  1. Yeah I've got it pretty good now, after a bit of stuffing around. Thinking I might rip 'em back off and put some white tape underneath where the gaps are, coz you can see a bit of light shining through the top gaps at night. I'm having problems with getting the edge to stick down, just on the 1 side, because it has to twist slightly to sit flat and the tape can't handle the resistance as it tries to spring back into its original shape. Funnily enough, not half an hour ago I was thinking just rip them off and sikaflex the whole thing on!
  2. I've noticed this as well, and both mine and other people's seem to no follow the guard lines very well at all. I had resigned myself to accepting it, at least for the time being :P On second inspection, the passenger side one is almost bang on the money, just the drivers side one its pretty woeful.
  3. Finished the paintwork on my eyelids this morning, and installed them. They look good from a distance, but when you look from less than about 10m away, you can see that the fitment is a bit sh!t. Looking at some of the photos of people's eyelids, they look great. Did anybody else have trouble with fitment? Mine has a very visible gaps on the top corner where it doesn't line up with the panel around the light at all.
  4. Installed eyelids. Bit disappointed with fitment. And I'm less than impressed with my paint finish, so I'll probably rip 'em off over the next couple weeks and respray.
  5. Painted my eyelids tonight. Sand/cut/polish/wax tomorrow night and hope they come out as shiny as the car.
  6. Eyelids came in from RStyle yesterday, so after picking up the last of the stuff I needed today, this evening has been taken up painting them. Theres still a bit of work to be done. I've left them to set for the night, so tomorrow night the finish should be well and truly ready to sand and cut/polish/wax, and hopefully they'll come out at smooth and glossy as the rest of my car. Then I can fit them.
  7. Might print this ad and take it to my insurance company, see if I can get my agreed value bumped up a bit. Obviously it works.
  8. Motherf***** stole my choice of rims!
  9. Motion seconded. I think they need to be a bit darker on a black car.
  10. I always assumes it was to do with the fact that its illegal to have any opened container of alcohol in the cabin, drinking it or otherwise. If you've had a bottle of Jacks at a party, only drank half, and take the other half home, its illegal to carry it in the cabin, coz its been opened. Anyhow, its only illegal if you get caught!
  11. Your local Toyota dealer. Expect to pay through the nose, because they aren't cheap. Like, to the tune of 3 or 4 hundred bucks for each piece, so, that times 4. Only alternative is the Thai Hybrid Camry ones which a few here have, which are genuine Toyota, and can be had for around $350 plus shipping. These ones are slightly different to our facelift Sportivo ones in that the have a slight blue tinge and a small red section, as opposed to the Aus ones which are all clear. You have to order from RStyleRacing (or you may find some elsewhere online, but still unlikely to be from Aus) unless somebody here wants to part with their set.
  12. Given the woeful new search function and to save starting a new thread, I'm gonna hijack this one further. I'm ordering my HIDs today. I have been thinking 6000k, but now I'm not so sure. After comparing photos of 5000k and 6000k, I notice that 5000k is very pure white, but 6000k has a slight tinge of blue. Is this accurate in real life? How much blue do 6000k really have, or moreso, is it noticably blue when driving towards you?
  13. Swapped out my park light bulbs for 25 SMD white LEDs last night. Looks much better. I never thought my Blue Vision parkers looked very blue or white at all, and comparing 1 with a white LED it was obvious just how yellow the BlueVisions really are! Will be ordering my eyelids and hopefully my HIDs today, so I can at least have something visually unique about my car here!
  14. My previous cars were a bit sh!t, so I rarely went further than a wash and the occasional polish with them, therefore I'm relatively inexperienced in this whole detailing game. But I'm really, really anal about the finish of my Aurion, so I've gotten hardcore into detailing. Anyway, the time has come and gone to re-wax my car. I waxed her about 4 months ago, and she's well and truly ready for another go-over. Is there anything special I need to do to prep the surface before applying a fresh coat of wax? Or will a wash, dry, clay, scratch/swirl removal, and polish do?
  15. i think the angel eye fog light u were talking about is as follow My link just not sure if the blue colour angel eye is legal but they are cheap, only just over $50 aud for the lights( but pretty sure the ship price will more than that, and worry about the quality) Sorry, but yuck! I mean, each to their own, of course, but personally, that looks awful. Perhaps it would look better on a car? Or in white instead of blue? If they're LEDs it shouldnt be too hard to swap them out for white ones.
  16. Agree 100% Except Miley would have to wait til shes 18. 17 is legal down here, but morally, I just couldn't. If she's too young to pick up at a bar, she's too young to take home. Also, as fit as present Hilary is, I think I preferred late teens Hilary that I thought was hot when I was that age.
  17. All I got out of that was "Here's 2 pretty much unrelated cars - an entry level premium vehicle, and a base model regular old family sedan. And here's why there is no comparison between them." The only suitable comparison here would have been between the 9-3 and a ZR6. Now we're comparing as equivalent specs as we're gonna get, the Aurion is the obvious choice to any smart buyer. Sure you don't get to be a pompous a*sehole telling everybody you drive a Saab, but for an extra $599 you get more power, more space, and when you weigh up the difference in price to for services, parts, and then throw in the fact that if you live anywhere near a city you've pretty much got a Toyota dealer on your doorstep, then that $599 extra has soon paid for itself and then some.
  18. Too many people rely too much on Redbook I think. For the sake of an anecdote, when I sold my old Lancer VR-X, I spent a week scouting the net to determine its worth. I couldn't find many VR-X coupes going at the time, but even for the lower spec levels with around my KMs, the average price came out to be roughly $7,500. Yet I struggled (though after 3 months trying, managed) to get $6k for mine, coz every prospective buyer had looked up the Redbook value, which claimed it to be less than $5k. In the end, I would have come out better off if I wrote her off, coz she was insured for $8k! The moral of the story is don't rely on Redbook. In Tassie, cars seem to go for a little bit more than the Eastern mainland states, because the market isn't as big here, and to get one from the mainland takes hassle and money that a lot of people probably can't be bothered to go through. That said, I bought my ZR6 from Stevenson's in Launceston for $26,500 down from $29,900. Just over 2 years old with 57k kms. For a 3 and a half year old SX with only just over a years worth of kms, I'd say at least a couple of grand on top of the Redbook price sounds pretty reasonable. Talk to Co-Op, see what sorta price they can do. I've never found a car dealer that can't be haggled out of a couple of grand. ;)
  19. Well, on that thought, after a tank and a bit I can definately feel an improvement. Coming down from the back of Spreyton this arvo with her loaded floor to ceiling with DJ gear, I put the foot flat from 20km/h and it certainly feels like its got a bit more go. Not a massive difference, but still better than before. I don't imagine the placebo effect has much to do with that either, coz I thought at the time how much better she ran, but up until 10 minutes ago, I completely forgot I'd even put the cleaner through! Its still driving a bit funny (yeah, real decriptive, I know, lol), think I need a balance and an alignment, and possibly get my gearbox ECU reset for good measure.

