  1. :D Haha Bill i was reading your topic's title and i was seriously going wth and didn't know what you were refering to but now i know :D Sorry can't help you there :P
  2. *disappointment in crowd* Awwwww....... :P One less contender for the under 1800cc NA class! Yes!! :P And Dave should turn up in his Celica while Dylan call in sick :P
  3. 50psi in tyres! I remember some safety warning thing on the sidewall of my tyre saying no more than 40psi inflation or it will go Kaboom!
  4. In terms of how VVTL-I delivers its power i think its closer to the old VTEC in Civic VtiRs and DC2 Integra TypeR than the newer i-VTEC in DC5 Integra TypeR.
  5. The Evo 6 comes in 3 grades, GSR, RS and TM edition. The GSR is te fully loaded one and weighs in around 1360kg, the RS is the stripped out race-spec version and weighs around 100kg less and the TM edition (red paint with stripes) sold in Australia with a limited run of 100 weighs in at 1280kg and has a different turbo from what i know which improves responsiveness. But the Evo6 GSR is already way better than WRX STIs (maybe even the MY05 WRX STI) in terms of performance as it has the AYC (Active Yaw Control) and VCD (Variable Center Differential). The only downside is Mitsubishi quality, it might be a little plasticky compared to Subaru WRXs. Definitely the weapon of choice for track racing and tarmac rallies B) Much better than GTRs imo.
  6. I don't know about the "quicker" bit :P seriously a good swap for an excellent cult car! Will take an Evo over a WRX anyday and for a Evo6 with 42,000kms pricing seems alright especially whe they sold it for $80,000 new, although that was the TommiMac edition. Is yours a GSR hence heavier than the TM edition and i think the turbo charger is also different. Good swap anyway, sad to see you sell the Stivo though ;) Whats insurance gonna cost though? For the track the AYC and VCD will be in a world of its own :D Drool.....
  7. Hey Dave do you know if we get a warm up run before the actual run or we have to get it warmed on the street somewhere? And do we get a printout?
  8. Anyone saving up for it :P btw i just gave a WRX (STi wannabe) a big scare yesterday :o!
  9. Ahhh..the rain... :( had to postpone the track day, but at least we getting some rain for our crops..
  10. Nice wheels Bill :D I am a big fan of 6 spoke wheels and the Speedys Lite6s and Lite7s both look great! Weiwei's new wheels look great too!
  11. Mozzies, flies, grannies and chicks aside guys (btw its the driver that attracts the chicks :P ).. I was told the S2000 is one of the worst for driver and passenger safety due to its super rigid body structure, hence all the shock gets transmitted towards the driver? So does that explain why the corolla bodyshell doesn't feel as rigid as some of the competitors -> more roll and reduced cornering performance? but improved safety?
  12. I personally would add a few grand on top of the Astra turbo and get a awd WRX if i am going to go turbo, its a much better package, or a good low km S15 200sx for some serious fun I personally don't see fwd+turbo -> too much wheelspin, going too well together :P
  13. OzHonda is organising a Wakefield Park Track Day on the 4th July 2005 (Monday). If anyone is intersted feel free to turn up and run a few TypeRs, VtiRs or even S2000s The 5th July will be for Jazzs so the Echo boys might want to have a go ;) Z
  14. Hey guys will start a new thread for the 4th July as the OzHonda boys are going to Wakefield on that daytoo. If i get to run on the 30th i will still go on the 4th to spectate :) If anyone is interested in running against the TypeRs and VtiRs on the 4th as well, PLEASE DO!!!
  15. Sure mate you are most welcomed to come along and why not dyno too? Then we can compare 05 to 03-04. We are all driving Toyotas so if anybody else wnats to come along, the more the merrier! btw where do you live? Z ← cheers mate nah i dont think ill spend 50 bucks to find out what it runs stock if the figure are right it should be roughly 113 at the wheels i think but i dont know im from penrith where abouts are all you guys meeting for the pre-cruise ← That's alright mate, its all a bit of fun.. i still don't know where i will be meeting up, most probably at Dave's (Screaminrolla) place in Campbelltown then head up to Silverwater. Keep checking out this thread for confirmation. Z
  16. Hmmm.. i guess we have to wait till Thursday morning to know then.. 8-13degrees
  17. Welcome Justin! I am only a little over 60kg and stand at 5foot6inches TALL! :P I guess i will have the lightest hence quickest Stivo around! Enjoy the forum, you will ind plenty of info on the car! Cheers, Z
  18. Trust me guys, you won't regret getting the TRD CAI. No one here with it fitted has had a bad comment about it except a few that had the rubber elbows fitted incorrectly, which splitted it but was replaced by Bruce. But other than that its one of the best engine mods and probably the best bang for buck mod for the 2ZZGE ;)
  19. The test drive also ended up with me signing on the dotted line. The difference is i had 2 passengers and i was the one that chirped 1-2 and hit limiter in 2nd :D The salesman was about my age and he was going on about why i would even look at Mazda's SP23 :D but the SP23 isn't that bad a car, just that i never got the test drive and the dealer wanted me to service my car there only for their 6 year warranty deal so Toyota got my business.
  20. That is the price i got it for, u might find it chepear elsewhere but because it is manufactured in the USA exchange rate plays a major role in the cost. It is also a baulky item to freight hence comes in a BIG box. $450 included freight. You can get Simota which is 2.5inch piping not 3inch like AEM or TRD for a couple of hundred less. The TRD CAI is never going to be cheap because they have been R&D'd on 2ZZGE engines to work perfect and is even warranted by Toyota in the USA. Z

  22. That's alright Influx, don't even know how the weather will turn out that day, hopefully it doesn't rain in Goulburn. But if it does what do you guys reckon we should do? Hang out at Maccas? :P
  23. Damn those wheels look fantastic, Nice wheels man!! :P But seriously it goes well with Red too doesn't it Eddy? I did pick them up before they put it on my car and i am sure the 16s are between 6-8kg only bcuz i could pick it up with one arm easy and i only weigh 62kg and 5foot6 :D Anyway.. Bronze rocks!! One stupid question though, you know with the center caps, i actually removed mine because i think the wheel looks better without. Does anyone know whether that will cause any problems such as rusting etc? I don't think i will put them back on unless its against the law or it will cause issues.. Cheers, Z
  24. Just found the specs for the SW20 94' onwards MR2, it should have a 3S-GE 2000cc 16v 4 cyl with 129kw and 185NM torque. Goes pretty well for those specs even though i mis-shifted 1-2, 2nd and 3rd ingear was pretty much on-par although i felt the Stivo edging ahead slowly near the top of 3rd gear before he backed off. Will get him next time ;) If it was a MR2 GT with the 3S-GTE i would have been left for dead, the Jap spec 185kw version with about 300NM torque runs the 1/4mile in the 13s!!!
