  1. ZEEROLLA

    I'm off

Lucky.. getting paid to go to America i assume, enjoy! :)
  2. Is that possible? Probably is but still cheaper to drop the 2ZZGE into a RWD car? Maybe an AE86 with 2ZZGE? (where's Rollamods) Now that would be awesome! :D In Best Motoring there is even an AE86 with S2000 engine and 6 speed box transplant! Serious!!! Drives great down the straight aparently but that car wasn't tuned properly and handling a bit off..
  3. I am most probably getting RJR Circuit 16x7inch in Bronze (They look like MUGEN replicas!) with Yokohama C.Drive 205/50R16 87W tyres. May even go with the 17s but will see next week how much more they charge to upsize. The C.Drive tyres looks like a great tyre for $200 each and BobJane T-Mart's staff reckons their boss swears by them! Yokohama C. Drive Z
  4. Yippee! POWER FC here we come! :D Group buy?
  5. That's BULL****, unless they can PROVE that the CAI caused the actual engine problem. Tell them to stuff their warranty up their big fat ars*es that do nothing but ****! Sorry i'm abit off bcuz i just had my shifting problems fixed at my own expense afer lobbying Toyota for more than a year (some people even longer, ask Bill) and did the warranty do anything tpo rectify it? NO, all i got was accussative attutude from some and a bloody waste of my time. Z
  6. Does it realy?????? :o :o :o ← Depends on which di@khe*d at Toyota you deal with The CAI is a good quality product and has been engineered to fit the 2ZZGE. None of us with it has had any engine problems with it only big smiles and will never have it off :) Z
  7. RJR Tarmac17x7inch Gold How would these look on my Black Stivo in Gold or Bronze? How's the quality for those that have seen it in the flesh and are they heavier than stock?
  8. I'm up for a cruise! But souldn't we find someplace where the coppers aren't everywhere and we are heading north this time aren't we?
  9. I know Bills car, with the TOM's flywheel, makes some aweful noises on startup ← Forgot Bill had it fitted too, but that's not an "aweful" noise! it's music to the enthsiast and sets us apart :P
  10. Plus its sooo hard to get them P1s now.. i tried :(
  11. Right now i would really like to stick with 16x7 inch rims but only Enkei makes nicer rims not to mention they are expensive. The RJR Tarmac looks alright though and its cheap. ← i didn't realise that they were worth 410 over here apart from weight and looks aside, a quality wheel doesn't need that many counter-weights to be balanced if the tyre is mounted right from the start. if u look at some wheels they have an entire strip of lead weight stuck to them just so they spin properly. and even then sometimes u still get vibes on the steering wheel along the freeway. ← I guess what you are trying to say Shao is pay more for better quality wheels :P I am working on it which will mean i stay on stock rims for a little longer! Maybe not.. time will tell! But Enkei looks hot, imo well worth the money! Z
  12. :( Bummer, lost my pic of the stock clutch and flywheel.. must have accidentally deleted it, will post up tomorrow after i take a new photo.. sorry guys!
  13. NO MORE STICKY SHIFTS!!! NOT ONE TINY BIT!! Couldn't resist myself and revved the bugger to 8000rpm half a dozen times and not one bit of tightness, taughtness or stickiness with the gear shifter! I feel liberated and regret not doing it heaps earlier but i had to exhaust most revenues before i jump in! One thing to note though is that the Stivo is now noisier than ever with slightly more mechanical noises. Don't know if Ilivfor6's Stivo had that much noise and not sure if Shao's TRD flywheel makes noises? I know Dave's Fidanza is quiet as. The TOM's flywheel seems to be rather noisy if you have the radio off it kind of emits soft rattly noises between 3000-4000rpm and only when the throttle is off. I am suspecting it could even be the gear shifter cable rattles again bcuz they occured at that revs too! Will have to investigate further.. and at startup its much noiser! I don't really mind the little bit more noise though, its mechanical sounds to my ear and only thrills me! :P Z
  14. wait till u drive around a tiny carpark with the a/c on in the summer. ← Oh yeh, with A/C on the Stivo is B@tch to drive!!
