  1. Be aware of any abnormal sounds(clacking) upon starting, could be as a result of a VVT-i issue. Check to see if appropriate upgrades have been completed in regards to the VVT-i oil line as well.
  2. Fuel usage could possibly be as a result of a faulty o2 sensor or even leaky injectors amoungst other things. As for the white smoke, are you experiencing a loss of coolant, contaminated coolant or milky oil?
  3. You have got to be kidding me, this is the most petty form of complaining that I have witnessed in my years on this forum. Just deal with it, add 4kph to your indicated speed and accept that 95% of new cars have this 'error' built-in, intentionally! Oh yeah, stop digging up old threads as well.
  4. Does this issue really warrant the title "HELP"? Answer: EBAY!
  5. I know it's from QLD not NSW, but it is an interesting read. They are able to capture cars travelling in either direction due to new filters. http://www.police.qld.gov.au/Resources/Internet/services/reportsPublications/bulletin/325/documents/page%2028_Smile%20youre%20on%20speed%20camera_1.pdf
  6. It might be time for a driving style change Ben, your infringement history is quite long from memory.
  7. Actual turbos are extremely efficient, think about it, it is using waste gases to effectively create more power/efficiency, why would you want to create an extra load on the vehicle in order to create power?
  8. If the effort is taken to complete a 5S-GE, you might as well put a turbo on, because it is a fairly big job. Depends how reliable you want it. It can be as cheap or expensive as you want it to be. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/tutorials/article/20-the-big-5sfte-post/
  9. They aren't a common write off, sell and buy a TRD, supercharging process immediately complete.
  10. Sorry, I have to agree with the police. I could see the traffic was pretty much stopped and there were cars in that lane, not to mention cleary see the car you hit(regardless of not indicating).
  11. The only crucial belt is the timing belt, the others are just there to make living with the car easier. The car can be run without the alternator being connected, however, beware that the battery will drain much faster and will eventually reach a point where the ECU will not have enough power and the engine will shut off.
  12. 10W-40 is fine, make sure everything gets replaced, it will work out cheaper in the long run. If something was to fail in 6 months, you would be up for the labour charges again.
  13. I'm a big fan of maintaining a stock/OEM style and this is spot on.
