  1. http://games.adultswim.com/robot-unicorn-a...nline-game.html I strongly declare my heterosexuality, but I need also highly praise this game for being incredibly addictive.
  2. finally got everything right. The color is a bit different from stock, more silver to it - not close enough to blend in unfortunately but since I'm repainting all my dash pieces I got away with it - the only "clash" will be where the plate above the ashtray pocket and the air con panel are because they aren't being painted, but because of the shape of the dash you can't pick it. Hopefully I'll get some picks up tomorrow
  3. The Brisbane crew are very responsible drivers. Was an excellent run today. The first section in the dry was nice to get the tires warmed up for the damp second half which was some nice driving through the foggy mountain. Great cruise. Glad to hear it. I used to belong to the Holden Commodore fraternity and it was the norm for at least one idiot to crash his ride per cruise, very happy I'm no longer associated with that lot.
  4. I don't wanna hear about anyone getting into any accidents now...
  5. Steven, u can still ask VF-X whether he is willing to add additional items for the Group Buy from Thailand, if possible then u can have the lights pretty soon hahaha.. Recovering from a large outlay for my recent stereo installation unfortunately, so even if a group buy was organised I think this would be more of a tax time buy
  6. read about this a little bit too late - be nice to see what the ZR6 could do now I've added a bit of weight to it (my hefty self included), but I'm tied up working on the dash pieces today :( Also looks like the rain might spoil any fun at willowbank
  7. I thought i'd try my hand at photoshopping them onto my Gold ZR6. I think I did pretty good but I forgot the new taillights have a slight buldge out of the sides, and i totally removed it hahah. Honestly, I don't mind it. :) That's come up alright actually. I forgot about the red reflectors in the rear bar, they help the clear lights blend in. Dammit, visiting this forum is BAD for my wallet. Wonder if a group buy is in order?
  8. just sprayed up the trim bit - no good, I stuffed up the gun settings and it saturated the piece. No runs, but it will still need to be sanded back once it's dry and hit again. Haven't sprayed in a long time, guess I'm outta practice.
  9. DJKOR - if they look even better in the flesh, then they must be bloody HORN! They actually match your car very well! They might not be limited to dark coloured cars afterall. Somebody want to photochop them onto a gold Aurion?
  10. in the end I've had an automotive paint supply shop match the color using a dash piece to work off. Will be spraying it up this weekend, hoping it's a good match.
  11. if you're getting paint protection, be sure to get the optional snake oil upgrade otherwise it won't work properly.
  12. I have a ZR6 with the silver interior highlights and center console etc, however the previous owner wasn't quite so careful with things and as a result several of the silver trim panels are pretty scratched up. I've considered replacing them with new parts, but at around $200 for one of the pieces of plastic (and $1400 for another piece of plastic :o ) I'm looking into just repainting them instead. Does anybody know of a place to source the right color trim paint?I found something fairly close at supercheap (with the semi-metallic look) but it's just a TINY bit off - enough that the perfectionist in me won't settle especially since only some surfaces are in need of touchup and others aren't. I know I could probably take to a proper paint shop, get it matched and mixed up then apply it with a spray gun (probably best option, I have the equipment afterall) but I'd like to consider all my options first. cheers
  13. I found everything in my HID install plugged directly into the factory harness without any issues and worked fine, so was fairly simple however I did remove the front bumper and headlights in order to give myself more room and make it easier to mount the ballasts. That's only if you don't run it through an addition relay though, as some people suggest you do. However when I studied the cars wiring diagram the headlights already run directly off a relay and the wiring looks to be of a sufficient guage that I can't imagine the HIDs causing any more stress on the system than the original factory bulbs do. Although some people have a different idea behind using relays (DJKOR I believe uses a relay so he can flash his high beams without activating the low beam HIDs - not good for them) I've got HID low beams and high beams so it's not really an issue for me.
