  1. Probably won't be around for a little while guys. Got Glandular Fever in the first stages and it feels like death right now. Don't really know how long the bulk of the pain is meant to last, but I guess once/if it starts to ease off a little, I will start to make an appearance again.
  2. Out of curiosity; to the all-metal one, or the 'revised' rubber/metal version?
  3. The stock Aurion rotors are 296mm. Remember that to upgrade rotor diameter, you need to upgrade callipers which can then start to get pretty costly.
  4. Hmmm. Sounds like your brother may be quite stuffed. Always have to be cautious when an offer is too good to be true.
  5. I think you will find that the American's also have a similar view to the Camry as we do here. You also need to remember that there is a larger population in America and this makes the car more common there. The price. That's what makes it a good seller.
  6. I would steer clear of LED replacements like that. They aren't that bright and they will leave you rather disappointed. I would chose an LED replacement (like those you find on eBay) that looks like this:
  7. It's a passive RFID override. In a way it is waterproof, but should you get water on the components and don't let it dry properly (or get salt water on it and don't rinse it), then you can damage the components.
  8. With the Smart Entry, if you battery is flat you can hold the key up to the start button (the Toyota logo held close to the start button), then you quickly pull the key away and immediately press the start button.
  9. The Aurion does have quite a bit of power, but you need to remember that this power is made higher up in the rev range when compared to other 6-cylinder cars like Holden and Ford, and other turbo 4's. As well, you need to remember that the ride of the Aurion is quite smooth (relatively) and this masks up a bit of the power that it has. I haven't had issues with radio reception and the demister so this is probably a minor fault with that Aurion. As said, the radio antenna is built into the rear window glass. The stock stereo is not made to be pumping out loud bass. It pumps out some bass but if you try to push too much out of it, it just won't cut it and it will sound a little off. Put in a subwoofer though and let the stock stereo just handle the mainly the mids and highs and you should be sweet.
  10. Nice times you've got there. Good work. Especially for a Camry of that age.
  11. That's correct. It doesn't quite prevent you from losing control, but it tries to help keep you in control. Here is a video that gives you an idea of it all. From 2 minutes onwards you can see the VSC test: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  12. The differences between the S and SL is basically the same as the differences between the SX6 and the ZR6. The SL (like the ZR6) has extra features like Smart Entry, moonroof package available as an option, passenger power seat, dual zone climate control, reversing sensors, etc. As well, for the SL, you get the plum leather interior instead of the red leather.
  13. It comes with some insulation around the wires that connect to the motor itself, but I also put some cable loom around it as well to be on the safe side. I also tied the cables in a way that they sit as far from the muffler body as possible. Haven't had any issues with it.
  14. Nah mate. If anyone has discovered a way... I'd be onto it by now. I've considered tinkering with it myself, but keep reminding myself that if I f** the gearbox.... it's not going to be cheap.
  15. So.... found any parameters you can tinker with that can provide some good benefits (like adjusting the way it shifts etc)?

    bugatti crash

What perfect timing as well: http://jalopnik.com/5404403/exclusive-vide...ne=true&s=i
  17. Well technically the AT-X does have a trip meter but just the basic one in the sense that it can display the distance travelled. I'm pretty sure this is the case with the new AT-X as well, but it will not have the multi-information display what can show you your fuel consumption and distance remaining. This isn't an option that can be added and as far as it goes, there is no way to 'unlock' such feature like other cars. You can add aftermarket options though that connect to your car via the OBDII socket. Such an example is the ScanGauge II.

    Driving Lights

Good choice with HID's for your driving lights. Just make sure you take care of them to help improve their lifespan. Such things as letting them run for as long as possible and if you turn them off... wait about a minute (if possible) before firing them up again. Answered this in your other thread: HID Ballast Buzz
  19. The buzzing is completely normal. It is usually of a higher frequency during the startup phase, but then drops down a bit once the lamps are warmed up. The reason for this is because the lamps require approximately 200 volts to maintain the arc that produces the light (after the initial ~23kV pulse used to establish the arc). Because you car only outputs 12v or there abouts, the ballast needs to step this voltage up. Only thing is that the input to the ballast is DC. To be able to step up the voltage, this needs to be turned into AC and then the voltage is stepped up. In short, the process involved to step up the voltage creates that buzzing sound.
  20. In following with the OP's question, I would have the impression that if you can't prove that someone else was driving your car, you are going to cop the fine. This is what they say here for QLD, but I would think that WA would think the same: Usually they have the high res photos available on request. Give the a call to see if they will be able to provide you with one.
  21. As stupidly crazy and dangerous as that is, you have to give it to those guys for doing that to a Camry.
  22. LOL. Will you really try? Or will it end up like this again:
  23. I haven't changed mine because it's not something that I think would be noticeable enough to justify changing it. It's actually a surface mount LED. I wouldn't recommend changing it unless you are good with a soldering iron. To access it, you need to take the door trim off. After that, you could probably figure out the rest.
  24. Please someone buy those rims. If I see them gone it will make me feel better. The timing just isn't quite right for me.
