  4. drinking and many late nights is very very bad!

  5. The heart of the most amazing girl :P ahahaha lol
  6. Big drams they have is power reshining and their suppliers being in a world of hurt add to this the fact that road and rail infrastructure is mangled mess is giving everybody headaches ;-/
  7. I did some quick searching and some mob out there had something like $2195. Don't know how old that price was though. Brutal. No where near. We just have driving roads that make full use of your brakes :P. It's no so much the "running out of brakes" that is the issue... it's the "I want to stop with more force" that is driving me. After feeling a Hybrid Camry with full regenerative braking plus standard brakes, I feel that the TRD could do with some more stopping power. I'm 83,000km on stock rotors by the way. Have to replace them real soon now though (down to 30.1mm now)... hence the additional research. mmm yeah that price really isn’t all the bad for that kind of brake package :) haha hello Targa Tasmania the ultimate tarmac rally roads right on my door step lol we have a piece of road that only moves you 250m further north but you lose 1000 feet in altitude, that’s an awesome bit of road that hammers the brakes i love hearing the transition from the cold brake squeal then the squeal fading away as the pads get heat in them and the nose of the car sinks into the road, first trip i made with the TDR package and SRT pads and loved it ever since well not so much the pads, there a bit crap when cold to live with :-/ Remsa's will fix that though :)
  8. Yeah i reckon these would fit up a treat, wonder what the damage is on them though lol. Damm you must be brutal on those brakes, i Cain the crap out of them on road trip chasing a Wrx down an only once have i got them to feel like they’re going soft and that coming to a complete stop from a silly speed that i won't mention on here but it was a big brake application and that was after been beaten up on through the mountains and only then was it the last 30kms of the stop the pedal started to go a little soft and sink lol
  9. Oh and as for vehicles, two massive car transporters left for Australia days before the disaster so again short term stocks are ok and only ok, hat dealers have they aren’t trading with each other unless they have too or can both benefit from it lol, Hilux production is much the same as Altona not directly impacted but of course there is Japan sourced parts so there also taking measures to make sure supply lasts until they can get new stock. many of the Japanese plants have returned to production on half days as of course there is parts supply issues there and power reshining but the big T is doing alright and isn’t as badly affected as some of the other Japanese brands but certainly is day at a time stuff at the moment. Big winners out of it will be the Koreans you watch their sales go through the roof :-/
  10. Hi Steven, Have you thought of using the Camry 2006 might be for " XV30 (2001–2006)" and not the "XV40 (2006–present)" but they might fit? from here: http://www.stoptech.com/Products/HP2009.pdf Look at page 31, can be purchase from here: http://www.vsport.com.au/ecommerce/index.php?categoryID=145 here all Australian branches: http://www.vsport.com.au/contactus.php They are a 2 piece big brake kit, 332 mm x 32 mm by 4 pistons. 83.865.4600.xx is the part number. the .xx is the Caliper colour & rotor type, look at page 5 of pdf. Anyway might help you out? i would say there is a pretty good chance of those fitting without a whole lot of grief! if you consider despite the 36 series and 40 series having different architecture the suspension design give or take a few bits of bracing and different caster etc is near as make no difference (clearly different inside though of course) but it's the same base design so it could be a good option depending on cost, only other problem might be fitting the wheels back over the brakes if your still running the stock 17's? Other than that dam good find, TRD boys will be all over this although i don’t get why you would need a TRD to stop any harder than it already does i love that brake package lol
  11. Parts wise we are doing quite fine in the replacement parts area, Toyota is as we speak embarking on a change of parts system and as part of the new "taipan" system the warehouse holding capabilities has been massively increased to better service dealerships at their facing warehouse level, so in simply terms our warehouses know hold far much product lines and of course to do this they have been slightly increasing stock sizes for the last 6-12 months so we have mores stock in this country now at the moment then we ever have. so filters or crash parts will not be effected certainly in the short to medium term and TMC is still making replenishment orders to TMCA so no need to be concerned in that regard. However despite the doom and gloom reports of Altona putting 3000 personal on half days and cutting production down to 9600 or 9800 units is not because of weak Camry and Aurion sales as the media has made it out to sound but is in fact so they can sustain production at a good reasonable level whilst being savvy with the part supply they have, even though they are made here with the majority of parts sourced from Australia (unlike the "Australian" cruze there is still parts sourced from Japan particular in the power train of Aurion and Hybrid Camry. Once stock levels come back to a good level Altona will return to its operating level it was prior to the disaster. back to Cruze did you know that its local content is like 40%!!!!! That’s a very poor effort may as well continue to import from Daewoo! makes me laugh how Holden talks up the built quality advantage of them building them, yeah because Commodore is known worldwide for awesome build quality and fit and finish not to mention longevity and all... lol
