When I ask about being active guys, I don't mean you have to be on the board 24/7. I just mean that if you were to receive a PM asking for assistance and you actually have a minute or two to spare, take that time to help out rather than leaving it till later. So long as you aren't hard to get a hold of, then I would say you are active.

This is already being considered for the short-list. One flaw I made in my post was that I said all States. I think it would probably be wise to no have a mod for the Northern Territory because there is minimal activity there. Whoever gets nominated from South Australia will be classified as a Central Australia moderator.

Save the congrats guys. I'm fine with that :) Well the way it goes, there are going to be no more than 10 moderators (exclusive of Steve). As for the existing moderators, I have no issue keeping the current ones (except for the Club-Bot who is still a moderator) provided that they have no issues with staying as one. They will be contacted though to see if they are comfortable where they are or believe they should let someone else take their role. So that leaves the position open to about 4-6 more moderators. As for having limited roles, all moderators will have the ability to moderate all forums around the club. There are a couple of Admin like abilities that are available to a Super Moderator, but to keep the balance, if there are more than one mod from a particular state, then there will only be one Super Moderator.

Okay guys. We need to get this team organised. We have had quite a bit of talk but it's now time to get serious. I would like people to start listing who they would like to see as a moderator here. Remember that when you think of the word "moderator", don't just isolate that to the forums here. A nominated moderator should also (although it wouldn't be absolutely necessary) be able to represent the club outside of the forum. This means turning up to the occasional meet and socialising as both a friend as a forum member. Because of this, I am looking for at least one member from each State, which includes you guys in Tassie because you hold meets as well. In addition to that, as a moderator, you would need to take on a lager responsibility at meets. There have been reports of driving behaviour from some that can be considered dangerous during a meet/cruise environment. If such a thing was to occur, action should be taken to their membership on the forum. After all, we are out there to support TOCAU and don't want to give ourselves a bad image. As well, being somewhat active would be desirable as well because there are times when a member out there is just looking for a moderator to help them out, but no one is around. Once we come to some form of a list that starts to make sense, it will be then forwarded on to the current moderators and if there are no disagreements, then I will create a new team for us all.

First and foremost, Welcome to the community. Here you will be able to socialise with many other members of the community, seek answers to your questions, or learn something new about your car or other Toyota's. A common question that we receive here from a new member would be: - Why can I not edit my profile information / change my display picture / create a signature? As part of the forum configuration, you are required to have a couple of posts to your name before you have access to such features. Introducing yourself here counts towards that, so feel free to introduce yourself and let us know your story. If you would like to make a signature, may I direct you to the following thread. We don't want to be strict with telling you what to do, but this is just in the interests of the other forum members here to help maintain an easy to follow thread: Signature Regulations Don't forget as well to visit the Members Rides section where you can check out other members cars and to read more about them and/or check the progress of their modification work. Feel free to create a thread here as well to showcase your car. Even if you don't plan on doing modifications to it, think of it as a diary to keep track of anything that you do to it that you think may interest others. So come on, get active and see what the forums have to offer. Remember, before creating a new thread to ask a question, please perform a search. There is a good possibility that what you may have to ask may already been answered. Just remember when searching, the thread titles may not completely reflect your search term. Your search will return threads which contain your search term in the title and/or the actual thread itself. So if it returns a title that sounds sort of what you are looking for, just open the thread and have a quick look. It may just have the answer that you need. Lastly, if you like the community that you have become a member of and would like to show your support, you can become a Club Supporter by clicking on the following link: Become a TOC Supporter Kind regards, The Moderating Team

I've said this before but damn you have skill. I wish I had the ability to even attempt something like that, but I would only get as far as trying the stencil, and even then it will be an epic fail. On a side note about the Camry, the Sportivo's certainly do get that more aggressive look than the Aurion does. Had a white one in my rear vision mirror today and it just looked like something that could suit the track. Well actually the first thing I thought of it when I saw it was "NASCAR".

If you are unsure what you signed in your policy, now would be a good time to take out the documents, otherwise call your insurance company. Now would also be a good time to make a mental note to read your policy documents before entering an agreement. Last thing you want to do is shoot yourself in the foot because you did not pay attention to what you agreed to. Some companies like AAMI for example will set up up on default with a "Agreed value or market value, whichever is greater" type coverage. A situation like this is pretty much as good as an Agreed Value unless of course your car gains value. Hopefully this, or the Agreed Value option is what you have agreed to because this would result in a better payout in your case should it be written-off. As for whether you car is a write-off though, that all comes down to them at the end. If they truly think it is more economical for them to write it off then recover most of their losses through auction etc, then that's it, you get your money (minus any excess). Otherwise they will do the repairs and you get your car back. There is no real set amount underneath the Agreed/Market value where they decide to draw the line, so estimating the repair bill to be 50%/60%/75% of the car's value won't always determine if it's a repairable write-off. That's a case of a repairable write-off though. A Statutory Write-off however would obviously result in a payout. To be considered that though, you usually have to have some crucial damage to the car. This though is all provided that you are eligible to be covered. If you have done anything to your car that is not stated on your policy documents and they find this out, or if you were doing anything illegal at the time and/or not complying with the regulations stated in your policy, then you will not be covered.