    NBA Thread

+1 for being a Celtics fan. Bit disappointed at the lack of Celtics games on One though. I've only seen 1. Prior to this season, I hadn't really kept up with NBA since back the Chicago Bulls were the big thing at primary school. I've been wanting to get back into it, especially now its back on free TV, but I'm pretty rusty on the format, so when I've got some time I think I need to have a big Wikipedia session and bring myself back up to scratch.

    Driving songs

For me, mostly dance music... Cruising: Anything and Everything. UK Hard Dance ( , Maddox, etc, etc), Rock/Metal/PostHardcore (Disturbed, Stone Sour, Slipknot, , I Am Ghost, Bullet For My Valentine), Drum & Bass (Pendulum, , etc, etc), and pretty much anything else that isn't country or pop.Agressive: Usually a bit of , , and other UK Garage stuff. I like to be laid back and chillaxed when I'm driving way too fast around windy roads. That or some deep, grooving Drum 'n' Bass.Night town cruising: UK Hard Dance, Progressive House ( , ), Electro (Buy Now - Body Crash, Kurd Maverick - Blue Monday (Lorne Padman... Remix), Lea Luna - Leaving for Mars (Autoslide Remix)), or Breaks (D.Marley - Hey Girl, Mad Blitz - Viva La Vida)
  22. Looking for a new glove box door for my Aurion. Need to cut up the back of mine a bit and I don't really want to, so I wanna get another one instead. The dash of the current Camry is 90% identical to the Aurion, so I would assume the glovebox would be interchangable? Anyone know where I can get hold of one? Cheers.
  23. With adjustable coilovers, you have a little tab on the top in which a knob can be attached to so that you can adjust the rebound/dampening. The EDFC system is basically a motor that attaches to the top of each coilover and replaces the need to manually turn a knob. You can then do this remotely from the comfort of your drivers seat. Since the top of the Pedders coilovers are kind of similar to the Tein ones, I would imagine with a little bit of creativity, you may be able to get the EDFC to control the Pedders. I wonder how difficult it would be to further customise the EDFC to convert it to a USB system to be controlled from a carputer (bit like this dude did with his TPMS)?
  24. I'd be keen as mustard for a Lyell Hwy run. Might be even worth talking to the rest of the ToyoTAS boys, see if we can get a joint cruise happening maybe? Though the weathers been a bit iffy lately.
  25. Half tempted to give this Toyota one a burl, just to see how it goes. Have a bottle out for me, Matt, I'll be there in 20. But which one of the some do you use? The Toyota Genuine or Fuel Doctor products above, or something else?
