  1. You can always opt for the black garnish with the raised "CAMRY" wording... shave them off, and paint it, as mentioned. I've seen a few done like this, and when painted to suit the car paint, they look awesome.
  2. It's only done 80k on the clock... so I guess it doesn't get used that much huh? I'd be under the impression that the carbon's been building up more from short trips??? Just a thought.
  3. Lots of forums and clubs are doing this these days... most think we're just hoons though, lol. What area?
  4. You need to watch out which ones to get... You have a Gen 3 (1993-1995) and a Gen 3.5 (1996-1997). I've seen instances where people who own a 3.5 buy tail lights that are made for Gen 3s. and find the garnish sits out, so I'd imagine the opposite MIGHT happen to yourself. This theory however got blown outta the water when Tash last week got one off a 94 or 95 Vienta, on her 96 or 97 Camry. Why you want one? Changin up? Or broken the other one? The best combo, in my opinion is my backend (not tryin to be biased, lol) but the red/clear boot garnish, plus the Red/Clear/Red tail lights really look schmicko :P
  5. Only ever seen them on Azuras...
  6. That's up there with the Bugatti Veyron... I love the tail lights? Reminds me of Predator LOL
  7. What kinda noises you talkin about? Vacuum noises? Knocking?? These engines are almost indestructible. It's funny that you're getting noises from these at all mate!
  8. Debadging... only held on by glue. If you wanna put em back on, clean em up, and get some 3M tape and stick em back on mate. Easy done. The LEDs for the dash cluster... not too hard. Just gotta get the dash on and off (that's about the hardest bit, and there's only a few screws and clips to undo to get it out). There's 4 of the T10 globes horizontal to each other... they somewhat screw on, and touch a contact at the same time. You'll need a T5 globe of the same colour to replace the light that covers the 0-20km/h area (only small amount of area... will come up as white otherwise). The air intake? If you're just wanting to replace the air filter, then just drop a panel filter in mate. Honestly, I notice no difference with a larger intake (new snorkel down to front bar to suck in cool air) and a K&N Panel filter. You may notice it to be less restrictive somewhat, and the fact that you won't need to buy a replacement air filter... that's it really. Any other info, just hit me up. I'm normally on another Camry forum lol. Cheers
  9. If you're after cheap cosmetic mods... I'll make a list... lol. Fronts are always interesting to fit. Normally you'll need to either make a custom fibreglass pod for the front door panels, or you get some MDF mounts and screw them onto the door... much fun indeed My mods so far: - Custom front indicators... Made with 3mm clear perspex, which I heated up and glued to the original housing... I know quite a few Camry drivers who've done this on theirs. No one custom makes these, and the US ones won't fit. They have a different front bar. - Aftermarket Red/Clear/Red US imported tail lights... sorta plug n play, but need to jumper a wire in the harness to get the 3rd bulb happening. - Custom black door trims. Normally these start to peel off over the years. Ended up replacing all 4 doors... took a while, but a cheap mod none the less. Mine are all black :P - it matches the leather steering wheel and gear shifter. - Clear side indicators. Buy from Autobarn... don't touch Ebay - they don't fit. - Respray windscreen wipers to suit the car... looks good, lol. - Mesh the front grill and the bottom of the bar. Tidies it up a hell of a lot. - Debadge the back of the car... take the TOYOTA badge off... CSi badge or whatever you have, and just leave the Bulls Horn badge on there. Use a hairdryer and metho or sumfin to clear the old glue off the back end. Makes the car look shizloads better. - LED lights... put one in the glove compartment, one in the ceiling, one in the boot... rear number plate... and redo the dash lights blue... they look good. I think you did yours though? Kewl. - Upgrade air filter to K&N and change intake snorkel pipe... No performance gain, but sounds much better :P There's probably a few more... can't remember off the top of my head, lol. I haven't got any pics at the moment, they're all on a Camry forum that I'm mainly on. If you want more power (dunno your engine type, but the V6 3VZFE likes quality), so give it a couple of tanks of 98 octane, Nulon injector cleaner, and when you service the oil, put in the Nulon "Lifter free tuneup". It'll clear the engine right up, and you might notice the engine making a few extra loud putting noises for a while. Normally this happens because the treatments have dislodged some sludge from the cams or wherever, and prob burning off in the cylinders. Mine's in the midst of doin that now :)
  10. Yeah, they'd have a company make all their badging I'd imagine. Exactly the same with their Official Merchandise. All their Merchandise is made by a Promotional group who have official rights to use their name, logos, etc etc and are sold through the dealerships themselves.
