  1. That really made me laugh. Good call mate.
  2. Definitely do not get a 55 watt HID kit for your low beams if you are driving around suburbs and the City. The HID's are already brighter than stock halogen bulbs even in the projector lenses. That said, when you put 35 watt HID's in projector lenses, they will 'appear' not that bright, but for other road users.. they definitely aren't. If you put in a 55 watt kit, you will definitely be annoying other road users.
  3. bwhaha good point tho, what is the proposed cruise route? I don't think there is a route planned, but it revolves around a mountain starting with the letter N.
  4. Physically, about the only difference you would find between a 2007 and 2008 model Aurion is the VVT-i oil line. This changed from a metal/rubber version to an all metal version around mid 2008. Apart from that, a 2008 model may have minor ECU updates for the gearbox, but this is not confirmed and even still, they would be able to be applied to a 2007 model suring a service. Not all 2009 models are the facelift model as well. The facelift was released around September 2009.
  5. Should do a manual calculation like the title states to show the accuracy of that figure. That's why I started this tread in comparison to the other threads: Fuel economy advice Fuel Use?????
  6. Damn. That Rolla screams. I love it.
  7. I haven't had my noise come back since that last service. I'm at 88,300km at the moment and haven't had a slight re-appearance of it, despite being close to it's next service.
  8. Yeah... and don't they cost like USD$30,000 or there abouts.
  9. Off topic, the Aurion allows you to lock with the remote then unlock the drivers door with the key manually and the alarm will not go off. When I first tried this out, I was actually expecting the alarm to go off cause most cars I've dealt with in the past work that way.
  10. ^ So this means we'll expect to see more of the Celica? Well maybe not this Saturday unless you uber game.
  11. I just remembered a couple of others: "Hey. Why don't you sit in my lap and we'll talk about the first thing that pops up." Another is to get a blank business cards and write on then "Smile if you want to sleep with me". Hand them out and watch them try to hold their smile back.
  12. Not particularly, but your response just reminded me of a critical point... gears. The gearbox is designed to shift into 6th gear as quickly as possible. As the 1:1 gear is the 4th gear, 5th and 6th serve as your overdrive gears. As a result, you won't get much power out of these gears, so when you put your foot down to accelerate, it needs to drop these two gears at the least before you get some decent pulling power. The gearbox is fairly laggy as it is, so this really adds to it. Come to think of it, this would be the more appropriate answer to your question. I wasn't thinking that well at the time.
  13. "I can see you." [if they they reply 'yes' or something along those lines] "Great! Then how about tomorrow." "You must be tired because you’ve been running through my head all night." "If I could rearrange the alphabet, I'd put U and I together." Another one of those phone ones: "There is something wrong with my mobile phone. It doesn't have your number in it."
  14. All metal pipe. One of the first things I looked at when I lifted the bonnet on the facelift. The pre-facelifts even have the all metal pipe starting from around mid to late 2008.
  15. Late reply... but good advice. I was a little luckier. Just hit the back of my head hard on the headrest. Then the second time around, learnt that grabbing it at 9 and 3 o'clock and wriggling it was more effective. Yeah. Not working here as well. Either the site hosting it is temporarily down, or the hosting for the photos have expired.
  16. Serious. That's pretty dodgy. Search the net for clear LED replacements (as in replacing the whole thing). Probably more cost efficient.
  17. I'll answer what I can: It will be a straight fit providing: - Everything lines up. In other words, the gauges and warning lights are in the same place as what the overlay has. - The KPH scale is a 1:1 match to your current cluster. I wouldn't be concerned about the fit. What you should be concerned about is the beam pattern. The American beam pattern is the reverse to that of Australian headlights. This means that for Australian cars, the headlight has a short cutoff to the right hand side of the car. This is to provide maximum visibility with minimal glare to oncoming traffic. For American cars, there is a short cutoff to the left side of the car for the same reason. If you put American headlights on an Aussie car, you will end up with the wrong beam pattern resulting in either excess glare to oncoming traffic, reduced visibility, or both. Example of American beam pattern:
  18. Some guy's allegedly done a 1.04:88 with his R.Colt. http://rcolt.com/showpost.php?p=22385&postcount=53
  19. No worries. I was trying to use the handy parts reference site "ToyoDIY.com" to obtain the part number, but it doesn't appear to be showing the MCV20R when you select the appropriate parameters (Region: Other, Year: 1999, Make: Toyota, Model: Camry). Usually it is fairly useful, never got a part number wrong for my Aurion anyway, but this time it is not behaving. Maybe I would suggest visiting there yourself and entering you VIN number to see what it returns. It's just to make it easy when you call to enquire. Otherwise, I'd just say to call Toyota and let them look it up.
  20. Because I have answered this before, I will simply re-quote to save time. Different model, but same thing: Spoiler Brake Light I personally haven't payed attention to the spoilers on those, but by the way you describe it, I would say it uses LED's for the brake light like a majority of spoilers out there. In that case, you either change out the entire LED strip, or you can take the most cost efficient approach and de-solder the busted ones and put some new ones in. Provided you know how to solder. As for the costs, I'm not too sure what Toyota would charge for it but they would sell it as the entire assembly (plastic lens and all). If you can tell me which Camry you have (like SXV11 or whatever... I'm not good with that) I can look the part number up for you to save time. I would predict at least $50 though. Replacing the LED's individually though would be more cost efficient as you can pick up a pack of like 20 LED's for under $10.
  21. Sure did. I just love how it handles now. I never would have thought the TRD Aurion suspension would make a significant difference. I think people overstate that one. Though I was in a little bit of a panic because not only did I have to pay attention to the road ahead, but I had to make sure I did nothing too sudden so as to keep my rear end in one piece. Now I understand how unsettling it is to have someone right up your a** on a mountain run.
  22. Usually if you are searching for pedals and a shifter knob in carbon fibre, this is where the internet comes in handy. Something like this is not what you;d typically find in stores. As for the glow gauges, I've seen these types of things pop up on eBay quite a bit. The designs may vary though. Usually you just search for "Celica gauges" or something along those lines. Such example is something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-99-TOYOT...sQ5fAccessories You would need to compare the gauge position to yours though as these are usually an overseas item.
  23. Did the exact same thing around Nebo except I gave my rear brakes a good hard bedding in. Sorry Phil, but as much as you won't like to hear this, I am giving some good credit to the Ralliart Colt.
  24. Both. First one was from Thursday at Indro, bottom two were at Wellington Point on Friday.
  25. DJKOR

    2006 Toyota Vitz
