New mods! I discovered that EZ Lip have recently introduced a silver version into their 'Colors' range, so I decided to buy one off TradeMe and give it a shot. My front bumper has seen a few lips over the last 18-months that I've had the car, all of which have been torn off or been damaged beyond repair due to the entrance of my garage and the height of the front-end, so I'm not planning on the EZ Lip sticking around for the long run, but for now it looks good. Upon the first drive into the garage it tore where the lip meets the 3M VHB double-sided tape (no fault of the lip itself) but it's not overly noticeable and seems to spring back for the most part every time it happens.

The 'silver' is actually more of a very light grey, which in directly sunlight is quite a lot lighter than the actual colour of the car, but if it lasts the distance I may look at trying to stain it slightly or maybe even plasti-dipping it to be slightly darker. Who knows, once it gets dirty from road grime etc it may naturally become darker, lol.

The other new addition was the carbon fiber looking sideskirt extensions. Some of you may remember that I had one of these on the front bumper before I lowered it even further, which got torn off by the driveway straight away. I had two brand new spare ones sitting in the wardrobe however so thought I'd put them to good use. The photos don't really do them justice, but you get the idea.

That's it for the weekend. Back to driving the car and clenching my butt cheeks every time I enter a driveway

Hi,

Brother can you tell me about your speakers front and back

Regards,

The fronts are Lexus GS450h Mark Levinson 6.5" speakers with aftermarket 6x9 to 6.5" adapter pods, and the rears are the factory 6x9 speakers.

Hi Scott,

How are you finding the higher profile front tyres than the rear in terms of handling and comfort?

I am currently running 35 profile 19 inch tyres front and rear and was contemplating high profile on the front to fill the guards a bit more and for more comfort.

Thanks,
James

Hey James,

I haven't noticed any difference in handling, but it's definitely a bit more comfortable with the higher profile tyres up front. I've hit one or two rather large pot holes since having them on, and I'm sure the extra rubber has protected the rims from being scratched or buckled compared to what the 35 profile would have. There have been no negatives from doing it, such as any error lights etc.

I need for Aurion 2013, back and front. I want to to do something similar as in the photo for the front as well. What may you recommend?

I haven't seen any pre-cut versions available for the GSV50 shape Aurion so you'll likely have to do it yourself using tint film. The headlights in the pic you posted are genuine Toyota headlights from the latest facelift Aurion. You won't be able to replicate the sort of look without opening up your headlight lenses and spraying the chrome black. There are a number of aftermarket headlight and tail light options for your car on eBay and AliExpress though, so I'm sure you can find some really nice ones if you're willing to spend a bit of cash.

I thought that it can be achieved  with some kind of black film, No???

Putting any sort of tint film over your headlights is instantly illegal, and it won't achieve the look you're wanting. The factory black is done from the inside of the headlight housing, not from the outside of the lens.

Ooh, thanks I did not know about that :))

Scott I just read through your whole build. Great job and you do take better photos than most.

Thanks mate. She's been a work in progress but it's been fun keep this thread updated. As time as goes on, things are slowing down as I run out of things to do to it, but it gives me more time to enjoy the car instead of constantly working on it or thinking about 'what's next'. Looking forward to getting our cars together sometime for a shoot. Now that would be quite something

Washed it and then chucked this front splitter on today. I bought it from the US 7-months ago, and it has sat in the garage while I've been deciding whether to put it on as the front bumper already scrapes on a daily basis. I decided to throw caution to the wind however and this is the result. The EZ Lip I had already fitted is still there (except now sits flat), which provides a decent contrast between the bumper and splitter. I can't see this thing lasting more than a month before getting destroyed by a driveway or speed bump to be honest, but it beats sitting there collecting dust.
