  1. this is one of the reason why i hate that we dont have lemon laws in australia .... in the US u would have a brand new car by now. It is possible for a cut in a hose to not leak under no load but to open up under load ........ basically by loading up the engine increases the rubber hoses pressure & expands the rubber and walla the cut opens up and it leaks ...... but yeah this sounds to me like a straight case. I wouldnt settle for a new engine hit them up for a new car ...... no way could they win given the car was on the road for 1 day and then blew up.
  2. LOL ..... so i take it the sussy worked out then ???? as stated stock size is 195/60/15 so since ur running a smaller profile then ur speedo will be off ...... by the calculations its 3.2% off so when ur speedo says 100 u r actually doing 96.8km/h so going physically slower. hey thats one way to ensure u never get fined if ur sis sticks to what the speedo says ...... lol
  3. grab me at the meet tomorrow night and we'll talk
  4. mate good to see you are keeping it on the track ...... the boys in blue patrol internet forums regularly looking for people who just admit to breaking the law thinking they are anonymous on an internet forum .... good on you. Well i havent done any circuit work just yet but down the 1/4 my sportivo has put quiet a few cars to shame ...... check out my 1/4 video ...... and just browse youtube to see what others do the 1/4 in ...... not bad for a sportivo ;-)
  5. u sure u searched :P :P :P ..... use this search as i have found it a bit better than the google search http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=search i just did a search and found this - South Africa? Japan? Is there a way to tell the difference? - http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3837
  6. hey mate, welcome to the forum ..... ok as u can imagine this forum has been running for a while and u r probably not the first person to ask the question of oil type so i will point u in the direction of where u can find info Corolla Engine Oils & Gearbox Oils - http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=25071&view=findpost&p=364463 also based on this chances are most questions u can think of have already been asked so why not look here before making a new post The TOCAU ZZE Corolla FAQ - http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=24512 regarding the clutch pedal thing i have seen this on a few cars as like a safety / security feature ..... i wasnt aware that any of the toyotas had it but we dont get the fiedler so maybe it does come on that car. also regarding oil numbering here is a write up to explain what the w stands for & it aint watts as thats an electrical term ;) http://www.funtrivia.com/askft/Question33842.html
  7. before u go and buy anything here is a simple piece of advise ....... head into a battery world and simply explain to them that ur not sure if ur alternator or battery or both are dead & that u want to be sure about what ur issue is before u buy anything & ask them if they can come out and have a look ..... i have found these guys to be very helpful and he should come out and take a look and hook a multimeter up to it and let u know what the situation is ...... it could simply be the battery BUT if the alternator is gone it sounds like at this stage it might have taken the battery with it ........ if u have NRMA roadside assistance they would do the above for u for free as part of the membership & tend to sell batteries at a reasonable price. again if u could answer the q's kenshin that would also help us to help u
  8. Like I said, from memory. Maybe Xoom will chime in with his comments on the Moroso since he has one. the moroso is ever so slightly lower ..... im talking a factor of a few mm's ..... i had to cut a bit of the plastic under body pieces due to this ..... where they get most of the extra capacity is by stretching & elongating the stock sump's shape in the length & width department rather than the depth and by adding an extension on the front of the sump ..... some of the turbo kits run their piping along the front of the sump so if u went with a moroso that path isnt feasible anymore due to this extension. It was ages ago though that I had any part in fiddling with this side of the engine so i might grab some measurements of the stock sump depth and the moroso just to be sure for u when i get a chance.
  9. so when is the 7M or the 1J or 2J going in ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
  10. see http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=29162

  12. but it was democratic ...... lol
  13. rip out the 2ZR and drop in a 2GR ;) ;) ;) ;) ok back to reality ....... the usual mods mate ..... CAI, extractors, exhaust, system etc ...... search through the forum there are plenty of others which should give you enough inspiration.
