also read through this http://auto.howstuffworks.com/supercharger.htm ..... with that ebay product i simply cant c how its adding any power ..... in fact all i can see it doing is creating air restriction in your intake causing ur engine to choke .......

Benefits of the Turbo Spiral are:

Increased Fuel Mileage

Increased Horsepower (Kilowatts)

Promotes a Cleaner Environment

Increased Torque

Extends Engine Life

Ok, I can see how idiots can swallow the first 4 "SCAMdvantages" but "extends Engine life"?? LOL

In the Ebay Ad.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. Is this an Electric Supercharger ?

A. No, this is not.

Q. How is the unit powered ?

A. The unit uses your vehicles intake system to power its blades to spin at up to 65,000 RPM. The patented angular blades create greater efficiency in your combustion process. These conditions create better performance at higher gears and increase fuel mileage at lower gears.

Q. Does this unit increase the pressure in the inlet manifold ?

A. This unit does not increase the pressure in your inlet manifold. It increases the efficiency of your airflow into your combustion chamber. This increased efficiency betters your performance and improves your mileage.

That's all you really need to look at to see that this thing is just a plastic circle with fan blades that sits in your intake pipe.

Their key bullsht word is "efficiency".

The displaced voume in your intake that thing occupies, would cause more restriction than benefit it could ever give you...

And because it's cheap junk, you can expect bits of it to go into your engine after 6 months hard boosting @ 65,000rpm... :P

After the whirly bird, the air has to pass through a small gap left by the butterfly in the throttle body and then get churned up inside the plenum and runners before it squeezes through the small ledge left by the valves before it gets into the combustion chamber and then further displaced. Maybe there is a small appreciable improvement at wide open throttle by speeding up the airflow to the throttle body, but I doubt daily benefits could be observed...

I think achieving helmholtz resonance would be much better.

I can't believe people sell crap like this. What I don't believe more are the people that actually fall for it and buy it. I would imagine it charging your engine... with the pieces of badly assembled aluminium that break off when this thing has air rushing past it.

 some dumbass brought one of these (so he called it "supercharger) into my mate's work to get fitted to his VN commodore LOL.

Apparently is was loud as hell. Haha I can imagine if the guy took it to a performance workshop and got it fitted... probably get ripped off huge LOL

to me, it looks as if it will just push air into the engine, but why use one of these if you could use a leaf-blower

Evo

It won't push air Evan. It doesn't have a motor, it's just a whirly bird in a tube. All it does is make the air swirl that passes through it, from after the MAF (if you're smart) to before the throttle body. Which is a very short insignificant distance...

lol they say you get better fuel economy.

so a 7l v8 has better fuel economy than a 3L???????

hahahaha 5 to 10 kw gain lol.

a 7L has only 10kw more than a 3L hahaha.

what a joke!

An American 7L does only have 10kW more than a good Jap 3L :spiteful:
