  9. I just replaced mine at 153k on the clock... same from brand new. Worn down... prob had about 5-10% left on em... not bad for brake pads, lol. I replaced mine with Bendix Advance Pads (apparently they don't make these anymore?? meh) and so far so good. Brake dust is a lot less now though :) Which I like, lol
  10. Ay Rel, What size bulbs do they take? T5s?
  11. I was afraid of getting that urge... Bloody ell though, musta taken some time to chrome them! Quite interesting watching chrome being made/put on...
  12. You able to upload the pics or copy and paste any of the info? Wants us to sign up to view the site and all that.
  13. Well, take your pic... there's heaps of things you can do to the car mate. At the moment, I'm getting a part that was only sold in the states... covers the front part of the bonnet, just in front of the radiator. Cleans it up extra nice (good when you have Camry mate contacts in the US) There's only two of us that will have em as well :P
  14. If you're a member of TOCAU or Auscam, you're more than welcome to join. Dave aka SupaTouring has a TRD Aurion as well... haven't got any Klugers on Auscam lol...
  15. I'm from Kawana Waters - I don't even know this place existed in the first place? We're a spontaneous bunch, whatever goes on the day... normally works out better than expected :P
  16. Another question... Castrol Magnatec has additives to help protect the engine... well, so they say anyway right? Would it be better to go to a normal 20w50 compared to the Magnatec?? Or is there an oil, that's 20x50, that will have the same advantages, if surpass the Magnatec oil?
  17. I think the old skool Supras are the hardest to replace... RIGHT up in the centre of the car, just above the rear axle. What a pain in the ***** to take that out!! But yeah, Oil Filter = walk in the park compared to a fuel filter!
  18. 20w 50 a better oil for older engines??
  19. If I can take the filter off a 5SFE... anyone can :P 3VZs on the other hand... similar, but just that tiny bit harder haha And I'll also be another to add that the fuel filter's a pain in the ***** to remove. However taking the lid off the fuel tank released some pressue... came off a tad easier after that.
  20. Seat covers help... especially the genuine sheepskin seat covers... I could fall asleep in my chair!! hahaha I'm on the same opinion that an Azura will be wayyy better than a base model Aurion.
  21. What chime we talkin about here? I remember my mate had one of those on his old ute... side cutters work real good to stop it from makin any noise mate :)
  22. Sorry to hijack the thread... But are you meaning I can buy these lil devices and attach them to each speaker, and filter out the bass in the speakers?? My HU hasn't got a High Pass Filter and I have my rears runnin off the HU lol... would come in handy!!
  23. Best bang for your buck... Port and Polish. Around 700-900 bucks... can gain in excess of 30kw from what I've heard :)
  24. Well, I use Castrol Magnatec... just ticked over 154k on my 95 Tourer... never had any bearing knocks though? I change my oil every 5k... I have only ever used Magnatec in this car since I got it near 2 years ago... I'm gonna try another oil though, just to see if it makes a difference at all.
  25. Yes, the TRD Chargers are bloody hard to get ahold of, but if you look through the forums in the US, you could prob get one over here for around 3k ish. If not, I can put you onto a contact in the States who can get them.. As for Aurions... they're bloody excellent on fuel for their engine size. I guess that aerodynamics has played a huge part in keeping fuel consumption to an alltime low :P
