  1. Trouble with the GTR is that it's like a fighter jet. You dont drive a GTR you tell it which direction you want to go and the computers do the rest from there... look at them in the 12 hour races, the teams running them had to have spare ECU's as they were over heating and had to be put in a chiller. they were swapping the computers every pit stop.
  2. mmm this is strange as the 40 series Camry and Aurion have a lot more deadener in them especially across the cowl panel. HSD Camry takes it all to the next level though with much thicker deadener used all round and anybody who has driving the cars back to back its immediately evident that the hybrid is massively quieter followed by the aurion and then Camry. Aurion is generally quieter than Camry as the powertrain is light years better and much quiter.36 series certainly was well put together, dash design was nothing special but materials used were quite durable. Hopefully the new model will be a massive leap forward in this regard.
  3. Thats on bloody fast mother trucker!
  4. arghhh now i have to go and get another mod for my car ITS ALL SCOOTA's FAULT!!
  5. ohhh no, slight leak from the tranny cooler :-/

  6. I wouldn’t of thought you would run into any dramas with CT Stealth’s, i mean there just your normal run of the mill everyday pad designed to do the job so i can’t see how you could have any dramas with them destroying rotors. Also many active owners here are running QFM pads and i think we’re all pretty happy with them. So yeah i dunno perhaps your mechanic doesn’t know a whole lot about "performance" parts lol??. BUT at the end of the day if you want great pedal feel, strong retardation with little fade then you are going to have to pay for that with slightly quicker rotor and pad wear. It’s just finding the happy medium for you between performance and pad/rotor life.
  7. Yes i would be very surprised if there was an actual problem with the DBA 4000 series rotor. There highly regarded and come very much recommended. I would think you should see less drama's with this product on an Australian built vehicle as they would take extra care to make sure the product to suits these cars is spot as because local cars would make up the bread and butter of theirs sales. Which Bendix pad range are you using? i didn’t have very good experiences with the ultimate nor the SRT. Couldn’t fault the performance they stopped very well but was harsh on the rotors and created a massive amount of dust.
  8. Yeah is looking really good, espcially the Modellista model :)
  9. Lol well i think there should be her car and your car, you have a say in hers and her in yours but ultimately it should come down to what you want from a car so final decision should be yours. Listen to your partner thoughts but meh your money your car; get what feels right to you! :)
  10. Well after spending a few days away in Melbourne i came home to a very unloved looking Aurion (guessing we had storms here when i was away) so i spent the afternoon giving the big girl a wash, clear coat protect and wax, washed and cleaned the wheels (& brakes) did the tyre shine thing, cleaned the glass inside and out, got the kitten interior cleaner happening, polished the piano finish on my dash, vacuumed the whole car and detailed under the bonnet and polished out a few light scratches and now she looks showroom good again, only thing to do now before the Tassie Toyota club meet up this weekend is to give the leather a going over Happy days!
  11. Off to the big Island again tomorrow :)

the reason i asked is my folks still refer to it as the mainland, cracks me up when i hear it :)

  12. Yeah the Toyota Survey really is irrelevant in our market as DJ mentioned none of those vehicle are imported here for local sale so i doubt very few people would know what these vehicles look like let alone have an opinion on them lol :)
  13. Lol a TOYOTA Racing Developments LEXUS IS-F
  14. Realistically though, do we really think we can "feel" a 10Nm increase when we are talking about a few hundred Nm overall? well its not going to transform it into a supercar but with less weight and slightly more go it should be a bit pokier lol
  15. Yeah you won't notice the extra power that much but the extra torque will make it feel a little livelier down low especially taking in account the drop in weight. power/torque to weight will look a bit nicer. hopefully the sportivo models will be tough looking mother.
  16. Have a look at the photos of the combination meter ... this is included. That would be good... With now 204kW we shouldn't technically see any going around with P plates on them... in queensland atleast. Slightly disappointed there’s no D4-S for the new model

    2012 Camry

It's half a suprise that there is no DRL's on the new car lol
  18. Yeah i think too that it looks like a better looking current Honda Accord V6. Do like the interior very classy for a car at this price point and for sure will put Holden and ford to shame. Modest Power and torque hike, (although more torque will be nice down low) wonder what it spits out on premium fuel. Should make for an even potent family six though! More power/torque less weight! Less weight with the new rear suspension set up should make for a sharper ride/handling package especially in Sportivo which will hopefully finally wear 18in wheels!
  19. just scored some FT-86 posters at work :p

    2012 Camry

10 AIRBAGS!!!!! 10!!!!! Oh hell yeah! gone all out on aero aids hay
  21. Adamsy

    2012 Camry

Yeah I quite liking the front of the Sportivo and even the alloys although they still need to feel the guards better should have gone to 18's! & nah nobody will ever go to the extremes of VE's guards they cause drag and are very aero unstable, even Holden is cutting them in the next model.
  22. what, what what! Radar Crusie Control goes off lol, i love it!
  23. lol rest of the world dont seem convinced OH thats right it doesnt have a lion or blue oval on the front hay? MY bad
  24. NICE they have certainly made a jump in design and material, fit and finish with the inside, mm paddles in Camry who would have thought aye! Hopefully there standard in big brother Aurion. Seats look good but some extra bolstering on Sportivo would be nice too see :P
  25. WOW.... that is actually better than i expected, well the front anyway. the rear is slightly boring compared to the agressive front though. But yeah i was worried there for a while but you can't call the car boring now! Now bring on Aurion, although i don't think it will look as tough as the Camry Sportivo or Atara.
