  1. Nah wasn't paying attention to the tacho but I swear the speed was less than 40k's, usually I just play it by ear...
  2. Just a question, has anyone noticed the rev limiter kick in earlier with regular unleaded compared to premium? (Not that I suppose many people use regular but I thought i'd ask anyway) Reason I ask is 'cause I usually use BP premium 95 but I filled up a tank of regular Shell unleaded the other day. Stupid station had no premium & I was running pretty low but on the plus side I got 12c/L off the price so it was under $1/L ;) Anyway taking off from the lights today I accelerated pretty quickly & seemed to hit the limiter in 1st alot quicker than I would normally do i.e. never. Felt like a right idiot too
  3. $1,050 total - $1000 for rims/tyres & $50 for a chrome grille ;) Had big plans when I bought the car but now i'm keeping it pretty stock since i'll probably give it to my dad when the new 'rollas come out...
  4. Yeah i've seen the one armed boxer on SBS a couple of times If you want a good laugh check out Geung si sin sang aka Mr Vampire http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089371/
  5. 10 weeks is nothing, try 2 year old groceries in the boot including eggs :P I'm just glad none of them broke in the meantime otherwise I would've never gotten rid of the smell. Back on topic & without seeing pics I find it unusual that 2 people were killed, in most Corolla accidents i've seen the passenger cell remains pretty intact. I recall seeing a similar accident to the original post a couple of months ago and I was surprised that both driver and passenger walked away...
  6. 2years/40,000km is the major service. I don't have my book handy but according to my past topic this was the service schedule... http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...?showtopic=5540
  7. I think it's more like a guide to bad spelling Anyway check out 'Aussie English' or 'Aussie Etiket' by John O'Grady for a true slice of 'Strine...
  8. Congratulations Finished my Commerce degree last Wednesday (assuming I passed the final exams), I should be happy but i'm feeling a bit empty at the moment. Dunno what to do, probably should be looking for a job but from my past work experience I know things are pretty quiet approaching Xmas. Guess i'll take a trip or something and see what my options are in the new year... Different strokes I suppose. I did a fulltime TAFE Accounting diploma & then worked my way up from collections to accounting and finance within 5 years. Eventually I got bored of my role so I quit to pursue further education. My TAFE Diploma gave me a year of uni credits & I would've finished the course mid year but certain subjects weren't available until spring session...
  9. It's easy to clean :P
  10. Just found this link on another forum; The first 3 laps of the '79 Bathurst Race with a Celica on-board cam & Brocky leading in the Torana A9X... I was born in '79, does that make me old :(
  11. I've noticed a pretty big economy difference going from regular unleaded to 95 but there wasn't too much difference between 95 & 98. Personally i've found that for day to day driving 98 is not really worth the extra couple of cents.
  12. Bit late but I saw two silver Sportivos at Westfield Hurstville last Saturday (12/08), one pre facelift & one post...

    ROAD RAGE

Yeah I saw this on Digg the other day, shame the Canadian hillbillys were driving a Toyota eh... Funniest road rage story, my first time driving up to Sydney on my own I had a pair of idiots in a crap old Daihatsu run a stop sign and pull in front of me on the Princes Highway at Rockdale. I gave them the horn so they then tried to block me from passing. Anyway I got past and the next set of lights they got out of the car :o One of them comes up & opens my door so I proceed to slam the door on his fingers Lights turn green, I pull away and the guy is left screaming in pain in the middle of the intersection. Serves him right...

  17. Yeah but so do Commodore & Falcon. Screw resale, it might affect trade-in values but as a private buyer I wouldn't touch an ex-fleet car...
  18. Or else this might happen :(
  19. 11am - Red facelift Sportivo around Hurstville, plates MIN-xxS
  20. As far as I know flat shifting is changing gears without lifting off the throttle.
  21. I'd be interested if they fit the OEM plugs since I don't want to go hacking up the wiring loom...
  22. Spotted in Oak Flats. Stock black Sportivo at the beauty salon next door, plates AE-47-xx
  23. Here's a great site for many old games including Stunts ;) http://www.abandonia.com/ I've spent hours browsing their catalogue. Alot of the games are downloadable while some are ESA protected, I can't believe how many games I used to have on the Amiga & C64... And while i'm at it here's another site with many old C64 games playable on the Web i.e. no downloads required... http://c64s.com/
  24. I reckon this one is better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-5avM9PGdE...=tiff%20needell And here's some FF driving techniques. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBPH94cYKO0...=tiff%20needell
