    Bend over, cop the bill, move on. They are not at fault for it breaking. As far as the cost of the driveshaft, that is what you will pay for genuine. Aftermarket is the cheaper option.

    I'm not artistic or imaginative at all, however, pretty much anything would look better than the stock setup. I much prefer the 2nd video you posted, minus the colour change.     This is an example of a design already done, yeah, they are glass, unsure about the aftermarket ones, however, you can get ones with black backings.
