  1. In a FWD?! Its magic! :o Seriously, though, hows this any different to any of those other vortex air turners, apart from bolting right before your throttle body instead of right after your air filter?
  2. Its a bit each to their own really. Personally I prefer my amps in my boot. If you work it right you can make it take up bugger all space.' Eg, the setup in my old car. Will be doing something similar in the Aurion. Theres an idea free from me to you, too Amaro, if you really wanna compact it. That box was about 2" deep and there was no more than 4" space behind it. The Mighty Lancer ah? mmm looks tidy but 4" of space though? I seen your subs they'd need more cubic air space than 4" could give surely? Wouldnt be quite operating in the most ideal enviroment? Still got the Second Amp? Was talking about the amp box. By putting amps in a box up the back in that fashion, especially with amps his size, increases the usable boot space, hides the wiring, and protects the amps a bit. Yeah I still got the second amp. Fixed it thank god.
  3. Holy crap! 4 Subs. Thats a pretty hardcore looking setup. Giving those sub boxes a wrap with some matching fabric will make it look tops. Its a bit each to their own really. Little Rants

Clearly you don't offer a good enough bribe for the contract. The shafting I already get from the government should be bribe enough.

    Little Rants

On the topic, this isn't my rant, but my dad's. He works on servers and he always hates how a company is willing to take their core business server down during work hours, but the email server can only be shut down after hours. wtf, the email server has stuff all purpose, use the phone. Hahah! I would completely agree with that one, although much the same logic applies here - if e-mail is down here we never hear the end of it (which locally we can do jack about, its Melb's problem) but then they're quite happy when the systems they actually need to use to get real work done go down. I don't think many know how to use the phone anymore! Of course they are! They're the government! If the mail server goes down, they have to do some work. If the app/file servers go down, they don't. And the only reason their sub $1k computers suck is because they buy them from Acer or what have you. If government departments, or hell, even just local offices bought their machines from smaller operators, they'd get much better systems for their budget. I have sold decent full systems 1 at a time made to order for sub 1k, imagine what I could do in bulk!
  6. All items sold. Mods, feel free to close. Cheers.
  7. Color coded my side mirrors over the weekend. Not quite as good a finish as I was hoping for, but they'll do for now.
  8. Cheers mate. Yeah, handling is somewhat improved. She doesn't seem to fight as much around corners, so she's a good thing. Rear sway and coilovers are on my to do list, but a while off while I get cashed up a bit. Gonna probably throw some low Kings or something under there for now. Won't be a massive improvement, but still hopefully better than stock. Just my mad GIMP/Photoshop skillz in action You can. Not as easy as adding one to an aftermarket HU though. As Hamster said above, I've got an aftermarket Pioneer. Shoot Adamsy a PM, he has a sub on his stock unit, he might be able to better help. There may also be something in the Aurion FAQ. I bought the stuff years ago to put in my old car, but never used it. Bought it from Rvinyl.com. If memory servers it cost me roughly AUD$100 for a roll of carbon fibre and a roll of brushed stainless finish.
  9. Color coded my side mirrors over the weekend. Not quite the quality of finish I was aiming for, but they'll do..... for now.

    Pensioners...

You need to stipulate which pensioners: Age, Disabled, Carers, Widow and more. I myself am a full time Carer and receive a pension as only income and I'm in my mid 50's. However, from your scenario it sounds like your ranting against aged pensioners. Not all aged people are on a pension. Don't forget these people did it harder with jobs, living then the generations after including "baby boomer's" which I'm one. These people worked hard to give their family every opportunity for their children and generations after to have better life and not go through what they did. But now they are back to where they were 60 or more years ago. At least these people know how to write a letter. Yeah, I'm talking about retirees. I know not all pensioners are bad, I know a few the don't complain, and in fact take the same stance as I against the other whinging old buggers. My rant came about because last week there were more letters written to the paper by retiree pensioners about the fact that they don't recieve enough free money from the government. I've had the debate in person with a few retirees who complain to me about how much better off I am than them, and can't seem to grasp the fact that they own their home and cars (like they should by their age) and get discounts upon discounts on nearly everything, and by the time I pay rent and full price for my phone and hydro and what not plus my costs of getting to work, they are much better off than I. Interestingly, when confronted with such a respose, they generally revert to DJKOR's point about their sense of entitlement because they are older. Don't get me wrong, I love my nan, don't have a problem with pensioners in general, its just this sense of entitlement many seem to have that gets my goat.
  14. lol id near bet paradigms car that these are exactly the same one's he has in his ZR6. Oi! Motherf***er! lol. Yep they are the same as mine. @Helvetica, don't buy them. Not that theres anything wrong with the lights themselves, but they can be had cheaper from ebay. And those were H7s. You'll have a hell of a time getting them into your lights.

