  1. Swapped cars with me DP for the weekend, AWD Golf R :) miss the space of the ZR6 already though lol

  2. It can be had for around $110 delivered so I'm thinking of taking the plunge... once the tax man has come and gone yeah it's a pretty cheap mod, will probably notice the difference more on non Sportivo's but will compliment the factory brace on Sportivo pretty good as well.
  3. Hey , hey Nah that picture doesn’t really show it all that well, in that image you see there is a 19mm rear anti-roll bar and either side of that there is a brace that comes off the suspension sub frame mounting to the trailing arm joint bracing the suspension further, again much like the front one not allowing the suspension geometry to "walk" around under hard cornering, Note though that this bar will still fit Sportivo an TRD models even though they have a factory brace in that region. In fact this UR brace will perfectly compliment the factory brace as the factory brace, stiffens and braces the suspension from the chassis rails rearward to the trailing arm mount and the UR product braces from the trailing arm mount to the suspension sub frame.
  4. Yeah from what i've seen theres nothing really to make current owners rush out and buy the new one... BUT hay you never now they might suprise us :)

    2012 Camry

lol WELL if there's anybody from Toyota reading this they must be a little nervous that a bunch of current model Camry and Aurion owners aren’t really blown away with the new design then imagine what the rest of the motoring world will be saying... Reason we have Camry 4 and Aurion V6 in Australia is because we needed a halo car people knew was a V6, the old camrys in customers eyes were considered a 4cyls by the general masses and there for never considered as a falcodore competitor.

    2012 Camry

mm i dunno.. Just doesn’t look exciting enough... could very well be a current gen car doesn’t look like a new car.. Has a bit of ZRE Corolla sedan about it with some Honda Accord euro, Suby Liberty and Holden Cruze or even epica about it? Interior does look a step up from 40's series though however. Guess we'll have to wait to see it in the flesh. does alarm me though that Toyota Style Australia has had no influence in the next gen Camry and Aurion... so no doubt the Camry will be the tougher looking car without the means to back it up... not sure what all this means for Aurion Sportivo surely this has to be designed here in Australia along with its ride and handling package. Really is the last roll of the dice though they can’t get this car wrong.. On the upside there is a fairly hardcore rear suspension in the new car, so handling should be a marked improvement across the range.
  7. Well over the weekend i finally got around to installing the braided brake lines. Remsa pads and TRD BF-5 brake fluid. ran out of time so will have to fit the new HP-X pads next weekend and give the brake system a bit more of a hardcore bleed as the pedal feel is initially a little bit softer than it was before but we was running out of time so only gave it a quick one, stops very well though when you get serious and has got better over the weekend now the pads are bedding in more and should be an ever better thing than before once the brakes a bleed better and new pads in the rear. First things I’ve noticed about the Remsa's is there much quieter than the bendix and produce far less dust! Here’s a few pics of the install including some of the punished old Bendix pads.
  8. 85Nm (63ft/lb) if you want to follow the service manual. Thanks for that setting info DJKOR, what amazes me is that my son has a 2004 2.4 litre Camry Sportivo and they came standard with the Strut brace, it handles better than my Prodigy but doesnt have the grunt. I wonder why they didnt put the Tower Strut brace in as standard equipment on newer faster cars like the Aurion Spotivo and TRD? Aurion Sportivo and of course TRD (as every TRD started life as a SX6 or ZR6) do actually indeed have a strut tower brace located in the cowl panel area. The Sportivo/TRD chassis features many external and internal bracing to firm up the chassis for a more "alive" direct driving experience. :)
  9. you can get a Toyota sachet for like .55c? or it in a bottle for about $9.00 from memory.
  10. looks like he's had some alcantara stiched into the seats, the TRD 3500S had this as opposed to the full leather of the SL, So may of being trying to replicate that?
  11. Aurion thought i'd just share this with the group. alway good to see what other people have done to their car.
  12. Nicest wheel Rodney Jane has made i think. doesnt look half bad at all on a white one. :)
  13. Wow closest i've ever came to crashing the Zr6 on the weekend... i dislike sheet ice.. i dislike 3 sections of it even more.. espcially coming down a steepish hill into a pretty tight left hander... i like my mates awd GTO coupe but if i never see it's B pillar a few metres off my bonnet again that will be just fine with me lol

    1. Pah

      Pah

sounds like a close call :) only ever had the fun of driving on black ice once, cant say it was fun glad it didnt end bad for you mate

yeah she was a bit full on there for a second, but has to be said the AB-i system on the car worked flawless and even in hoffic icey conditions were you couldnt barely walk on the road let alone drive is still managed to wash enough speed off to get the job done. has to be also said aurions are quite contolable when they step out sideways.. was a bit fun but id gladly never do it again though

  14. yeah right, didn't realise it was 3-4 years old my bad... somebody must of being digging deep to pull this one up again.
  15. You must have missed the bit where it said that this was in 2007... how could it be a 2007 Avalon? Aurion replaced Avalon mid 2006...
  16. You paid how much for an 04 Avalon????? holy smoke! we have a gold one here exactly the same with 90,000kms for 10k... lol
  17. The 4000 series XS are also Kangaroo paw, but you're correct in saying that for track work, you'd be better off with just a normal slotted rotor. Also, the DBA options are now in stock!! Also we've got a current special at the moment of free shipping on DBA rotor till the end of July. Thanks for that Greg :)
  18. Awww Yummy! last night when we was messing around with the coil over’s on my car i got in checked out the pads/rotors on my car, and noticed a slight lip emerging on the outer edge of the rotor face, although the rest of the rotor was dead smooth perfect even no marks from rocks or anything but gee those DBA's look pretty awesome. fighting the urge not to get some but at the moment i know they’d just sit around with the Remsa and HPX pads, braided lines and TRD brake fluid until i get the time to put the suckers in. But just to be clear on something, the 4000 XS are the gold ones that don’t run kangaroo paw and are only designed for hard road use not track use is that right? If you want to do a bit of both i understand you’re better off with the standard 4000 slotted?
  19. Hey mate, How have you found the peddars Coil over’s? I'm running them in my ZR6, just had a re-think in terms of set up, completely reversed how i had it before and it's just a weapon again even better than the TRD setup i had before! Ride isn’t to bad either for 35series rubber
  20. Would have to be an ex gf's father's Aston Martin DBS :) :) :) :) :)
  21. Midnight mechanics did good again lol!
  22. I wish i could say i was under the influence when this idea popped into my head haha
  23. I really have to credit Adamsy for the research and making-of-enquiries, I just jumped on the "grab me one while you're at it" bandwagon. Therefore I'm not 100% on this, so don't quote me, but I believe its a DOT 5.1 or something very similar to it. Apparently there's only this and another high performance fluid that are ok for Aurion. With a bit of luck Adamsy will spot this and confirm all this for me. This is Genuine TRD fluid, Direct from Japan Designed for use in our local Toyota's and as far as the technical centre here in Australia is concerned only this and Castrol SRF are deemed ok for use in Aurion and TRD Aurion PBR sourced brake system :)
  24. OHHHH cmon now the race track doesnt lie Foss :P closed the half lap gap to you and tuxy in like a lap and a half :P look at those alwesome battles with tuxy and those race lines bruv, could easily be vettel in that helmet! haha
