  1. Check the coolant level in the overflow bottle, pretty sure thats the low level warning light, has a sensor in the bottom of the bottle... If the level is fine, then the sensor may be stuffed...
  2. I've got 05 Sportivo Springs, happy to post...
  3. Sorry mate, I've got way too many parts here at the moment, only interested in selling as I have to get the car in here and get started on the rebuild... $250 and the green light head unit is yours...
  4. I've got the one with the green lights and willing to sell, then you can sell your unit on ebay or something :)
  5. My AE112 chews through fuel aswell, used to average around 400-450kms to a tank using regular unleaded, mix of city driving and freeway... Will be interesting to see if it uses less when I rebuild the engine and freshen everything else up... Have never used a full tank in the Sportivo, always fill up when it gets down to about half cause thats when fuel is cheaper and best to date is 425kms to half tank using Caltex 98...
  6. You can use bleach to take the colour out but will make the plastic very britle...
  7. Rear bumper needs to be rounder and would sound so so soooo much better with a supercharger :)
  8. SSS Automotive at Giraween had one last time I checked, would be perfect for what you need...
  9. Pretty sure it's 25Nm max torque when tightening, which seems like nothing at all when you're doing it, but seals without any issues...
  10. It's the same tool thats used on the Aurions and new Klugers... Make sure not to overtighten the filter housing as it will become impossible to remove the next time you try... Depending on your special tool, I use a 1/2" bar to remove the housing and a 3/8" ratchet to tighten...
  11. Pete's got it, remove the vents first and you'll be able to access the head unit... What I find a lot easier, is to also remove the centre trim with the ash tray, heater controls, etc... With that taken out, you're a lot less likely to drop the bolts down the back of the dash, which without magnetised sockets is very, very easy to do with this model... When fitting the new unit in, make sure you've got the air vents attatched to the head unit and slide it in as one... This will ensure the air vent panel will fit correctly and not keep popping back out all the time...
  12. Best off getting another 2ZZ from a Corolla and dropping it straight in... Location would help in regards to a wrecker, but last time I went, there was one sitting at SSS Automotive, would be perfect for what you need, head and block with no accessories, get that, swap all your stuff over and away you go...
  13. If there is oil on the gearbox and leaking down onto the exhaust I'd definately be checking the rocker cover gasket first... Oil dripping down onto the exhaust and burning will cause the smell... With regards to the left hand side front oil, suspect would be the steering rack leaking out from the split boot, onto the lower control arm, or possibly the driveshaft seal... Check those 3 things and you'll find your faults :)
  14. Pull off the plastic mirror cover and replace the light, has three torx bit screws to hold it in...
  15. Depending on your location, if there is a Natrad Radiator Specialist in the area, give them a visit and get a free checkup... Fix any faults with the system and your car uses the Genuine Toyota Long Life Coolant which is Red in Colour, not pink...
  16. I know the bounce you're referring to and yeah, it's normal with every Aurion that I drive at work, much more noticeable at slower speeds through the workshop, seems to bounce around like it's on chopped springs... But yeah, everyone I drive feels the same, regardless of tyre brand or pressure...
  17. Certain dealers use different oils, we used to use Castrol, now we use Caltex... I guess it's whatever company can give us the best deals is who we use...
  18. Yeah mate, got one brand new in the box... Removed from a new car when swapping to a sat nav unit... Located in Sydney, can pick up or I can post... PM me an offer :)
  19. Could try a Paseo one or something similar and just cut it down to fit and throw some screws in it...
  20. Your video title says 08 Corolla, which means it's under warranty... Go to your local dealer and have the light replaced under warranty :)
  21. Genuine studs are around $5 each and the alloy type wheel nuts are about $8... So thats all you'll be up for...
  22. We have a Toyota book at work with all the different plug types, I think you can buy them seperately... Alternatively, just connect the loose wires and fill the empty plug hole with silicone to keep them tight and free from water entry...
  23. Disconnect the shade wiring under the parcel shelf so it stays up all the time, that'll fix the problem when you shift into reverse... Although, if it starts to rain or if you're trying to reverse at night, I imagine it would be a pain in the butt...
  24. Once you find a car that you like, get a vehicle inspection done with a full written report, definately worth the money if you're not mechanically minded as they check over the whole car and find all faults if any...
  25. My thoughts exactly, under inflation is the cause of tyres wearing on the outer edges, especially on the front due to cornering forces on the sidewalls... I used to put 34psi in my AE92 tyres and that was always fine... And your passenger side tyre would fail rego at my work... Hows your spare tyre??? If it's not worn down at all, change it before you go for your inspection and you'll be fine tyre wise, rego states you need a spare but as it's for emergency use only, it doesn't have to have tread...