  12. i really didnt think finding another set of rotors and callipers that would fit up to Aurion woudl be this hard lol :-/
  13. how much were those ? Hey Scott mate, I’m actually not sure what the RRP of these is. As you know my second job is in the music industry and all out intelligent moving lights, the Martins, ROBE and Vari-Lite* fixtures all use Phillip's or Osram lamps mostly Phillips so we’re a pretty big buyer of their products despite the lamp life hours been huge we still keep a lot of them because well we have a lot of fixtures lol so we get a good price and just like he HID's for the ZR6 they looked after me pretty well with these ones as well, and really with this type of thing you get what you pay for yes this are much more expensive than the 15 buck eBay special but the led technology is far superior there smaller brighter more direct and draw even less energy and has a longer service life. i really couldn’t go past Phillips lamps, what ROBE and Vari-lite* achieve with their technology particular vari-lite* with their XENNON lamps is amazing as if what ROBE is cranking out with Quad chip RGBW LED technology :) - nerd much haha
  14. lol rear TRD rotor size is 310mm X 18mm with PBR single piston aluminium calliper running 40.5mm diameter piston with Ferodo VS12/1 Pad Material. Front are PBR 2 Piston Aluminium calliper with 2x 40.5mm diameter pistons running Ferodo VS12/1 pad Material on 325mm x 32mm rotors V the standard setup of PBR63 Single piston cast iron calliper with 1x 63.5mm piston running NF107 pad material on 296mm x 28mm rotors.
  15. In keeping with the quality 6000k Xennon HID low beam and fog lamps on my car i once again tuned to Phillips when i was looking at DRL's i got these ones here. They use Phillips Luxeon LED Chip technology. http://www.lighting.philips.com/in_en/consumer/carlighting/1_car_lighting/products_for_car/13_drl.php?main=in_en_consumer_lighting&parent=89083467512&id=in_en_car_lighting〈=en
  16. aww yes this is true but that’s 12mm bigger everywhere lol, when we put the TRD Rotor next to the standard PBR one the difference was quite noticeable granted the TRD rotor is bigger than 320mm though. Also larger rotors tend to be around 32mm thick as well which helps but like i said a standard size rotor especially one with a good vein/vent system like kangaroo paw with multi piston calliper will yield great results especially if you use good fluid and high quality pads, have you considered braided lines? i have some for my car but haven’t fitted them yet, I’ll let you know the difference they make or don’t make (they better make a difference haha) Trying to think of some more good 4 piston callipers, i guess ones of 4wd's will be the cheapest? Prado, pajero?
  17. mm that's surprising that one for the commodores or falcons twin piston setups can’t be modded with relative ease to suit Aurion? Anyway what about some old four piston Hilux callipers? just need to be mindful of weight then, hence as to why TRD went to Aluminium callipers, even though there a much larger calliper with twin pistons they weight so much less than the standard PBR63 single piston cast iron calliper. Im sure something can be thought up though : P larger rotors would yield the best results though as the heat can be better sorted with but slotted standard size rotors with multi piston callipers will certainly make a difference too!
  18. You really can’t go that high on the sidewall with 18inch passenger car tyres, ideally the size you already have or 235/40ZR18 is really where it's at
  19. Well i did some testing over the last couple of days and can confirm that foucusnotfucus and myself are not nuts, i drove over speed humps and some surface changes at different speeds and found that going at normal speeds over speed humps and same 35-40 yields better ride comfort and control then at 25-30! guess this means that’s the damper and rebound isn’t quite yet suited to where the spring comes into play but hopefully this means the suspension is working well together when the speeds come up when you’re having some fun :P Guess also the low speed ride and compliance of the stock standard Sportivo was always criticised so 19in+ wheels don’t help this haha. Interesting none the less!
  20. mm good ppl of TOCAU who have company cars, is it worth taking up the option does it work better off in the logn run?

had a company car for 15yrs and also had my own projects tucked away in the shed for hols & weekends...i don't have a company car in my current job and boy do i miss it,i wish i could put my Aurion away and use the company car and it's rego/petrol/maitenence/tyres/wear & tear ect ect, also keeps the km's down on your car so when you sell you get top dollar :)

yeah theres good and bad sides too it, having such a nice car you want to drive it and get it out on the road but havinga company car would be good cause it means it the Zr6 could be the weekend car and wont rack up kays and eat tyres and brakes etc, i know ill get the mod bug though if i just see it sitting there, it'll become the toy, but yes ill swap cars every fortnight or what ever, hybrid camry, aurion rukus hilux fj, prado we just sort of rotate what ever is new or on demo or curen...

man to be honest its one of greatest incentives if used correctly.

I noticed that in last 6 weeks i have put $30 of fuel in my car. which means i dont rack up 400ish kms in a fortnight.

Plus you then get to turn your car into Sunday car or project car :P
