  1. hhhmmm, interesting... where can i get these and roughly how much?
  2. yea i get the same thing.. you can really hear it when the windows are open.. it bugs me... i'v changed oil already, and it still makes the sound.. it seems to be getting louder, or maybe i'm noticeing it more.. anyone know whats wrong??
  3. i'm pretty sure you can get universal fittings black leather headrest screens already.. i'v seen them at JB hifi ages ago,, i was thinking about getting some and getting them retrimed to match my seats..
  4. nice work guni... looking good... and i bet it all made a huge difference.. which do you think made the most improvement..
  5. i don't know of a rattling sound but i do get a squicking sound.. going into 1st when im at a stand still.. i changed oil but it didn't help..
  6. looking nice mate... c-one wings tips for sure.. then some debadging... :D
  7. hahaah this made me lol. My guess would be Nitrous Oxide, going by the "danger to manifold" picture. Didn't it crop up in Fast 'n' Furious when he blasted excessive NOS. Then Vinny came over and humiliated Brian in front of the crowd, telling him that he didn't double clutch like he shoulda and prolly fried his piston rings. "You almost had me? You NEVER had me, you never had your car!" This man speaks the truth. Its NOS for sure! xoom - Hey harry, I need NOS.... no no no, I need two bottles... and harry, I need them by tonight! as long as it's not like the movies where the 10 second race goes for like 10 min.. and their cars only get on boost when they hit the nos button,,, you should see the boost gauge, they run 3/4 of the race with out even hitting boost... now thats mass lag.. lol Thats cause they had really big turbos! hahhahahahha,,, they do run big turbo's.. so xoom, any news yet?? updates??

  9. nah i don't really get a ticking sound... i'm not sure if the 1zz has the valve thingy... the 1zz's only had the air flow metre attached to the intake, thats it.. i didn't have to block any valves or leave anything out.. it was a simple swap and go.. my pod is sitting at the end of the intake pipe as well Johnny, and you remember how loud mine gets...
  10. nice work guys, i wonder why J's isn't as loud?? i don't think that afew cm diffrence on where the pod sits would make that much of a diffrence..
  11. i was going to paint the side strips aswell, but then figured if i paint them i also have to paint the door handles too.. so what i did was i took them off to see how i liked it, if i didn't like how they looked then i could always paint them and stick them back on anyways.. but the end result was they stayed off... looks much cleaner and smooth.. the easiest way to take them off is by using some thin fishing wire and a hair dryer, but the glue is a pain to get off no matter what you use..
  12. the new rims look good.. black with the red lip suits your car to a tea (being a red car and all)... i know i'm going to get shot for saying this, but i'm not a big fan of the time attack red lip... but they do look good on your car..
  13. PLEASE READ BEFORE LOOKING AT PIC..... Ordering a cake by phone: Cake-shop employee answers phone..., "Harro, dis Springvale cake-shop, how can I helping you?" Customer, "I would like to order a cake for a going away party this week." Employee, "What you be want writing on cake?" Customer, "..'Best Wishes Suzanne'....underneath that....'We will miss you'.... please fellow members... choose your words wisely... enjoy :D
  14. The bendix CT's are designed to limit dust but brake dust is inevitable, its incorporates a semi titanium strip (which ain't much in titanuim) to eliminate 'bedding' as normal brake pad change practice you have to do this. this good for street as this was the 'softer' replacement for Bendix Advance. I sold many when i has working for Coventry's & the feedback was quite neutral some complaind of squeaking (but we found it was associated with disc rotor material & optimum operaional heat retention) Hope this helps yeah i too have been told that these are low dust and also have a very good initial bite.. which is what you want for the streets.. i was told that bendix didn't make proformance or advance pads for 1zz's...
  15. with stage 3 cams and making it a 2lt, i'd say injectors would be a good idea.. by the sounds of it, it's going to need to be upgraded sooner or later anyways.. especially if the engines going to rev as hard as i think it would, the last thing you want is for the injectors too max out before the engine hits it's peek.. so you might as well do it while your pulling everything apart anyways.. stage 3 cams on a 2lt 1zz... man i can only imagine how it would sound.... "lump, lump, lump, BBBAAAAAAA!!!!!" awsome :D good luck dude with the project, make sure you keep us posted on how it goes... ;)
  16. My impression is this is caused by the forward weight transfer. The rear becomes light and becomes more sensitive to slight changes in direction. Putting heavier springs/stiffer dampeners will control this weight transfer better. try heavy braking in a straight line, hold the steering dead straight and do the heavy braking before you enter the corner.. cars brake best when they are in a straight, if you try to brake hard and turn at the same time the car will feel floaty, and you have a higher chance to spin when entering the corner. i had the same problem my first time out..
  17. just and bit more dusty then standered pads... but it dosen't worry me cause i have black wheels.. :P
  18. st albans car right... :P i use to live around there.. yeah i had a look at this car too... i had a look when he still had the trd cai and d2 coils... but he wouldn't budge on price.. good buy mate, sunroof and all.. gotta be happy with that... ( i wish i had a sunroof on my car :( )
  19. i'm using motul in my car at the moment,,, i couldn't get any redline at the time and i was told castrol was not so good in the cold.. the 2zz looks diffrent to the 1zz, we use a 24mm bolt for both fill up and drain holes.. but in the same location.. i used only 2lts of oil for my gear box... beware, make sure you have your oil catch tray in the right spot, other wise it's going to get messy..
  20. agreed with SD, he really is super :D ,,, it's like what he said it really depends on what you want to do with the car, i'm running EBC green stuff which is (i think) about 0-550 degree's i'v used them on the track twice now and they hold up for about 5-6 hard laps... after about 5 hard laps i started to lose abit of faith in them, i don't know why cause they still worked fine, but found my self braking earlier... my car is a daily driver and the newer designed ebc pads are not noise at all... and i only have a 1zz so like what Dave said you really don't get that much speed so you don't have to wipe off that much speed.. and the ebc greens are on the cheaper side of pads, i paid $135 for my front set, and $150 for rear, not sure why the rear's are more expensive...
  21. a race sheet is more for noob's like us... it's just to help us record things like tyre pressure hot and cold, air temps, lap times and and little things like that.. and at the end of the day you can see how adjusting little thing can change your lap times.. what tyres are you running?? 44psi cold is probly abit too much... at 44psi cold it may jump as high as 55psi after a few laps of the track.. and at 55psi on the front tyres you may understeer... i used 38psi at track on street tyres.. any less and the car started to feel abit lose.. anyways enjoy on saturday,, you'll have a ball.
  22. i like the look of these,,, i think they look better then the traditional red and black puffy jackets....
  23. exactly...it's tell your ecu to be on cold start all the time,, it's like when you first start the car in the morining and your car rev's that little bit harder to warm the engine... it's like that, only all the time... so you can only imagine how your fuel consumption will be... IMO, i don't believe in $5 hp...
  24. yea they do, i was going to get some sportivo rims for my ascent..
