they just came :) yeah my dad's corty. i forgot how stress free i can be when driving my dad's corty. everyone is scared of my tank, MUHAHAHAHA :D

  2. seen him around sunshine too lol.....
  3. wait i think i worded it wrong... i slowed down 5 to 10 km/hr less than 35km/hr, so the speed at which i hit the gutter would have been at least 25km/hr closer to 30km/hr. if i hit the gutter at 5km/hr or even 10km/hr, i don't think it would have mattered to the car at all =|
  4. brakes were off as soon as i knew the car slid, corrected the steering to be straight as possible with the gutter because at the time : 1) there was nothing i could do but to minimise the damage 2) there were 3 other people in the car that i didn't want to be hurt i know i entered the corner at around 35km/hr. so by the time the car hit the gutter would have slowed down to maybe 5km/hr less? anyways. anyways i realy hope the cross member is ok. i don't want my car to vibrate at 140km/hr on the track...
  5. Haha thanks for the flowers lee No i dont think they let me down. They have saved me many times in the wet. It was a combibation of wet, sloping of the road and over confidence. The weight transfer would have shifted differently as well with 3 other people in the car. I need to track the car in the wet to understand more how it behaves so i can further refine my driving skills. Not that so i can drive in corners at stupid speeds but just to know where the cars limit is when cornering in the wet. Lesson was clearly learnt and now i wont be with my car for at least 2 weeks. Quick inspection of the car: Tie rod bent, lower control arm gone, brake rotor is gashed on the inner surface (looks like someone got an axe and smacked it with the sharp end) brake plate punctured, steering arm bent. Parts im unsure of: Front sway seems to be bent. The important part is the cross member. This seems to be bent as well but im just comparing one side to the other. The thing that probably took some impact would be the front strut. I didnt hit the gutter very hard (30km/hr?) so hopefully my car wont b a write off. I just want the car to be towed off becuz i cannot stand the sight of it like this. Its a constant reminder of my inexperience and overconfidence which caused a very aviodable accident Kenshin out

  7. haha yeah i think i enjoyed it too much... :( OK guys... you're asking what had happened? Short story: Turned in too fast, steered too fast, slid to the side and hit the gutter. Long story: Was wet road and little showery. The usual road i take to go home from the city. Turned right at the intersection. Car started to understeer as i was entering the corner in 2nd gear at around 35 km/hr. was sliding out slowly slowly, i fully let go off the gas and the car still wouldn't oversteer/countersteer. by this time i thought "nope. nothing i can do now... even if i tapped the brakes to swing the car around abit, i'll still cause damage on both rims" So i just quickly straightened the steering so the wheels were as straight as possible with the gutter, gripped the steering wheel closed my eyes and hoped for the best... a loud DOOF! People in the car thought just looked at me in shock. Hazard lights on and in the rain to check what the damage i had caused. Front wheel had been pushed towards the back and in a positive camber. the rear wheels were a little gutter rashed. steering wheel was out of allignment towards the left, however not pulling to one side or vibrating. ABS light had turned on. Managed to get home from the scene with everyone else ok. Upon closer inspection deep rashes on my front left rim on the outside (and inside). haven't checked the rear wheel yet, (don't really want to). most important thing is no one was hurt and it could have been worse. thanks to the guys who stayed with me til everything was sorted out. didn't leave until 2am and i didn't sleep until 3.30am... Rang the insurance company and i they will arrange for a tow to tow my car to their secure holding on thursday, 48hrs for an assessor to come and look and a mechanic to come and look at the car. so they will give me an idea on either monday/tuesday next week and tell me what is damaged and what needs to be done etc. so, because of my stupidity, i have caused this to myself. just another lesson to learn in life i guess...
  8. oh man... grinded trying to shift from 1st to 2nd in lift today :(

