  1. Lol well any Tasmanian mountain road or back road with peaks and troughs in winter. You can go from good grippy tarmac one second to skating on ice just like that, not good when you come around a right hander that heads downhill into a tight left hander to find the road from half way around the right hander is just pure ice & for half of it you were just a passenger. once we stopped we went for a walk back up the hill (and when i say walk i mean skate on your ***** because walking on it was near on impossible in patches) you could see a very defined line were the sun had hit the road and were it hadn’t, just like day and night. Closest I’ve ever came to crashing the ZR6! just thankful i had the line stop on into the corner which landed me fair on the apex of the tight left hander and have massive stopping power that even downhill on ice managed to wash enough speed off so that i could make the turn OH and it even tore the ice off the road too! (now that's impressive) but i still remember the moment when i realised it was about to go to sh!t and my mate in his AWD touched the brakes and it spat him sideways i thought god that just happened in an AWD what's going to happen in a FWD.. But i do have to say the Active Braking with intelligence (ABS, BA, EBD) is calibrated perfectly it did its job flawless kept the car straight and washed the speed off in some pretty intense conditions that came from know where.
  2. As you can see from DJKOR's post I’m using TRD's BF-5 High Boiling point Brake Fluid. It's white in colour and completely 100% compatible with the Aurion’s brake package.
  3. Yeah i can't recall anybody who's being able to undo these nuts by hand (& this is a good thing) Most of us have used air tools to get them undone, but don’t use them to retighten them though, use the biggest socket wrench you can get your hands on. Also a good idea in a week to have another crack at them to retighten once it's settled in. Softies :P lol even the Air Gun struggled to undo mine, had to knock it up a few notches. BUT i now remember paradigm and i got his off with some fairly basic tools, few swear words but wasn’t too bad considering the tools we used.. lol
  4. Neither of these are dual-clutch gearboxes, they are sequential semi-automatics. Must of being why they were so dead average when compared to the Porsche Tiptronic system which was still quite flawed when compared to a DSG system
  5. How do you say SWEEEETTTTTT!!!!!!!!
  6. This question has being covered in the FAQ section of Aurion but yes this will fit Aurion's 2GR-FE V6 :)
  7. TMR 380 Supercharged 0-100 There's a video of the car. video says 0-100 in 5.77 which is pretty quick but i would think it would be very similer to TRD Aurion in Performance till around 150-160kms, if you compare videos with a TRD Aurion, The TRD does look quicker though espcially to 60 as it has more mechanical grip and ofcourse a more advanced DAT systemt to help stem the torque delivery.
  8. Yeah for sure some hardcore diamond fan will pick it up. Maybe a Evo X driver that wants something a little more casual & less brutal as daily?