  14. that damn cupholder has extremely fine clearances - so does the whole center console actually. Real PITA sometimes
  15. got the kits in and running, without a doubt a fantastic improvement over stock. The kits I purchased were around the $60 each from a seller in Melbourne, arrived fairly quickly too. Can't wait to try the 55w high-beams outside of town and see how they go :)
  16. Are you sure it wasn't the other way around? Leave the CAT and take out the resonater? That's what I did when I first got my Aurion and a few others have done! Some people have just changed the muffler to a Varex cannon without removing the resonater, doesn't make much of a difference! You gotta get rid of that Res... your car will thank you! :D You should get a nice gain as well, around 13-14kw at the wheels (edit) btw, if you can afford it, Take Seca's photo but swap everything around! So instead of replacing the Resonater with a Varex Cannon, replace it with a straight pipe and instead of replacing the mufflers with pipes replace them with two Varex Cannons, one on each side... looks so much cooler imo. And you're exhausts will look exactly how they sound, BEAST! That's a fair gain at the wheels, for a fairly simple exhaust modification. Have those gains ever been proven?
  17. I thought you would be well aware of this Steven having all that electronic knowledge that you have shared on the boards. It's normal operation due to the inverter, which is primarily what the ballast is. During the start-up phase, the ballast needs to output a higher voltage for the arc to establish and as the arc stabilises, this voltage is reduced and the current is increased. The noise is produced by the transistors in there when they are turning the extra-low voltage DC to low voltage AC. The 55W lamps need a bit more power, so as a result, will produce a more noticable high pitch noise. Can't claim to know everything, and it's always a pleasure to learn something. My concern though was because I've had quite a few HID kits now over a few cars, but they were always 35w and thus hardly made any noise at all. cheers mate :)
  18. I'm currently in the process of installing HID lights into my ZR6. I've got 35w low beams with slim ballast, and 55w high beams regular ballast. Sofar I've only got the drivers side installed, but have noticed that when they're on the 55w ballast makes a high pitched noise. It probably wouldn't be heard when the engine's on - it's akin to the noise the ol cathode-tube tv's might make. It's louder when first turned on, then lowers in volume but still easy to hear after they've warmed up. The low beam slim ballast doesn't make any noise at all. Is this normal?
  19. I was afraid I would need a better quality LOC, although it makes perfect sense. Might have to go on the TO-DO list as my HIDs just arrived today and I'm keen to get them installed.
  20. I've finally got the amplifiers in, and at the moment running my front speakers. I'm using the cheap jaycar hi-lo converters. I'm having an issue with a fairly obvious low level noise introduced now that constantly plays, best described as a constant "SHHHHH" noise. I having played around with the amp's sensitivity much yet, but I'm fairly certain this isn't normal.
  21. Yep they're just like the base models in that regards, only green caps over blue leds.
  22. . Hi i also have the same thing, have u tryed it. Thanks. Can you post pictures of the back of your unit? Very interested.
  23. man that's really scraping it for claiming something extra.
  24. I ran my accessory wire whilst working on my installation today - I found a pink wire beneath the passenger kick panel that showed 12v only when the accessories/ignition was on. Bit of an update, I've been running cable everywhere and doing all the fancy wood work etc to setup my amplifiers, very complicated but I'm focused on getting it right first time. Hopefully I'll have everything up and running tomorrow. Having trouble trying to find a spot to sit my fuse holder in the engine bay - not much real estate for screwing into. Interesting observation I've had though whilst the back seats were out, is that the car technically could have a fold-down rear seat if the designers hadn't been so lazy. Furthermore theirs actually unused bolts all over the place as if such a frame was originally designed to go there. Very surprising, but also handy as those same bolts made it possible to install my amp rack without drilling any holes in the car at all.
  25. I have heard a method in order to kill the bacteria yourself, can't for the life of me remember what it is thought. Anyone knowledgeable on this? I need it done myself actually.
