Being serious here. The trd knob is rather short, so you'd have to reach across a bit to shift. From memory the Type B Buddyclub knob wasn't too bad. All in personal taste.

Back to normal for me again here:

JJ should work in performance parts retail.

seriously.. id go to any car accessory store that stocks them and take a closer look before deciding buyin off ebay. it is TRD, but you might not be happy with it! when it comes to TRD accessories like the knobs, fuel covers, etc., it seems like people would only buy it cos it has TRD on it and has nothing to do with performance.. just for looks and bragging rights for saying "i got TRD parts in my car". as x_tarcy said the stock knob is smoother.. so yea its personal taste i guess.

i have a white leather isotta knob..but was a birthday gift! its pretty good stuff! though i wish it was black now coz it looks strange cos everything else inside the car is dark/black. the stock knob was comfortable, but i dont like the hard plastic. but yea i guess just go 4 the knob that makes you happy.

btw the comment i made earlier wasnt intended to be interpreted that way! get your head out the gutter! muahahahaha

Yep, I've got one of them that came with the TRD Shortshifter.

They weigh a lot less than the stock one, which doesn't help the shift when you have a shortshifter.

So I took it off and put the stock one back on --> better shifting now.

If you were in Melb, I'd let you try it for a week, so you could get a feel of the shifting before you buy it...

But like they say, it's personal taste that counts more.

got a short shifter installed. when it was done i jumped in the car and the first thing i did was unscrew the trd nob and put my original one back on. it looks ugly with the trd nob cause the leather dosent stay up so you can see the shifter stick. looks rice.

Best thing you guys can do is feel your knobs in real life rather than over the internet. Only then will you know how much it will weigh, and whether it will help with your shifting.

so what youre saying is your arm isnt long enough to grab your knob?

(sorry that last comment was asking for it lol)

I alway see those TRD on internet, never see the shop selling it.

Does anyone know how to get TRD OEM product offline in Melbourne area? Thank thanks...

toyota dealerships that stock TRD would be a start.

i think i remember seeing one at penrith toyota parts b4? havent been there since mid last year.

there has to be a toyota stocking trd parts in melbourne. thats where toyotas main offices is isnt it? (correct me if im wrong) but i remember being driven past a HUGE building with toyota badging on the side... (didnt look anything like a dealership from the highway).

or maybe a melbourne tocau member has one on their car? try to go to one of the melbourne meets.. maybe you can feel 1 there

yeah u get the trd gear nob with the short shifter. its the round ball looking ones with the leather on it. just dosent look good.

yea they say its only for sportivo but people in here have installed it on their 1zz's without any issues.

yeah but as another member thought, no, unfortunately a ZZE123 gear knob and shifter kit wont give you lift or 6th gear :P

      1zz-fe engine rebuild

      Hello all, Working on my 2002 corolla. It needs a engine rebuild due to burning oil out the back. It has over 400,000 km on it and I havent looked after it. Everything is still original on the motor. The only thing that I have replaced, was the brushes on the alternator. They were completely worn out. I am pulling the motor/gearbox out of the car. Wont know the condition of the block or head until I strip it down. I know the design of the piston where changed in the 2003+ models for more oil holes, which stopped the buring of oil. 1. Was there any other changes made ? 2. Does anyone know of where I can get a engine rebuild kit for 1zz-fe motor in australia ? 3. I have only found one place that I can get a new short motor built but that is in the USA and they do ship to australia but was hoping to find something in australia Thanks for help. Dragon

      2007 Corolla Sedan rear seatbelt question

      Hi everyone, new member here. I've got a small problem which I'm hoping you can help me sort out. I've read the "read me first" thread and done a forum search so apologies if this ends up being a repost. Ok, so I've just has a bloody mouse chew through the rear seat and half (but only half) of every rear seatbelt. Which is nice. So I need to replace them. The problem I appear to have is that none of the local breakers have any suitable vehicles that I can pull them from and the ones I ordered and was sent from the bay of fleas has the wrong brackets on, despite being allegedly for that vehicle. Further searches come up with every seller showing the wrong bracket, so either I've got a special car which is different just because, or (more likely) they don't know their ****s from their elbows what they're selling. I'm after some aftermarket ones as they never get used and just need to be there to get through rego so don't really want to spend a heap of cash I don't have on genuine parts if I can avoid it. I've replaced the centre one (a mate just randomly had it in a box in his shed, which was handy) but still need the left and right. I've attached the bracket type I pulled from the car and need. Is this a standard generic Toyota seatbelt or specific to the 2007 Corolla sedan? Does is need to be specifically for the rear left and right or do front ones fit? Does anyone know where I can source an aftermarket pair? I will really, really appreciate any help offered with this, I know my way around a box of tools but very little about mechanikicing (which is part of the reason why I bought this car - something simple to learn on as repairs/replacements become due) and this is a simple fix which is turning into a drawn out headache.       Hi all, Wondering if anyone has had this issue. I recently purchased a 2007 200 series landcruiser, and the amplifier for the air con unit stopped working. Part number 88650-60D60. (Looks like a circuit board) All controls for the air con now do not work, very frustrating in winter when you dont have any way to unfog your windscreen. Toyota have informed me that they no longer produce this part, and there is nothing superseeded to fit in it's place. My question is has anyone had this problem? If so what did you do to fix it? I have got onto an auto sparky who has had a go at fixing the circuit board but its unserviceable. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

      Engine oil dipstick reading

      Hi guys, Probably a silly question... I'm having trouble reading my engine oil dipstick on my Toyota Hilux 2010 3.0 Turbo Diesel. I have warmed up the engine, turned off for ~10 minutes, parked on a level surface. Pulled out the dipstick, wipe it and insert it back to the bottom and carefully lift it up. I tried so many times and the two sides always look different. I couldn't read it. Maybe I just don't understand how to read it. Could someone help? Thanks a lot!!!
