Toyota looking very good :D note how Ralf was top three in to first two sessions. Ralf has some sensible drivers around him so should survive the 1st lap, just hope Trulli wont get takin out by the aggresive Webber <_<

Honda is looking very good in the top 3.. could it be their time to win?

McLaren looks to be heavy on fuel (smart move i think, cause the passing will be done in the pits stops ;) ) so look out for the silver machines

PS: got the pole bonus pt again :P :P

Damn it.. i initially had Schuey as my pole choice then thought Fisi with his new B-Spec engine might be a surprise but we will see how quick he really is during the race.

And Honda surprised me, they were very low key in the lead up to Imola, trying to sort out their tyre temp issues and i don't think they are running very light either for race day.. as Button says:

Button admitted he was surprised to see Fernando Alonso back in fifth and the McLarens on the fourth row: “We’ll have to see how the race pans out, but either they must be stopping very, very late or they made mistakes, I don’t know.”

But then again it could be Button trying to get back at Alonso making a comment that Honda seems to be out of contention this year.

I picked the Renault boys this race but i hope Honda wins! :D

And Toyota looks good too, they have bounced back well with Ralph and Trulli doing pretty well. :)

Honda is going to choke....

assuming there is no trouble for them...i think its an easy 1-2 for maclaren

Honda choked indeed (considering only 1 driver is performing so far) but Button had decent pace would have made the podium if not for the 2 x pitstop screw ups. Mclaren didn't do too well either, Raikonen was disappointing with Montoya being lucky coming in 3rd reeling in others misfortunes. Bad luck for Toyota too, they had alright pace from Ralph but not good enough to catch the front runners.

Schuey's Ferrari was quick, had a bit more straight line speed with their B-spec engine it seems. Alonso was consistently quick as usual with a very fine package, just bad luck its Imola and he couldn't pass at all for like 30laps.. and i think if the other teams don't buck up Renault is gonna run away with it like last year. Interesting to see that there will always be one driver from each team performing poorly.. Barichello, Raikonen, Fisichella, Trulli, Massa...

Trulli didnt perform poorly, his car had steering column problems, he even overtook kimi off the line :D . Im still puzzled on why they kept Ralf on a 3 stopper <_< everyone else was 2 stopping and sud have changed wen they realise that it wasnt goin to work. Well toyota was never good at Imola so i guess its not a big lost in a way

Personally its good to see Schu win again, theres been alot of trash talk on the champ, so this will shut them up B) and wot a place to do it :D

disappointing day for Honda and McLaren... honda just had a mess of a race (and jenson coped a shot in the head  ) and barrichello wasnt even fast.. and to rub it in more, this was supposed to be their best chance in winning :lol: . At least Montoya got 3rd.

Glad this GP was out of the way.. found it a bit boring due to the lack of overtaking.. and wots with the tv director?! didnt show anyone else apart from schuey and alonso  lol the TEN ppl got all ****** off cause they didnt show Webber the whole time

Yeh the race broadcast sucks.. was a bit boring like you said and i find Imola not an exciting track cos its so narrow. Jenson Button must be jinxed, can't win in Australia qualifying Pole, and now can't win at Imola qualifying 2nd. And he also qualified well at Bahrain, actually he has been very consistent with his performance and having scored a podium already i still think he has a good chance in the championship. But that requires Honda to step up a gear in getting the car and pit stops right!

Oh well, i guess now is the time to see what the teams can come up with their B-Spec engines and new aero packages etc.. i hope all teams can have some good improvement to make the season more competitive.

That was a tough day for toyota.. :( I have a feeling that ralf's engine blow was partly due to following rubens for so long. at least we can say that the toyota was faster than honda  if ralf had one extra lap of fuel he would have gottin in front of rubens <_< :(

good to see schey showing alonzo whos boss again

Ferrari has won at home

Schey has won at home

Can alonzo won at home? it'll be a huge race in 6 days time... and i suspect Kimi will finially join the fight up front

again hope our beloved toyota does well. ;)

At the moment looks like Toyota and Honda are in a bit of trouble, but we will wait till the BSpec engines and aero goes on. Williams look fast too so long as they remain reliable and Ferrari is bloody quick.. i noticed how much quicker they were down the straight in the last race and this race, Renault has no chance catching them down the straight.

Its interesting to notice how far Ferrari has climbed ahead of teams like honda, Mclaren and maybe even Renault now since the 1st race. If yous remember Honda's Anthony Davidson and William's Alexander Wurtz consistently topped the times for the first 2-3 races in practice. Since race 4, don't know what Ferrari did their speed improved dramatically, i believe down to some "illegal" aero mods again. They are almost 10km/h up on other teams in terms of top speed down the straight. This has been the case for the past 2 races. I am starting to think the FIA are closing an eye on Ferrai's mods since they have been multiple world champs.. the FIA are always so quick to clamp down and punish severely other teams that breach the rules slightly. So it will be interesting to see when other bigger budget teams like Honda, Mclaren, Toyota will start catching up to Ferrari and Renault.

Funny that you mentioned that. Since FIA can't prove Ferrari is in the wrong, other major teams (inc Toyota) are goin to use similar wings :lol::lol: as the saying goes.. if u cant beat them, join them.

But like anything with F1 you cant win races or even be the front running team with only a single advantagous item/part. This is Ferrari afterall, the team that knows how to win. I think the whole package is v.good.. engine is powerful enough and reliable, chassis is working nicely and dont forget whos at the wheel! :D Scheuy has both the skills and the brains to win.

Heres something interesting i came across:

Everyone raved that Alonso held off Scheuy for the last 12 laps in Imola 2005

but Imola this yr Schey held off Alonso for over 30 laps!!! but ppl failed to show the same enthusiasm <_< <_<

I hope Scheuy beats Alonso at his own home.. ;) but it'll be tough.. the storm is brewing...
