A huge muscular man walks into a bar and orders a beer. The bartender can’t help but stare at the guy because in contrast to his large muscles, the man has a head that is the size of an orange. The bartender hands the guy his beer and says, ”You know, I’m not gay but I want to compliment you on your physique, it really is phenomenal! But I have a question, why is your head so small?” The big guy nods slowly. He’s obviously fielded this question many times. ”One day,” he begins, ”I was hunting and got lost in the woods. I heard someone crying for help. I followed the cries and they led me to a frog that was sitting next to a stream.” ”No ****?” says the bartender, thoroughly intrigued. ”Yeah, so I picked up the frog and it said, Kiss me. Kiss me and I will turn into a genie and grant you three wishes.”’ ”Keep going!” I looked around to make sure I was alone and gave the frog a kiss. POOF! The frog turned into a beautiful, voluptuous, naked woman. She said, ”You now have three wishes.” I looked down at my scrawny 115 pound body and said, ”I want a body like Arnold Schwarzenneger.” She nodded, snapped her fingers, and POOF there I was, so huge that I ripped out of my clothes and was standing there naked! She then asked, ”What will be your second wish?” ”What next?” begged the bartender. I looked hungrily at her beautiful body and replied, ”I want to make sensuous love with you here by this stream.” She nodded, laid down, and beckoned to me. We made love right there by that stream for hours! Afterwards, as we lay there next to each other, sweating from our glorious lovemaking, she whispered into my ear, ”You know, you do have one more wish. What will it be?” I looked at her and replied, ”How ’bout a little head?” ------------------------------------------------- A huge earthquake with the strength of 8.1 on the Richter scale has hit Lebanon. Two million Lebanese have died and over a million are injured. The country is totally ruined and the government doesn't know where to start with providing help to rebuild. The rest of the world is in shock. The United States is sending troops to help. Saudi Arabia is sending oil. Latin American countries are sending supplies. The small island country New Zealand is sending sheep, cattle and food crops. The European community (except France) is sending money. The Asian continents are sending labour to assist in rebuilding infrastructure. The Australians, not to be outdone, are sending two million replacement Lebanese.

LOL. That one looks so dodgy: If I was paying for a product like that, I would choose an LCD glass version like this:

This ride looks mental.... or should I say, the guy riding it with no brakes is mental: And in case you are wondering what the ride looks like:

As fun as it would be to own one, after seeing the duller styling, I'm not really keen on one. Had they have chosen to make a factory FI model though.... I'd live with the styling.

I was grounding it to the body of the car using a cable from my multi-meter. Hence "grounding the pink wire".

Well I'll be damned. Seems like rotating the intake 90 degrees is the way to go with it. You already had a catch can though to make it easier to plumb the PCV hose back into the intake. Two questions though: 1) That nearly looks like the intake is putting tension on the silicone reducer (as in bending it slightly). Is that the case? 2) How much clearance is there around the heatshield where the intake goes through it?
-
1) The whine is fairly quiet when you compare it to a traditional roots blower. If you have aftermarket mufflers fitted, they pretty much drown most of it out. TVS whine, LOL. 2) It doesn't roar like the N/A Aurion because the supercharger muffles the induction roar. TBH, the N/A Aurion with intake sounds more aggressive than the TRD with intake.
-
So what did you do about the large hose for the PCV that connects to the intake? Better still, how about a photo?
-
Yeah. In case you haven't read everything that has been said around these forums (which sounds like the case), the K&N Typhoon is not made to fit the TRD which has the throttle body pointing towards the rear (unlike the N/A Aurion which has it pointing towards the front). On top of that, the PCV hose tube is on the rear of the TRD and on the front of the non-TRD so you will need to get some longer hose too. Hope you are good with a hacksaw because you are going to have to cut the intake shorter and modify the supplied heat shield.

Good luck fitting it.

Not really answering the question there. Castrol GTX3 was a mineral base oil, whereas Mobil 1 is a fully synthetic. The price range is completely different and does not really help the OP out if he is wanting something like Castrol GTX3. On topic K8Canb, it appears Castrol have dropped the GTX3 and simply replaced the naming with their GTX Modern Engine range. Having a look at the specifications for the oil, the newer GTX Modern Engine oil meets and exceeds the specification of the GTX3 oil. So in that case, if you can't find any left over stock of the GTX3, you would be fine moving to the GTX Modern Engine. For further information, you can compare the two here: GTX 3: http://www.castrol.com/liveassets/bp_internet/castrol/castrol_australia/STAGING/local_assets/downloads/g/GTX3_B1768_04.doc GTX Modern Engine: http://www.tds.castrol.com.au/pdf/9981_GTX_15W-40_467161_2010_09.pdf

Beats me. You'll need to do some more digging around. Sometimes you just have to make some enquiries here and there. At the end of the day though, it's just another Aurion. The TRD's are declining in value like any other car and are being picked up by people who don't really care about the rarity of it... hence the minimal information floating around.

2011/12 Toyota Aurion Seems the statistics were a little off the mark: 209 Ink.....................237 (38.0%) 1D4 Silver Ash.........233 (37.4%) 3R3 Wildfire...............99 (15.9%) 061 Diamond White...47 (7.5%) 8T4 Tungsten...............7 (1.1%) You'll now know how unique you really are ...

Well the funny thing is that even if Trent did miss the letter 'O'... and got the n and i the wrong way around, Konig means King anyways. Keep up the mods mate. Save up and spend big... or just spend big if you're loaded.

Normally we do not provide any exceptions for any "For Sale" threads on TOCAU. However, after discussion with a member by the name "Bucca Bill", I have granted a particular exception for him to advertise his car for sale here. This thread is currently a placeholder so he can reply here with the details of his sale. If you have any questions about my exception (or want to say anything off topic), please reserve this for PM. Regards, Daryl K

Fark. What a steal. If your shocks are nearly had, why not replace everything... including the brakes On a side note, it's been a while since I've seen a non-TRD rear brake, but those callipers seem different to what I remember. I guess my memory is very shoddy.

LED headlight modules.
DJKOR replied to ToyotaFreak's topic in General Toyota & Other Car Discussions
It's good to see that they are starting to produce them for real world use (maybe not for passenger vehicle use yet, but they are getting there), however LED's have a bit of a way to come in terms to being truly efficient. HID's still win hands down in that department. If we base a 55W headlight bulb on 1200 lumens, these 23W LED modules at 1000 lumens (shown on their website), and 35W HID's at 3200 lumens, we get: Halogen: ~21 lumens per watt LED: ~ 43 lumens per watt HID: ~91 lumens per watt When you consider that HID's set you back at least half of those LED's, their cost per lumen is at worst half that of the LED's. But all that said, it's still good to see LED's working their way into use like that. Just a little unfortunate that they aren't quite 'there' yet.
