  2. Take care with the silicone spray so that you only apply it where needed. If you get it on trim that you can touch while in the car, it will not only be annoying as it leaves your hand slippery, but also potentially dangerous as you may not get a good hold of the steering wheel.
  3. If the SV33 lights are somewhat similar in construction to the SV21 headlights, then the inside surface of the glass will not be smooth and clear. This would mean that fitting projectors is not going to be an easy task (ie. not a DIY job unless you have some professional tools).
  4. I may have spoken too much. I'll better not speak of the technique just in case.
  5. He was shooting RAW. I think the first step needed is to get a different LED light. I did notice that the one Michael was using had quite a bit of blue in it which got more pronounced as the battery was discharging. Unfortunately this is just the type of LED's that were in the light. Too much blue, not enough phosphor. I think he was still experimenting with his camera so it yet to get all the white balance settings in order. I'll say it again though, I love the effect. It gives it that 'late at night' look.
  6. You take the centre console out as shown in the head unit removal guide, then you flip it upside down and you'll notice all the pieces held in with screws. Then you can use silicone spray to reduce the plastic on plastic friction that causes the squeaks. The ideal fix would be gluing it all together with epoxy or something. Rest assured that you aren't the only one with the problem. It's common among all Aurions... just some have it more noticeable. Well it doesn't look that cheap. When the music is up and/or the windows are down, the problems go away and that's good enough for me. I'm just thankful my interior hasn't fallen apart.
  7. This one is really bugging me. I really hate the damn song. Not the first day it's been stuck in my head either. Every time I watch TV/Go! and the ad plays, I get the damn thing stuck in my head for the rest of the day. Heard it earlier today and just as it was out of my head, I went down the road to get ice cream and the song was playing in the store. I hate when that happens: KE$HA - TiK ToK Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  8. You may not have the dash rattle, but you aren't immune to the creaking dash problem :P There isn't much solution to it mate. It's how the car is. You can try to lubricating any surfaces the plastic makes contact on the underside with some silicon spray our use an adhesive to completely lock any plastic bits together, but apart from that you are just going to have to live with it. I don't think Rowan ever fixed his when he had his car. Neither have I. There is more than one good use to a subwoofer and loud music.
  9. Be careful with instore test viewing. They do all kind of things to the settings to 'attempt' to make them look better or worse. There are service modes in these TV's which allow you to enable a showroom display mode which turns up settings like sharpness, brightness, saturation etc. To most people, the end result is a TV which would look better if you don't know exactly what you're looking for. In my opinion, these showroom modes make the image worse, but that's how I see things. The point being here is that they can selectivly make a particular range of TV's look wortse than a range that they are trying to push out the door.
  10. Same here mate. Great TV that one. And the EPG on it is quite alright. Also got a 50' Bravia plasma upstairs. Tough call between the two though. Only thing that lets the Sony outweigh the Viera is the fact it has network connectivity with DLNA. Point being, major manufacturers these days are pretty much on a level playing field. Slightly off topic: How about a 103 inch Plasma. I snapped this one in December 2007 when I was over in Japan:
  11. I personally like it... but that's me.
  12. Plasmas used to be a bit behind in terms of resolution, but that was quite a while ago. Thanks to advancements in technology, plasmas have now caught up to LCD's in terms of resolution. Having worked around all three brands listed (as well as both plasma and LCD), I can safely say that all of them are on par with each other. If you are going for the LCD no questions asked, I'd straight away go for the Samsung LED LCD due to the LED backlighting technology. If I was to choose a TV for myself though, I'd be going for the Plasma but this is because plasma has just that slight advantage with the contrast ratio and I do most of my TV watching at night where the plasma performs its best. That said, LED TV's are getting damn close on the contrast ratio side of things. My recommendation though that covers most situations would be a LED TV, and from the Samsung LED LCD you have listed... you can't go wrong. Another bonus with this is the fact that an LCD usually works out to be more space efficient than a plasma... and LED TV's are even better.
  13. Welcome mate. Nice ride going there. I'm not a big fan of the wheels, but everything always has different opinions. Now you need to post more details about what you've got under that Aurion of yours. That's not a Presara :P. Sorry, just being a smarta55. The best you are going to find in the meantime is that available from R.Style as mentioned in the FAQ's.
  14. Good stuff mate. I've considered so many times to change my entire dash cluster to make it more blue, but I kind of like it the way it is to much at the moment. Definitely a nice subtle modification to change the mood.
  15. I didnt buy my car brand new... it was an ex rental so I am not sure if they had some advantage card. From Toyota Service Advantage:
  16. Not if it's dumping it into the stator of the alternator. Just wasted heat.

I came across these the other day. Thought it was quite cool. I feel like sharing: Nails’ life
  22. Oh damn those look nice including the settings. I so want
  23. Good to hear it is fixed. That's quite a bit of power to be drawn. If our alternator was dissipating that heat, it must have been getting warm even with the engine off then.
  24. What is it connected to? I would say it's an intake resonator (there to reduce induction noise) if it is attached to the intake, or the windscreen washer bottle... but that one should be half obvious.
