I agree with M_M where are you thinking of living? or What area is your work in? Help narrow it down abit...the rental market is very tight in Sydney, my advice is be really friendly to the agent who shows you they will get some many applications you at least wanna get friendly with them so they remember your name. See as many properties as possible and also apply for as many as you can. When applying make sure you providing as much information as possible, especially in regards to your current work status and also previous rental status. Really the aim is to prove to the agent who can prove to the landlord that you can pay the rent on time and that you will look after the property.

Good luck!

I am looking at coming up on the 1-2 nd wj of sept.

The work place is at Artamon, they have a carpark so I prefer driving to work.

I am looking at 350-400 per week max for a apartment.

Been looking at St leonards, - too expensive

north sydney - too old

homebush bay - ideal price - not too far

meadowbank or north ryde

Hornsby or waitara - thinking abt that - not too pricy

parramatta - maybe too far!

Guess theres no point ringing the agents yet as they rented out very quickly.

I will have 2 months of temp accomodation - properly serviced apartments provided by the company to look for place.

Also dont sure when I can ship my car up here....

Hopefully I can get my car up here ASAP.

hey joey, like i said before, north ryde is the place to be, and is so local to everything. But it seems that its all in that price range anywere. Obviously the closer you are to Sydney CBD the more expensive. Takes me around 20 minutes to get to the city if i leave my place at 7:30am from north Ryde.

but north ryde is near nothing ? its in the middle of no where ? its like no shopping centres, no life ?

parramatta is close to MOST sydney suburbs & city and theres like a westfields and near alot of highways and main places plus theres a train station that is VERY easy to get to LOL

im just speaking the truth, dont get all defensive on me

im giving the guy OPTIONS sheesh kebabs

ps. 20mins drive from north ryde to city is not close, close would be living right in the city

it takes me 35-40mins to drive to the city and i live in fairfield er?

Hey mate...

Homebush, Hornsby area's you'll be sitting in traffic to and from work everyday...

I live in next door to Artarmon and it can sometimes take me 20 mins to get to work (Artarmon) lol...

Heaps of traffic always heading into the city from all directions...

Have you tried Artarmon, Chatswood, Willoughby and any places around there???

I m working at Artamon, st leonards and chatswood would be ideal but by the time if i find one with the carpark will cost me $450 a week!

What about Hornsby or waitara, is there traffic going to artamon?

So can anyone help me?

Does anyone know any real estate ppl?

www.rent-a-home.com.au

www.domain.com.au

look through asian newspapers, they usually put some renting real estate in there for dead cheap

or find a little granny flat to live at :) or like if you go city (sydney) you can find sticky-taped to the poles - people who are looking for room-mates

your gunna have to decide on an area first though before you look - its easier that way

Hmm, I think I m more worried getting my car in sydney first.

Once I have a car, I can go and find the places.

Why dont you just drive your car to Sydney its only a 9hr trip and at least this way you know your car makes it in one piece.
