  1. To reduce pollution Removing the EGR increases pollution. The EGR is designed to recirculate exhaust gases in order to reduce NOx levels and meet emissions regulations. In doing so this it hinders performance. People remove this system in order to gain the power lost.
  2. Does the central locking work? Does the boot light work? Does all of the instrumentation and shift lever lighting work?
  3. It will likely be the VVT-i assembly located in the end of the intake camshafts. We had it rather bad, so I moved to a thicker grade oil(still within specs) and haven't had any issues or rattles since. Does it go away a few seconds after starting?

  6. Buy a cheap multimeter or test light, then cycle the key as you check for voltage. It is very simple to do.

  9. Of course it will, at the specified interval. You generally won't have an issue if you use OEM parts.
  10. Why not rule it out by either buckling the seat belt or removing the booster seat. If it has a warning, there will likely be a pressure sensor.
  11. The oil pump should have 2 seals. One is an o-ring type gasket, the other is a typical shaft seal.
  12. Assuming that it is an ACV36 or MCV36, this might be helpful.
  13. Your question is not very clear, which globe do you need to get to? Tail light? Headlight?

  16. Under the timing cover, you will have the camshaft, crankshaft and oil pump seals. Cleaning it is really the only way to get a good indication.
  17. A mate of mine used to weld for Beaudesert exhaust. They look like a quality system, however I have not personally used them.
  18. Note that only the 3-rib/bluetop bigport 4AGEs have the screw-in air temp sensor in the intake plenum. 7-rib bigports and smallports have them as a plug-in sensor in the airboxThis is true. You will be paying in the $80-$90 range for an OEM one as well.

  20. They are far more common on European built vehicles. They seem to be spreading into other markets progressively.
  21. Yep, the ACV36 is the 4cyl, where the MCV36 is the V6.
  22. There are special tools, like this, that are designed to do the job properly.
  23. It's not hard, but it will take time.