  15. Possibly and possibly not, a MOTEC and an efficient front mount intercooler should keep your engine running fine. Might need bigger injectors too but other than that i think you will be fine with sedate amounts of boost. I would say with 4-6psi you can see about 80kw atw minimum. Btw if you go turbo you will need a 2.5inch or bigger exhaust. Z
  16. There is a few more in the Illawarra too, saw a White one the other day at Shellharbour at a T-intesection and after he saw my Black one he popped it in 1st and thumped it! :D Seems like people are appreciating the high revving characteristics, he just seriously needs a CAI to sound good :P
  17. Ok, got the car back on the road only today bcuz the mechanic that did my car under-estimated the time needed to do the job but he still only charged me $300. Took him about 6-8 hours all up. I am very happy with the car atm although i haven't opened her up yet. The throttle response feels soooo much better and the clutch pedal feels firmer and it bites lower down the clutch travel, with clucth re-adjusted, and new gear/brake fluids put in. There is that noticeable mechanical sound from the TOM's flywheel when starting the car up, sounds cool :D I will take pics of the stock clutch soon and mine looked ok to be honest even after trips to Wakefield and all my hard driving. The Toyota pressure plate does look a little different though and has a wierd looking cover. It has some heat marks on it but its still useable so i am keeping it. The stock clutch plate is organic and still looks good to me. The stock flywheel though, is so much heavier!!! Will also take a pic of that. I will be taking the car for more spirited driving soon after i bed the clutch in a little more but i think the $380 for Exedy HD clutch kit plus the TOM's flywheel is probably the best money spent so far and seriously changed the feel of the car. The clutch pickup is still very abrupt and direct maybe even more so than before but could be due to 30% more load from pressure plate. stay tuned for more....
  18. Some places to get these sort of things done in Wollongong and Illawarra are: Leisure Coast Carburators or "ScreaminPerformance.com" at Fairy Meadow. They are not the big bling bling workshops but is a family business and they do alot of custom work. I had a bar-plate front mount intercooler custom made by them before, tha car is even on their website and they also did a good job on my friend's red DC2 TypeR turbo (can still see the car at Wollongong Uni, a chick is driving it now B) ) -> 500+hp Supra -> 500+hp R34 Skyline Gts-t -> currently EVO 8. He lives in Wollongong, but the last time i saw him was a year ago. Another good/better place is Southern Motor Works (look up yellow pages). They are in Albion Park Rail 20mins south of Wolongong located behind Tory Toyota. They do a lot of rexes and custom turbo setups etc. the boss drives a Lotus Exige and has 2 spare 2ZZGE engines fully tuned with engine internal mods in his workshop. Haven't witnessed the peeformance of these engines yet nor his Lotus Exige's so can't say much but his workshop is quite well known in my area. Z
  19. That is my greatest concern and the only reason why i haven't purchased a 200SX since there are soooo many out there. I have even contacted half a dozen dealers in Sydney to look at S15s and to trade the Stivo. But like you said the turbo and drivetrain is my main concern. Turbo seals can leak when the turbo is not maintained or the drivers don't cool down the turbos after each spirited drive (no turbo timer). But most with turbo timers also have a variety of other mods like boost controllers and i don't want those cars, it can mean potential piston meltdowns and big engine rebuilts. I am after a clean stocker. Saw a few S15s with around 80,000kms, looked alright but if you look closely under the turbo wastegate there can be some oil leakage which i spotted in one of them. That probably means the turbo is leaking oil which makes it inefficient and needs rebuilding or a new turbo is needed. And the worry list goes on and on.... That's why brand new is the way or a very new 2nd hand example with low kms. Otherwise i just have to be prepared for major o'haul. I think NA cars are still far more reliable on the road and on the track!
  20. Have you thought of Bronze coloured wheels? I am thinking of going Black and Bronze.
  21. Yeh i noticed it this morning when i looked closer! The pics in the catalogue is so darn small i couldn't differentiate the "Y" from the "V" but noticed the "R" in "VORK"??? But are their Enkeis genuine or are they also imitations? Right now i would really like to stick with 16x7 inch rims but only Enkei makes nicer rims not to mention they are expensive. The RJR Tarmac looks alright though and its cheap.
  22. 205/50R16 Potenza GIIIs are only between $180-$205 per tyre.. i think they are a tad better than the Turanzas
  23. Yeh i am leaning towards RJR Tarmac bcuz of the price, then i can spend more on tyres! I'll probably get Bronze, something different from the Black and Gold :P They also quoted me $1400 for Wheels and Falken ZE326 Tyres which is not really the tyres i want.