  10. my car looks so outta place man... i need monster decal :P one for each side and one on the bonnet :P
  11. LAWL AT BUNNY HOPPER AND LOW RIDER!!!!
  12. "comfy daily ride" u really crack me up -_- :P kinda knew the never ending cycle ages ago. but its more apparent now becuz of the lightened flywheel and clutch... gah...
  13. i found with the hp-x pads i got in at the front now compared to my trds, they require less effort to brake. i had hit abs when braking heavily which was strange as my trds with the supposedly softer compound had to given abit more for the same braking power. never ending adjusting to my style of driving lol.............. -_- good thing is my front rims dont require much cleaning, which is stupid becuz the fronts are braking 65% compared to the back. yet the back gets more brake dust on them lol <_<
  14. i remember reading somewhere that the cut-out point of the rev limiter is also influenced by the type of oil youre running the engine on. i don't know the technical aspects of fluid dynamics in an engine, but it could be influenced by the oil pressure from a particular oil viscosity. i see... so dyslexik's theory with engine oil might be correct... does anyone on the forums use HPR5 sem syn? cuz thats what i'm using atm... i know eviltwin uses it but i don't think he is willing to hit limiter for me LOL. :P he did say when toyota stole his oil and used the normal toyota genuine one he car was sluggish and slow on response but the limiter was still the same. maybe there was still some of the better oil coated on the engine hence the ecu still allowed to rev to 8.2k? i have hit 8k limo ONCE. thats when i was in first gear revving up slowly to the limiter. did this yesterday after resetting the ecu but still doesn't work :( this was also on hpr5. i just rang toyota customer relations. ecu flash was already done in sept 2004 which was the date of the reciept with the above info
  15. yeah rolling its ok, but 1st gear u can't just get go of the clutch slowly while pressing the gas like with the old flywheel. u'll just stall... -_- was thinking of getting the friction point adjusted lower. but in doing this would the displacement of the clutch wouldn lessen? cuz if this is the case then i'm more prone to crunch gears and i dont want this. but then again the higher friction point is sometimes annoying with the new flywheel as i cannot start moving the car like before. its touch and go thing... sometimes still getting trouble to put into first when stationary at the lights not to sure about the billet flywheels dude... might have to ask mo about that.
  16. sorry for bumping a mega old thread. did the rev limiter change after the new and revised ecu was put in? i find it very strange that my limiter is at 7.8k whereas every other stivo i have ever known has their limiter at 8k or 8.2k. i'm ringing up toyota and giving the my vin to see whether it has been changed or not. no sticker anywhere in my car or service book. and i was wondering if they would still do it even after 8 years since my car was released from the factory. one of my reciepts (07/09/04 has this printed at the top: J# 1 50T0ZZECUCSE *COROLLASPORTIVOSE* Tech(s) : GL Waranty * REPLACE * AIR CLEANER CAP * AND ENGINE ECU (4529E1) COMPUTER SET did people get this on their reciepts? cheers :)
  17. yeah for 500 to 600 kms i was doing ALOT of in and out action with the clutch, make sure that all the oil residue was burnt off and that the clutch and flywheel are properly beded in. even when i was travelling at cruising speeds i use the clutch and change gears often, using gears for engine braking etc. axle tramping issues can be of two things 1) movement of engine. i found that the engine mount inserts solved this issue straight away. all power was directed on to the ground as well with the traction. but the harshness of the mount inserts just detered me from continuing to use them. whats more is my front motor mount is slightly cracked causing more movement of the engine. (yes need to address this problem quickly). pedders when they inspected it said its not too bad yet but keep it under inspection every 6 months. i'm due for it soon... 2) my tyre pressures 40psi (cold) is probably abit much, i'll decrease it to 38psi cold and see how i go. xtreme accidently gave him the FTY007C which is not even the 2zzge one. correct part no. was FTY013"CL" C = chromoly CL = lightened chromoly. I made sure he got the correct one the second time. my flywheel is actually 4.6kg. 1.4kgs lighter than the stock. yes i am still stalling it at times because i'm not used to the lightened flywheel -_- now the ONLY reaso why i didn't get the aluminium (3.9kg) one is that i cannot machine the flywheel everytime when my clutch goes gagagoogoo... not to mention the drivablility as well (my mrs will drive the car in the future) also when hitting lift and changing it into 2nd, its just a beautiful thing, just BANG! goes into gear without any crunching/dragging/clutch grabbing whatsoever. imo i really think its not harder to land in lift because when u changing the gears the cars inertia is still the same as when i got the stock flywheel. so while the revs drop quicker, the quicker shifting i can do now i am able to finish the shifting and engaging clutch above the 5.5k rev mark. cars rev depends on the speed of the car not the lightened flywheel if u know what i mean. one day we drive each others car. its better explained when ur inside the car with me lol with the rims i took them to claude today and he said he will clean them and gave the rough parts a light hand sand and do another coat on the top of it. he did say that with one of them he wasn't happy with the finish so he did another coat JUST ON THAT RIM. so as i was inspecting all 4 i did notice one of them was better than the other 3 and that probably was the one that got coated twice. top bloke and obviously cares about his company's rep so thats why he is doing them again for me. he said even if i brought it back 6 months later he would do it again becuz he told me that the colour on this powdercoat will never fade. even under the UV sunlight after many years. so he is confident about the products he uses. obivously he wouldn't be doing things like letter boxes and fences if the colour fades over time. now just getting the time to take the tyres off and put them on the stockies and bringing the green ones in for him to do again.
