so add tyre and inflation and thats still less than 10kg

Does any1 know the mass of the air in the Stivo 16 " wheel ???

:huh::unsure: :P :P :P

I'm guessing 0 grams

ummmmmmm a tyre inflated to 30psi is considerably lighter then a tyre at 40psi

PV=nkT

pressure x volume = number of atoms/molecules x Boltzman's constant x Temperature

therefore as volume is near constant, pressure is directly proportional to the number of molecules of gas in the given space... ie the mass!!! :P

That is actually pretty light when you compare it to some of the 'bling' rims you see around the place.

Here wego, lets see how many fights we can start in one thread.

MRGEN3, I'm not having a go at you here, but 5kg for a 19inch rim is a little of a mark. The lightest of the light 16inch rims are around 5kg. I'd believe a 19 would be closer to 10kg. But I'm welcome to be proven wrong, cos if its 5kg for a 19inch then I'd love to get it in a 16.

well you better beleive it

unless i had 3 different sales men from 3 different shops tell me the same lie

as for your comment negatron get a life

we dont need bling to pull woman in, but you obviously do AHAHAHAHAHA LOL (just playing with you)

thats why performance is way more important to me than bling LOL

Hey MRGEN3

I'd have to agree with Superdave, 5kg for 19" seems at bit strange, what brand are these rims you speak of.

umm umm **** well they were 5.5kg in the 18 or 19s i dont remember i got quoted this like over 6 months ago or something like that and they were the

i think (??konig?? not sure about brand name) but the wheel title is - unknown

Haha, I can't believe the timing of my finding this thread. I've been carting my rims between my car and shed in the past couple of days and the stivo rims with stock tyres are buttloads heavier than my old 15" ROHs with Silverstone tyres. I wish I could weigh them to see the difference.

Mega Thread Revival...

Sportivo Rim (and rim alone) weight = 8.7kgs

oh god...

that's why my 17's are only 6.8, and what a major improvement.

never thought of the tyre weight, but not sure, gone to 205 instead of 195, but reduced sidewall size from 55 to 45, so i reckon could be lighter there as well

mmm

I know this thread is about a million years old but...

I was pleasantly surprised to see that when I weighed my rims they came out at about what people are suggesting ie. I got 17.2kg with standard wheel on standard tyre. My 17s are about the same.

P.S. Did anybody ever bother to call MRGEN3 on his bluff, and actually quote some numbers? I know SD and few others called him out, but some research shows the rims he was referring to weigh in at 10.25kg each! Someone *pokes finger at MRGEN3* needed to do his research first!!!

Ah, an old thread, a new giggle.