  11. The suspension is usually the most noticeable difference. I'd imagine the mix of both stiffer suspension, plus 35psi under a smaller profile would make it feel a tad harder. ... Imagine if you had Coilovers? Hehehehe... say goodbye to a nice smooth drive!
  12. Bad news, sorry to hear about it! If someone's tried forced entry, would that be covered under insurance? And yeah... I'd be investing in an immobiliser as well... you'd never think they'd ever go for your car ay?? Hehehe..
  13. HIGHLY talented I must say... The fact he can use sound effects by using his cheeks/lips & air pressure, as well as using vocals at the same time, goes to show he's one above the rest. I play the didgeridoo.. it's hard enough to create rhythm as well as voice calls at the same time lol
  14. Pure curiousity... Would the "jigglyness" be from the fact that the profile of the tyre is much smaller?
  15. Beware of Ebay (haven't heard THAT before, lol). They may be cheap, but the colour may fade. Have learnt this plenty of times before
  16. Yeah true... go a Ferrari... and even as he said, money isn't an issue, I'm sure there's a limit there somewhere B) If it were me, I'd be dropping in a 3VZ-FE fully rebuilt, with a TRD Supercharger with a connector plate to attach to the engine, and buying an Aftermarket ECU to fine tune the new power from the engine. I'd then have an intake that will suit the blower and engine, and an exhaust that'll suit as well. As you can see, this Supercharger will give you a lot more power, without having to stengthen any internal parts (as they're already overbuilt for the engine anyway) and the maintenance on a Supercharger/3VZ conversion will be nothing compared to a turbo setup. With turbos, you need to custom make all the plumbing and all that, as well as any teething issues that arise from it (alternator might pack it in, etc etc). There's no such thing as a perfect install (not that I've heard of anyway). The more you spend on turbos, the more it'll cost to maintain, lol! (Constantly dyno tuning... every 6 months to a year). My opinion! Hehehehe
  17. Realistically Danny, he said that money isn't an issue. The 3VZ engine was wayyyy overbuilt for it's normal everyday use. You can Supercharge it with the TRD Supercharger, which as STYLSH mentioned, it's a factory part from Toyota, made specifically for the 1MZ engine (but these have been placed on a 3VZ engine before). They run around 4 psi I believe from stock... but who says you can't change the pulley to a smaller size? hehehe.. And... as also mentioned, you CAN turbo the 3VZ, maybe only 4-5psi (opinionative, but could go higher) before you need to start strengthening any internal parts. Rob from Auscam is in the midst of turboing his 3VZ anyway... will be a beast when it's done. I quote from a bloke in the states who has pulled these engines and rebuilt these things time and time again:
  18. Is Nice :P Kinda blends with it. Sorta VIP stock rims, but aftermarket at the same time :)
  19. Well, if anyone has a 15 year old stacker still working, then they are VERY lucky. Who's seen CD players last 15 years? I'd just buy an upgraded head unit and 6 stacker for the boot... MUCH better sond quality from an Aftermarket HU anyway :)
  20. G,day mate, welcome to the forums :) 89 Camry... nice... fuel injected, or carby driven? Go the ol' Cammas :P Now... there's spendin money to make it look good... nice... and then there's SPENDING MONEY lol... You'll see the 89 Camry in my sig (car on the left) - the amount of money spent on that is over a year's worth of income to someone! hahaha. Get some pics up... :)
  21. I guess it'll depend on the tyre... maybe a different model tyre, or different profile tyre, or width might run better on different pressures. 34 works for me, I used to go 38, but I feel it's better for mine at 34. You'll constantly be checking the pressure every week or so anyway to make sure it hasn't lost any pressure anyway lol
  22. So... there's next to no difference is there? I keep mine around 34... seems to work for me.
  23. Well, there ya go... Anthony's more persistent than I am... hahahaha At least I know that if I ever need 0 gauge cabling to my boot, I know it can run it :P
  24. Well, I had a 94 Camry, went from original head unit, to aftermarket, back to original head unit... The seatbelt light made no difference. The same applies to my 95 Touring. Maybe the Advantage series had a seatbelt detector??? Dunno... But I know for sure that the Gen 3s and 4s don't have this function (unless the Grande did)
  25. Yeah... unfortunately the Gen 3s came in Gunmetal Grey... just see the sexy a$$ in my avatar :P lol I'd be hittin the Gen 4 style Aqua/Blue colour, like SupaTouring's Gen 4... Maybe slightly darker. I've never seen a Gen 3 like that, and as all Camry enthusiasts are, we're unique.
