  1. Last nite went to a mates places, we got bored so we decided to do a lap of Chapel Street. Havent been there in a few years, just thought i'd go and check out the local "birdlife" and see if the stivo got any attention. Anyhow it took an hour and a half to do a lap and back, thats how chockers it was. Didnt see any other stivos around, it was all skylines, rexes, and hondas galore. I felt kinda intimidated by all the big turbo's with kits etc, so i gave myself a few metres from the car in front :D , dropped the clutch at 5grand, and lets just say when i hit lift, the whole street echoed, just to let them know i was in town. Even a few guys in their rexes were impressed by the sound and i got a few looks of envy from your typical lancer drivers :D. Alot of people were checking out the car, maybe coz there arent too many in the area, best of all i even got the a long stare from two gorgeous blondes in a convertible CLK. That might not sound like a big thing, but if any of you guys havent been down chappel before, the chicks are the snobbiest ive ever seen. I wouldnt mind a cruise down there one night a few stivos in a row, that would even get the attention of the local cop patrols :D . Anyone encounter similar experiences?
  2. About time we got the ball rolling again B) , we have to do it soon before the crappy Melbourne winter sets in.
  3. Sounds good, but ill only give my number in PM, Im from the Western Suburbs (Hoppers Crossing)
  4. The TRD unit does cost a bit, but i couldnt be bothered looking around, im sure you could get a custom made one for a lot less, i mean all it is really is a pipe with a hole for the air flow meter and a pod, the other parts are easy to get, a few nuts, heck you can even use some parts off the original air box like the hose that connects to the throttle body and use that to attach the cai pipe.

  6. Ive had my car now for a few months. The only niggling problem i have is the noise when rolling backwards if the pads are wet, and my left front shocker is stuffed, i have to see toyota when i get some time before i lower the car. I got the car for around $25Grand on road with toyota employee discount(21%) so i cant complain :D.
  7. A rugby league player turboed his zz celica a few years back, it was in the hot 4's magazine. Cant remember the power but he spent like over 60 grand.
  8. My point is that if you read the article and look at the figures, they different to what toyota claims, both in weight and acceleration. The car weights less and is quicker to 100 than factory claim, and that would make the factory claim of 16.1 secs q/m pretty dodgy. Thats my assumption anyway, i could be wrong, and about dragging a V6 camry manual? who knows? havent dragged one yet.
  9. I wasnt too sure about mobile one man, i needed more advice and the repco salesman wasnt the right person. Next time i might try fully synthetic, when i take her in for a serive, to see what the toyota mechanics will say about it.
  10. Nah man, i think she wanted a bit of "quack quack" :D. You should have been a smarta## and ask for her number so you can give her a call next time you drive .
  11. Good shots, but thers one thing missing, the bikiny models!!! :D
  12. 03 Stivo, black, whats your ride man?
  13. I see your point, but i aint taking the car in every 5000 k's its ridiculous, i can do the stuff myself, i will every other 5000 simply for the stamp
  14. Thats the old sportivo, it didnt have VVTI, only in the new shape rollas they introduced the vvti, hence the power increase from 88kw to 100kw.
  15. Dont know, but im not taking my car in every 5000k's, thats a bit much, I will take her in every other 5000. I think it voids it since its "not a professional" doing the service, i dont know how they can justify 16 year old appentices as professionals though.
  16. I reached 10,000 kms today and decided to replace the oil and filter myself. it took about an hour as i took my time and the sump plug was damn tight, and i dont have ramps, so it was a bit tight. I put Mobil Synth S 10w-40, and repco oil filter. The oil is semi synthetic and cost around $30 dollars, filter was $15. I figured since im gona change the oil every 5000k's it would be pointless to spend $70 on fully synthetic oil. I drained the oil when the engine was hot, it seems to flow quicker. Refilled with about 4.5 liters of new oil which is what the manual says, took the car for a spin and it runs fine.

  18. Welcome aboard mate, it's a corolla forum as the title says so feel free to add your input, cheers :) .
  19. Ok guys, enuff said, there are no winners, lets not destroy this forum please, a bit of respect.
  20. How do you go about servicing the car, do it yourself? it just looks like a real compact engine bay you have in the 4agze, must be hard to work on. The air box takes alot of room, did you consider a cold air intake? They look like real sleepers, i like that subtle appearance, neat work :)
  21. I might have to close down this topic if you guys dont chill out, especially the new guys, everything was just fine till a few days ago. To the ae92 sx owners with 4ag motors welcome aboard, enjoy your stay, feel free to post positive comments and everyone will get along fine. We all love our cars thats why were here, people get very offensive and crap starts spilling out. :) :) , now back to the topic.....anyone still having problems shifting in their sportivo?
  22. Dude, it has 40 more kilowatts that the 4age, how can that not be evolutionary?