  10. Yeah you’re not wrong, in series one from the outside the VRX really didn’t look any different to the GT, just had different alloys and a lip spoiler, Series two had different alloys lip spoiler moulded into the boot and clear lamps (which looked pretty cool) then in Series 3 they gave it a more muscular look with grey inserts into the spoiler and grille, chunky alloys and high mount spoiler, shame they took away the clear lenses though. There's an orange series 3 in my local area that has being lowered and has some nice multi spoke 18's or 19's under it that really set it off, nicest 380 I’ve seen other than a TMR of course. The 380 was never bad car it rode and handled well looks weren’t offensive and were priced well. Interior was showing its age by the end of its life though. But if you was in the market for a big comfortable powerful daily driver or cheap family car then a late model 380 with good kays would be hard to go wrong although same sort of money could buy you a 36 series V6 Sportivo or Azure.
  11. It can be quite confusing can't it? However, we would consider DSG the base name for that type of transmission. Not every DSG gearbox carry twin clutches, right? For instance, the Honda Accord Euro has the gearbox which can be classified as such, but from what i believe it is only single clutch. I guess you could say DSG is the base name for this type of gear box. it was really the VW group that has made them a mainstream gearbox, so the most popular car to carry this type of gearbox has it badged as DSG(Direct Shift Gearbox)so that’s the name that has taken off with the public followed by DCT. No not quite the Accord Euro's 5 speed box is essentially the same idea as what’s in Aurion, Commodore, falcon and any gearbox with a "sports mode" Remembering DSG, DCT, TC-SST, PDK etc essentially are two separate gearboxes with their own separate clutches bolted together with computers controlling the show. One gearbox and clutch has the odd gears and the other takes care of the even gears, that's how come they can pre select the next gear and have the clutch already half engaged ready to release the rest of the way given you those lightning fast gear shifts, because the next gear is in the other half of the gearbox ready to go (or the other gearbox to be precise)
  12. It would be a hell of a lot of car for that sort of coin! will probably go for around 40-45k though. Still very unique and quick car though
  13. Yeah i don't mind the look of the car although take away the big brakes and wheels and in terms of styling its not a massive difference to a 175kw VRX. I'm sure a mad Mitsubishi owner will snap it up. i showed the car to my mate who has a Ralliart Magna and i thought he was going to blow lol! From what Ive read on the car it's quite a fine handling machine and with those supercar brakes f8rk it would stop! it would pull the tar of the road! And then you could put it back on the road with your face as you go through the windscreen! Yeah drive the tits off it sounds like the only way to me!
  14. Don't be scared, put the 19mm Anti-Roll bar in. that's where the biggest difference is :)
  15. So do we all remember the TMR 380? It was virtually going to be TRD Aurion's only direct rival. it was announced that it had the "ok" for production only a day before the announcement came that production of the 380 would cease at Tonsley Park. These 20 TMR cars were produced after the mainstream 380 production had finished. of course most of these cars are in the hands of Mitsubishi Australia’s corporate managers but a few did make it out to the dealer network who it appears most kept as a collectors car but some was sold and used as daily drivers. Anyway specs of the car do look pretty good: - 3.8 V6 running a Sprintex S3/335 Supercharger with 6.5psi of boost - 230kw @5250rpm - 442Nm @4000rpm - Dual Exhaust Outlets - TMR Koni tuned adjustable coil over Suspension - 5 Speed Manual Or 5 Speed Auto with Sports Mode - TMR Front Strut Tower Brace - Polished 19x8 ROH Flared alloys wrapped in Yokohama Advan Sport 225/40Z R19 tyres - Custom interior featuring TMR Logo's and Accents - Brakes Front: 370mm Grooved Hat Mounted Rotors with 6! Piston TMR Callipers (not that's not a mistake, there 370mm with 6 pots!) - Brakes Rear: 340mm Grooved Hat Mounted Rotors with 4 Piston TMR Callipers - Braided Brake Lines Front & Rear with race Formula Fluid One of the TMR's was raffled off but the winner wasn’t in a place where he needed the car, the money would do a better thing for him & his young family so he has put it back in TMR's hands to sell it on his behalf. apparently he has never driven th car as he thought he'd never want to get rid of it if he did SO Here's a link to the car! http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=11058375&keywords=tmr&tsrc=allcarhome&__Ntk=CarAll&__Nne=15&__Dx=mode matchany&__D=tmr&silo=1011&seot=1&__sid=130ED30D5AB0&__N=1216 1246 1247 1252 1282 4294964597 4294964376&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Qpb=1&__Ntx=mode matchallpartial&Cr=0&__Ntt=tmr&trecs=2 $47,500!! do we think it will sell or sit there and rust?? I guess you would never see another one but it's a lot of money for a car that was never really all that loved in the first place. BUT could maybe be a nice addition to a private collector where gaining value isnt the most important thing. Thoughts?