Despite thinking of it as a gimmick at first, I too have found it to be great. Only problems I come across (user problems however) are: - Leaving the key in your other pants upstairs/in your room and then you go sit in the car, put your foot on the brake and hit the start button. So far I have done this so many times I have lost count. - You go to another car that you have to drive and instead of unlocking the car the traditional way, you grab the handle and pull expecting the doors to unlock. Apart from that, the system is relatively flawless. In terms of actual issues that can occur, there are only really two that can happen which would be the most hassle: - You are parked in an area close to high powered radio transmitters (like at the Telstra Tower), or in some cases, undercover parking with powerful arc type downlights. These can create interference which can prevent your Smart Entry system from operating correctly. In that case, you will most likely have to unlock the door with the backup key, and then start the car using the procedure that you use when the remote battery goes flat (hold the remote up to the start button, etc). - Someone else happens to hop into your car also carrying a Smart Entry keyfob for their car. This will cause the system to not respond as mentioned above.
-
But it would be epic fail with so much power through the front wheels wouldn't it huh.

Go watch 'Hereafter' and 'True Grit'. Both great movies. 'I Am Number Four' was good at best. I spent most of the part focussing on Dianna Agron (Sarah) though.

Welcome Alex. Excellent choice in colour to get a brilliant shine. Just have to keep her clean. Hopefully I have given you enough pointers to get you going.

A large rocker switch is going to be rather 'firm' so to speak. You want a switch that is light to the touch... but I'm being pretty picky here. Think a bit more realistically. How often do you think you are really going to switch between the different states? I use a ON-OFF-ON switch set exactly like the dome light and find that it says on the 'DOOR' setting 95% of the time. The only time I switch it is because I don't want it on (leaving doors open when cleaning) or if I need to turn it on to find something I dropped. Because of that, I placed the switch were it is still easy to access, but it is relatively hidden. In the forward position it is set to 'DOOR' since that's where it spends most of it's time, so angled forward helps hide the switch in more, and when it is flicked backwards, it is set to 'ON':

I haven't had many cars tinted but I only have two personal recommendations. One unfortunately no longer exists, so it is now just one. For reference though in case anyone knows where they disappeared to, I will include the first one. 1) Revive Window Tint. These guys were located at what is now the entrance to the Clem 7 on Lutwyche Rd, Windsor. The used 3M branded tints and they did a mighty good job. Great prices as well. Ever since they started work on the Clem 7 and ICB though, they disappeared. 2) Tint a Car Milton. I had my first Aurion tinted there. Was about the typical going rate of $395 for Midnight Express. They did a great job and were available the next day after I stopped in to enquire. They tint cars for Mercedes dealers and other prestige dealers nearby so their work is of a good standard.

The OEM design switches that are purpose built to fit those panel blanks are push button switches only with either a momentary on or a ON/OFF toggle. They will also come labelled for a specific purpose. You can keep searching day and night for a specific one that mates your description, but the road is going to be a long one that may or may not have an end. It doesn't surprise me that Toyota don't even have the type of switch you are after. It's not something they are required to make.

So after being a fan of Sonax for a while, I have finally changed brands. The last time I was in Autobarn, the friendly salesman managed to convince me to buy some Bowden's Own Auto Body Wax. I had already hear some positive words from others on the forum here, but I was still a little sceptical since it sounded like the guy was talking it up a bit. I figured I may as well try it out though so I got a bottle. Tonight I finally gave it a go. All I have to say is that I am thoroughly impressed and I think I will be sticking with this wax instead of the Sonax. This wax is not only easy to apply, but it comes off even easier when dry and leaves no streaks or powdery residue. They certainly aren't kidding when they describe the product on their site. The finish is also very slick and it definitely glistens. So if I was to recommend a wax, Bowden's Own is certainly on my list. Doesn't prove anything, but damn I like seeing a reflection:

Edit: Nevermind

But it could be way far from their reserve price. And sure anyone would probably buy it over an Aurion any day, but what's the point if you can't register it for use on the road.
-
Well, the original intention of the thread was to discuss what crazy ideas you would have for your Aurion if you had the funding. It wasn't here to start yet another FWD vs. RWD vs. AWD discussion or to point out what you may think the Aurion should have been. These things have already been talked about to a large extent and are quite pointless IMO because there is no point crying over spilt milk.
