Just remember evan that you are comparing the washer on top. You can't really see the bushings haha

Also isn't it a b**** to take photos of those bits?

im gonna do it :D

and yeah, it is a bitch trying to take the photo lol :P

Alright,

well guys, after much deliberation, i have found out that YES the bearing kit for the 2zz fits on the 1zz...

BUT and this is a big BUT, the bushing for the Vertical one is outrageously large, and i had to put it back in... which was a serious mission.

But shifting 'feels' alot smoother :D in order for the Vertical one to be done, i would have to get a much larger bearing if that's possible.

So if you want better shifting, only half the kit works for the 1zz's and that's just changing the HORIZONTAL bushing.

I guess thats better than nothing. How much bigger do you need to get?

Posted

About 10mm bigger... if not more... just guessing

ahh good on you for trying Evan...

if you can shoot me some exact measurements i will see what i have here.

damn... i have to pull it apart again, but ok, i will have to do it during lunch time and then i will have a more accurate measurement

Hey Andy, it looks to be about 2.6cm Outer diameter, and the internal diameter is the same as the bearings from the 2zz kit.

Posted

Yes, that's what i measured, the lip on the bushing to hold it in place brings it up to 3cm, so the lip is only 2mm on each side, so take 4mm from that is 2.6cm

OD = 2.6cm

I just had to try it, and now the gears slide in a whole lot better :D

just need to wait and see if Andy can get me the right sized bearing ;)

I know what you mean. I just thought maybe that was because I had a crappy gearbox from the previous owner. When shifting from 2nd to 3rd it feels very rough

well not sure if i am pleased to say... but its got nothing to do with my shifter kits....

BKS its definitly not your kit. I would still recommend this upgrade to people

Shifting will definately feel more postive. So will the defects. If you hadn't felt it before, doesn't mean you wouldn't forever. This mod is meant to remove the free play from your shifter. Not fix sucky gear changes ......

Maybe its time to consider clutch replacement .............

;)

In comparison, my shifting feels sucky all of the time at almost every gear, especially the lower ones. But none the less, I would refuse to go back to rubber ones compare to what I have now.

I wouldn't recommend it... :o

I WOULD PROMOTE IT!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: excellent job Andy :D
