yer really? I thought Auris was the new international name for the hatch where as corolla would remain for the sedan and wagon. It makes sence to change it to Auris as it fits between Aurion and Yaris. Then again Camry kept its name. Who cares if it doesnt get names Auris here all the better coz itll be like having Runx number plates.

From what I've read, Aus will retain the Corolla badge, they don't want a repeat of the Nissan Pulsar/Tida sales disaster due to no name recognition of the new Tida badge even though its the global name of the car.

Likewise Toyota are using the new name Aurion instead of Avalon to distance the new car from the old and give people the perception that its not just an update Avalon but an all new completely different car.

Because Corolla is such a success here and its a name with a good reputation, they wont replace it with another name Global or not.
