Yeah but what would you rather sacrifice... the boooossstt.... or your fuel economy?
-
I think that someone is going to have to be 'legend_of_lazz' for now. You may need to be patient because he is probably in Europe now and may or may not have fitted his head unit.
-
Oh yeah. I just noticed you are in Brisbane. Well if Toyota can't get anywhere and you get your car back, I'd be willing to try and see what we can find by process of elimination.
-
That really does sound like a nightmare. It's leaving me quite stumped as well. Maybe it could have something to do with the charging regulator or anything to do with that. I'm really not sure. This is something I'd have to look at myself.

keurk-uh keruhk - rattling sound from engine when driving
DJKOR replied to EK1's topic in Camry Club
Tried changing down a gear when going up said hill? As well, tried using premium unleaded? Nearly sounds like pinging to me. -
I would say all the driving related things that annoy me, but that is for another thread (I think there is one already), because the list just goes on and on. As for things in day to day life that bug me... well where to start as well. Well the first thing on my mind as it happened again recently is people and commercial airlines. Like when the plane lands and everyone is in such a rush to get off that they all stand and just wait there in the isle. I just keep seated till the crowd settles a bit and even though I am like 3/4 towards the back of the pack, I still get to the baggage claim and the bags aren't even there yet. Seriously, what's the rush when you will still have to wait for your bags. Next I would have to say people who just whinge and whinge. For example, I was standing in a line that wasn't moving anywhere fast and this old bat behind me was complaining to her husband about how the store should be managed. She just wouldn't stop whinging. I was just about to turn around and say "if you aren't satisfied with the business, then f*** off". I could keep going on and on, but I'm still working so I better get back to it.

From the sounds of your description, yours is the same as the Aurion. With mine, just like yours, it will get to the point that it is tight then it turns just another few millimetres (degrees) clockwise and then has this springy feel on the anti-clockwise return. Rest assured though, it definitely is tight. Think of it like a torque wrench. Just one click is all you need. I know what you mean about the feel though. My old Camry, you could just keep turning it indefinitely and it would just keep on clicking. With that, I would just turn it so that it clicks around 4-5 times and then be satisfied.

Almost guaranteed a fix if you know this bloke... lol. I know him personally and seeing him and Anthony in Byron Bay going "blah blah blah you can do it this way... blah blah blah" and I sit there going <_< Yeah man. David is like the king of the Camry.
-
Now you're a thinker. Actually, this is what SupaTouring (David) was thinking would be a good idea (discussed with him a couple of weeks back)... and he has some good advice and suggestions. Main thinking behind this is because the bends in the pipe look quite good as they are and the crush is probably the point of restriction.

If only this was easier to do in real life. My local shops is like a 10 minute walk away from home. Despite having a bike as well (which I haven't used since I got a car) and the short distance of the shops, I'm still that lazy that I would drive there and even spend many minutes driving around trying to find a parking space. Man that is lazy. Very good recommendations there by the way.

Nice. Have you got some pics... or are they just not loading for me?

Some members here have reported that the camber kit (camber bolts) do in fact work at fixing that pulling to the left issue, however this would do so at the expense of potentially increased camber wear on your tires. I personally see it as a 'cover up' in that sense. The caster kit from Fulcrum however fixes the correct part that is out of alignment without any trade-offs. It's up to what you want to do though. Extra camber may be what you want so you can kill two birds with one stone.

Check out this thread found with the search parameter of "delay": Auto Headlamps

Yeah, that's a little too complex for the application I think. Thanks for putting the effort into it though. I haven't had any issues with the Ryco one so far so I'll leave it in till next change. Thought I may as well give it a try since the extra surface area may mean it won't get dirty as quick.

Firstly I would say the balance is off so getting it aligned again would be a good idea.... preferably that they fix it for free. Secondly, how sure are you that a wheel weight actually fell off. It is common for you to have wheel weights removed when you get a new tire fitted and a re-balancing. As each tire can have it's variations, your previous wheel balance may not work for the new tire, hence why they remove weights. Whenever I get a new set of tires, I nearly always have little patches of adhesive residue left behind on the indise of my wheel from when they remove it.
-
I think after all this time... my answer in the FAQ is still valid: They will usually try to say to you that they will jsut have to do a wheel alignment and that would fix it etc, etc. This however never really seems to fix it properly. If it is persued with them for a while, they may fit the part specified above, but it usually takes a bit of effort to get them to do it.

I'm still laughing. Everyone always gets hyped up all the time about comparing kilowatts without paying attention to torque. You do realise that the R8 also produces much more torque than the TRD Aurion. A whole 150Nm more than the TRD. When combined with proper gearing, this torque will leave the TRD behind. As for the 0-100 video, that barely proves anything. Because it is only filming the speedo, they could have easily made the conditions more favourable as HT has already said. And onto that original quote again: That is a bit of an over-statement I would say. If you were to push the TRD to it's limit and then run the R8 to be at the same pace, fuel consumption would probably be close to equal.
-
Jokes on you because the TRD doesn't stand a chance in a "proper" race.

Just a quick note on this one (a bit late as well), surface rust on the rotors doesn't particularly mean that it has been there for a "looooooooong" time. I have seen cases of rotors starting to get that rusty look only after one day of being parked in the rain. When that happens, give it a few more days and it can look even rustier. Nothing to worry about. After all, the surface of the rotor is bare metal and is more exposed to the elements.

I would clamp it to your credit card so that you can't use it again for such a purchase. Alternatively, just use them as a fridge magnet as suggested. If they made them out of the proper Neodymium and not the cheap and weak ferrite stuff, they will serve you greatly because they can hold up quite a bit. If they are the Neodymium ones as well, they also serve to be a great magnet for magnetising screwdrivers. Judging from the fact you managed to purchase on of these, I feel that I should also warn you about these other common scams that are out there: Vortex Fuel Saver Hiclone +20HP etc Performance Chips Toyota Aurion OBD Performance Flash Chip Electric Supercharger So clamp that magnet to your card and save that money for something useful.

Yup. Thank you muchly Drew.

Bluetooth and Aircon controls! Need help.
DJKOR replied to Silver-Aurion's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
So you are saying that all this time before asking, you didn't even bother pressing buttons and trying this out for yourself Could have easily answered your own question. -

DJKOR replied to Silver-Aurion's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
So to answer my question (since I don't have the climate control)... have you tried to turn your climate control off, then while it is off, press either fan speed up or down to see if it turns on to your last settings? As per the manual, pressing Auto will automatically set the settings to the most suitable ones for the current conditions. Therefore any time you try to manually override it, it will be from the settings that the Auto control has set. If in doubt, try turning it off then pressing each button besides 'AUTO' and the fresh air/recirculate button. If no other button turns it on then it looks like the Auto button is the only one to use, and if another button turns it on to your last settings, then you have answered your own question. Well I guess it's time to wash the wax off the car then, pick up a clay kit, and start from scratch. Weekend project for you. -

Whether or not that answers your question depends on whether you have tried what VF-X was saying. Have you attempted to turn your climate control back on (after turning it off) by pressing either fan speed up or down? How about the mode button beside it? -
If this occurs when there is definitely no slip, it can usually indicate one or more of your ABS sensors (located on each wheel and monitors rotation) are not functioning 100%. This would mean that for example, one sensor is not seeing one full revolution as such and it would then think it is slipping. If it was to only occur once in a blue moon, I wouldn't really think about it much, but if it happens say more than a few times in a few days or so, I'd definitely see if Toyota can check it out.