    Pensioners...

...really sh!t me sometimes. Is it just me or do pensioners have nothing better to do than complain and moan and write whinging letters to the local paper about how hard done by they are? /rant
  16. On that thought, should this not be in the Buy/Sell section, and be bound by the GB rules?
  17. That Clarion is a mono amp, right? Why are there 4 output terminals?
  18. I'd almost go further and say the only time you won't get done over by a telco is when you don't have a phone. @KENSHIN, Just keep pushing them, dude. If they aren't trying to rip you off, then they have no reason to hide anything, and therefore no good reason not to give you a detailed usage list. If you can't budge them, sic the ombudsman a local MP onto them.
  19. In terms of HID's, it's just as illegal. Retrofitting HID's into a car without all the necessary components (self-levelling, headlight washers, etc) is not legal. Halogen bulbs with specifications for colour temperature is just a load of marketing crap. They usually vary by different levels of blue tint on them. If they don't carry the appropriate ADR markings, then they aren't legal. But with all that said, the chance of getting done for it is not likely unless you get something that is way out obvious. I guess that sounds fair. I'm planning on becoming a Police Officer in Victoria so I should probably try to keep a low profile in making upgrades, especially illegal ones >.< Thanks again! Dunno bout over there, but down here police officers are some of the worst offenders when it comes to driving offences. They like to take advantage of the fact that you can't pull a citizen's arrest on a cop for traffic offences.
  20. More new tunage from me that I thought I'd share with you lot while I'm sharing around. Christopher Jaye - October 2010 Promo mix: Mashup of a whole bunch of funkier stuff gracing my record box this month. This is a 40 minute DJ mix. I record these to send to clubs and promotors, and sometimes just to hear my mixing how the clubbers hear it instead of how it sounds first person while DJing. Paradigm - Die Another Day: Very early stages of a hard trance remix/bootleg/whatever of Madonna's 'Die Another Day'.
  21. Which light are you talking about? Fog, low, high? Low beam. Low beam HID is recommended. Many of us here have HID low beams and are very happy with them. Its high beams that aren't recommended, because constant short bursts of usage can shorten the life of the lamp.
  22. I'd suggest taking it to a Toyota dealership and have them take a look under warranty. Has it always done it?
  23. Bear in mind, during the GB, we had to have minimum numbers on the order, as we customized the engravings. They don't have 'Aurion' with them. Our models are called Camry. We tried for custom led version ones as well to say AURION but min was 500pcs to be purchased now that would be a a super aurion group buy lol P.S VFX did Larry touch bases with ya. AUR30N He's heading up here now.. I ma meet him in like an hour or so. Yea He told me about meeting you and stuff. Hahah.. 500 pcs is massive.. We could buy an Aurion and sponsor the forum.. xD The cheaper option for me is to make sure my mrs keeps changing into her slippers before she get into the car Or don't let her in at all. Women nag too much anway. :P
  24. I have the same one 450HP posted above, and it does come with some full version software and some demos on the disc, most of it was a bit poo I thought. I looked at ScanXL Pro a while back, thought that looked pretty good. My interest in OBD has been more for the w@nk factor live diagnostics when I get my carputer up and running, so I'll be using Palmers Performance Dash Command (same people that make ScanXL) and integrating it with Centrefuse or XBMC. I know theres other options like ScanXL designed for chucking on your laptop and logging some hardcore data, best bet is to google around and see what you can find. If you are going to buy an adaptor like the one above, make sure whatever software you get is ELM327 compatible.