    2012 Camry

Yeah that's what i thought... kind of backwards.. Whole reason they put them in the Camry was because 1. They were brighter and therefore safer and 2.drew less energy therefore made the alternator not have to work as hard which in turn gave you better fuel economy. Would be strange for them not to use them again on the new model.
  17. Yeah every company has a diferent name for esstially the same thing but ofcourse some systems are much better than others. Lamborghini call it E- Gear VW Group of Companies call it DSG (execpt Porsche) Porsche PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe) say that ten times fast Mitsubishi in the Lancer Evo X & Ralliart call it TC-SST Nissan and BMW call it DCT these days with SMG being BM's old system Theres a few others out there too but these are the main ones. Lambo has a new system too which is meant to of moved the game on again.
  18. Yeah nah I’d be pulling that out and going again, it hasn’t quite gone in right and the top section with the clock and vents hasn’t quite gone in square or clipped in right, sometimes you have to be a bit brutal with the dash parts, almost to the point where you think you’re going to break something.
  19. Guys remember DSG (or whatever the company wants to call it) actually have two clutches... and in my experience with the current crop of VW DSG's ( in both TSI/FSI & TDI sports models and family wagons) i haven’t found a single one of them to be clunky or abrupt around town on the highway or backloads. parking (especially on an incline) you can hear what appears to be the electronic clutch going in or out and the engine note changing just like a manual but there no way any different or sound any different or make any more weird noises than a conventionally Manual or Auto. Was a drama with the early ones that they would roll on a hill like a manual which put people off but now they come standard with hill hold or hill start assist as either built in or on a on/off switch. Guys you really need to get out and experience these gearboxes behind a properly good car. In reality left to its own devices in D it just is the smartest most switched on Auto you’ve driven and in Sports mode you couldn’t ask for a better high performance friend.

    2012 Camry

MMM just noticed something, do you guys think there is LED's in those tale lights?

    2012 Camry

Again i guess to be fair to the new car we have to wait till we can touch feel and drive the thing before we have our final says, but yes it does look like a bunch of cars all put together lol
  22. Putting your AT-X "luxury" spec shock absorbers with heavy duty Kings/peddars springs you will shorten the life of the shocky because of course there not working quite the way they was designed too. Sportivo and TRD will fare slightly better as they are slightly lower (TRD more so) and also firmer and heavier duty. Before i put the coil overs in my ZR6 i had TRD Aurion Shock absorbers and US TRD Camry SE V6 lowered springs and the miss match of spring rates and damper rates and spring height to shock absorber took a slight toll on the shockies although you never heard any noises from inside the car from the suspension at all not even through wash out or large bumps/ditches but when you had it on the hoist and pushed the suspension up the guys at work said yeah it wasn’t 100% healthy but certainly had many many kms to go before needing replacing. So yeah id suggests the standard soft shockies of the ATX would suffer somewhat under king or peddar springs.
  23. WIN! DOUBLE WIN!! Same/ similar as these fellas, but i take it to a whole different level, with Eurodance, Euro-Hard Trance and Uk Happy Hardcore<< the main one... there is no better Happy Hardcore then HTID (Hardcore Til I Die!) Evo Oh yeah, how could I forget hardcore! Though for me its the less happy of the hardcores - namely Freeform. OH is that what there calling justin beiber (lowercase on purpose )these days is it Foss hahah
  24. Now that is a real pity... Hopefully they have already picked up the changes that were made by TMCA last time. btw my ZR6 is white and I had to wait from October until the middle of Feb to get it. Maybe they were in the middle of a LHD run... lol that is strange? White is a very common Sportivo colour, did yours have the sunroof by any chance? And nah it isn't anything to do with LHD/RHD. the Toyota production system and the Altona plant is so advanced that a Thai spec left hand drive Camry could be built followed by a RHD Aust Spec Aurion Sportivo. Camry and Aurion in all their different specs are built on the same line at the same time. Yes, sunroof & sat nav... probably explains the delay. Yeah they had a slight issue with the sunroof drip drains so they stopped producing cars with sunroofs for a month or so whilst they came up with a fix so i daresay that is the reason or your delay.