  14. So let me get this right , Evo beats Sportivo ? Well then WRX beats Evo , then we come with our Sportivos and beat the WRX ... there i have it sorted now.. As for the Mums Auto and the Church bus , we will let the Evo race them as its the slowest in the pack .. (ie evo) This thread is way out of control and over the top silly .. hahahahahahahha ...... love it well here is my response to all of this ......  ...... its a special video i made for a mate who owns a rexy after he gave me sh.1.t all day for driving a corolla ....... OWNED .... lol
  15. it sounds more like a grounding issue to be honest.
  16. interesting that the AWD model is actually mated to the 2.4L engine ..... hmmmmm ..... interesting .... also u can find everything u wanna know by browsing toyota.com it seems all the corollas in the US are sedans and yep the matrix is the hatch this being the case we would need to drop the corolla hatch to get the matrix in ...... however this being said i wonder if there would be a market for selling a sports hatch with a bigger donk in the front ..... also i dunno how well it performs given that it weighs over 1400kg's ...... anyway as i said for more info check out www.toyota.com
  17. chances are u probably only needed to replace the o-ring unless the case-cap was also busted either way good to hear u have it sorted
  18. guys to clarify u work ur way up the tax brackets ...... u dont get lumped into a particular bracket and get wacked @ that rate ..... Tax rates 2010–11 Taxable income Tax on this income 1) 0 – $6,000 Nil 2) $6,001 – $37,000 15c for each $1 over $6,000 3) $37,001 – $80,000 $4,650 plus 30c for each $1 over $37,000 4) $80,001 – $180,000 $17,550 plus 37c for each $1 over $80,000 5) $180,001 and over $54,550 plus 45c for each $1 over $180,000 so based on the above if u earn't $85,000 in the 10/11 financial year then u will fall into bracket number 4 and assuming no deductions or any other funny business u will be taxed $17550 + (5000*0.37) = 17550+1850 = 19400 Making ur gross pay 85000, tax of 19400 and net pay 65600. To show that u work ur way up the brackets break the 85000 down to each bracket 0 to 6000 = 0 tax 6001 to 37000 = (37000 - 6000) * 0.15 = 4650 37001 to 80000 = (80000 - 37000) * 0.3 = 12900 80001 to 85000 = (85000 - 80000) * 0.37 = 1850 Add it all up and u get $19400 ........ hey what do you know the totals match ;-) Hopefully that proves that u work ur way through each threshold rather than being dumped into the threshold where ur gross income lands.
  19. i can say i am one of the guys that has gone to extremes to creating the "extension of myself" through my car ..... lol ..... and reality is as much as i say no more cash is going into it and no more modding and its time to sell it i always get pulled to the fact that "man all that sweat n hard work ...... i just cant put a price on it that the car would then sell " ....... barring any financial circumstances i will keep on keeping on with cars .... its in the blood and it would b damn hard to stop ..... as i said knock on wood no financial circumstances force my hand but its easy to slow it down but damn hard to stop completely ....... the bigger question though is are the older generations being replaced amply with the younger generation of modders ...... currently i would say it is however per the clip the authorities/laws/regulations etc are making it harder and harder ....... 10 yrs ago i remember far more ppl in the car scene than now ...... so if thats an indication ........
  20. well mate just give MWR a call and im sure they will connect u with a 2L stroker kit ;) ;) ;) ;)
  21. i would love to be proven wrong but we will never see the matrix in aus ...... regarding the 4wd it isnt exactly a performance 4wd setup ..... they get them in europe and in japan but usually mated to a diesel engine ...... the performance setup which i think once again we wont be seeing as mentioned above is the blade and in particular the blade master G ........ once again we wait to see a proper performance setup and not just a bolt-on hack as we have seen to date.
  22. A video i took while on my recent holiday in Spain ...... I dont condone animal cruelty but this happens every weekend in madrid. From the latests new though this "sport" might be banned soon
  23. usual places mate ...... ebay, toyota etc ...... but as stated unless there are visibility issues they are a defect waiting to happen if the cops wanna be really annoying ...... dont get me wrong i occasionally drive with them on but i have also been warned a few times when getting RBT etc to flick them off.
