  1. Picked up Supra 4 pot brakes w/ fitting kit ect about a two weeks after acquiring the car. Only now did I get 'round to doing something about them; instead of fitting it straight out I went about changing the colour as I didn't like/want the 'Supra' text. Prior to the primer, I hit it with sandpaper and mineral turps then on went some high temp primer. By this stage I was running out of light so skipped the photos until the end. Going for the 'subtle' look, I opted for gun metal and ordered some custom TOM'S vinyl cut decals. Vinyl cutter reassured that the material could resist heat very well so I'll be testing that out with fury come November 20 track day! Brother did a Group Buy on the 100k major service kit on the JZX forums so naturally, I jumped on aboard! It included the timing belt, intake/exhaust cam seals, front main seal, idler bearing, water pump, tensioner ect. The other bits are the fitting kit and pads for the Supra brakes, various belts and a Fumoto oil drain valve. Still need to purchase/complete a few other things so time is against me; I'll work something out!
  2. Pettet is known for being a very tough cop to deal with. All the Nissan guys know this all too well..
  3. Damn Huey, unlucky with the defect man. I actually read the last few pages but didn't see/read where you got done? Did Pettit do you? And I agree: Dandy Exhausts is the biggest waste of time. Guy guaranteed me a single tip pea shooter muffler would clear my EPA test. After paying for the muffler, labour and test - Boom, failed. Ended up clearing it in Box Hill with a few 'additions'
  4. Sorry kids - car is booked in for a track day on November 20. If it's a later date then I'll most likely come
  5. Phil, I did it on the same tyres as Duy: Hankook C71 semi slicks. They look like slicks but are still classified as a semi slick as the compound is different and still has 2 grooves (yes I know what your thinking lol) The EG belongs to Quang yes, and the red one is Phong's but I'm not particularly fond of him or Thai (white EF9) - egotistical dudes lol. Their other friend, An with the turbo'd EG is pretty damn fast. He lapped a 1.44.xx last time I saw them there Them RE002's, with some suspension tweaks should get you into the sub 50's/high 40's I'd imagine. I'll be at Winton on November 20 for the EXE track day if you want to come spectate
  6. I'll drive your car next time @ Winton Phil! :P jk Add some sway bars and monitor your tyre pressure = good 2 secs off methinks
  7. Believe it or not, it was actually easier to get out of the Corolla as it was sitting on super low rails - I need only hoist myself up and the ground was right there. In the Chaser, it's slightly awkward as it's not as low and the steering wheel is bigger in diameter so I have to clamber out so to speak. A few people have looked at me oddly... haha
  8. Not much happening At the car wash with my brother. His recent acquisition (JZX110 Mark II) fter selling the Liberty. The stock seat was good but I was used to my fixed-back ways lol
  9. you need more screws Alister... sounds so wrong haha!
  10. sorry for the no show guys, had work early in the morning and then mass in the arvo. Next time :) Car looks grouse Alister!
  11. haha Huey, that's my friends Series 1 - slight difference between the two
  12. thanks guys! Have been driving the car alot lately but seldom push it - but yes, you're right, once I'm comfortable with pushing it then I'll looking at the sub 40 zone with a few bars, braces and maybe semi's
  13. The aftermarket camber bolts in my previous AE92 could dial in -2.5 degrees, funnily enough my standard Chaser camber bolts will happily do -3
  14. Duy, you'll notice three things with the semi slicks: a) road noise is now very audible, B) sidewalls are super stiff and c) tremendous grip. Remember though, take it easy in your first session and make mental notes on how much pace you can carry and watch your braking lines. Being a Tampered Day, pace yourself so you have enough room for clean runs and watch out for idiots; always bound to be 1. Lastly, don't lower your tyre pressure too low from the start. Yes, our rolling diameter is the same but that doesn't mean the tyre pressure is. The extra inch in tyre sizing requires more air to inflate the tyre, correct? Now if you put 28-30psi in the 16 inch tyre then it'd be comparable to 26 (ish) psi. I would recommend, 32psi and go from there but it is your call, so it's your call. Good luck man
  15. Another small update Ever since acquiring the Chaser, I was Never fond of the amber side lamps/indicators so, off went the lamps in the first week and on went some Genuine Toyota clear ones. The following week, I picked up some clear indicators for the guard but until then, never got 'round to fitting them until today As the compliance indicators were smaller in size, I used a template to cut around the original hole with a dremel and eventually got it to sit very snug. Swapped the clear bulbs for amber ones too. Very happy camper now to say the least!
  16. Ok, now for everyone to guess what time Duy will do.. I'd say a 1.47-48..
  17. Went to the carwash to fit a part, will update thread soon. For now, here's a shot of his.. and mine Series 1 v Series 2 Update coming :)
  18. whats the ETA looking like Duy? Message me on the day how you go? I'd think you'd nail a 1.47-8 if all goes well
  19. don't worry Alister, I'll be running the Falken RT615's which are currently on the car so call it a holiday haha There's going to be another Chaser there, I know the owner and his cracked a 1.51 before so that's going to be my target time. In my group, theres 2 BMW's, a TT Supra (good driver), 2 AE86s, a turbo'd B16 Civic, an Ignus sport and a couple of others. Going to be interesting to see what the land barge can do haha
  20. Will see what I can do for you Alister but no promises, will be doing time attack style sprints (3 or so hard laps per session then finish) as I don't have an oil cooler
  21. Thanks guys! Jeff, it's my friend standing in the background covering her face lol
  22. Some new photos For some reason, I really like this shot even though its off fairly poor quality lol Thanks for looking
  23. 3rd Duy? His previous Chaser was stacked, I was emplying my eldest brother having a TME Evolution 6 lol
