  1. MotoMan has just asked me to post this here just to make it clear that he is not antiCES as there seems to be some confusion... I beleive his words were something along the lines of Ah beaten to it....
  2. Brennden, I am pretty sure no-one on here has a problem with people posting up their thoughts about thier mods, but they have to realise that this is a discussion forum.... and there will always be people who disagree.... I think the whole "advertising" thing wasnt too bad until Corey posted and pinned the CES thread to the top of the Buy/Sell forum... now even you have to admit that is advertising.... I am in no way doubting that the CES products do make gains and that Trevor is doing a good job, but the rules are there for a reason.... Corey may have had permission from Steve to post it but as far as the rest of the forum knew he was breaking the rules :o Also I am just wondering have you also restricted Corey's posting rights... because I am pretty sure that comments like could be seen as personal attacks towards other membersOh and BTW as i mentioned in my last post you deleted your signature is still breaking the forum rules Cheers Have a good weekend everyone :D
  3. Personally I dont beleive MotoMan's topic was intentionally provocative or was created to start or continue an arguement or for personal attacks on another member. I beleive this topic was created so MotoMan could share his veiws on the Injen CAI which he owned... I mean geeezzz he even went to the trouble of getting rid of the CES logo of the CAI so it could not be associated with what he was saying, the reason he used the pic was because it was easily available and had an example of the type of rubber elbow he had described.... So I find the fact that he has been suspend from posting for providing an informative insight into the Injen CAI a bit confusing.... As I am sure alot of the other members do aswell...
  4. Dont worry Dylan, we will get Pippy out of retirement ad steal his AEM for the day ;) (waits for pippy to see thread )
  5. Yes it will work.... the way rollamods described is how we did it on my car
  6. Bump IZZ-FE has every right to be questioning the policy as quoted from Steve... As far as anyone is aware CES is not a sponsor of this forum and as you told me this morning Northy they have not payed for the privilage for their products to be advertised on the forum... You say Steve has given you the okay to put the post up so either this means Steve is contradicting his own words or the rules no longer apply... I just think IF ONE COMPANY IS ALLOWED TO HAVE THEIR PRODUCT ADVERTISED AND PINNED AT THE TOP OF THE FORUMS WHY CANT OTHERS... Now people may come on here and argue that Trevor @ CES is the only one doing the work to develop these products for the sportivo but the fact is he is still making a profit from them and with every sale from someone who see's the products advertised here this becomes commercial gain from the forum... my 2c
  7. From what i have seen and been told by Northy it is a basic copy of the TRD layout but wit a 3" pipe instead of 70mm and it has an extra bend where the pod goes on to clear the foglight... The apparent downside is the hesitation or lack of "go" when the car is cold... most likley due to the fact that the pipe is 3" and the airflow past the MAF at idle ect is not enough to make it flow true through th MAF... The US guys with the turbo spyders/celicas had the same issues... some ended up making vanes in the pipe to straighten the airflow into the MAF... others reduced the size of the pipe back to 2.75
  8. Your gains seem rather low to me.... rollamods and i fiddled with my ignition map the other weekend before the dyno day and with just adjustments of +1 and +2 in the top end i made an extra 4kw's. Keep in mind this was just us making the adjustment to the ignition map which was all zero'd out and taking if for a drive to make sure there was no knocking or pinging... originally only had my a/f map dyno tuned as my ignition timing was playing up at the time ... Has you tuner used an emanage before??? because with the mods you have listed and proper tuning i would expect at least 10kw gains. Do you have you .GSC file of you tune??? if so send it to me cause i would be very interested to have a look at the maps they have tuned...
  9. Your car already has a FPR... it is located in the pump housing in your fuel tank... The fuel system on the zze rollas is a returnless system meaning there is no return line running to the tank, and all the fuel sent to the rail gets used.... If you wish to run an aftermarket Adustable FPR you will need to modify you current fuel pump housing and remove the std FPR (may aswell upgrade your pump while you are at it I recomend a walbro 255lph GSS342 fits with little modification required and you can get one for $175 delivered to anywhere in AUS from http://www.importbitz.com.au/ ) you will also need to run a return line back to your tank to return the fuel, and you will need to either purchase an aftermarket fuel rail with the ability to run a return system, or tap a fitting into the end of your current rail to run the return from... IF you do go down this path, then with your emanage i would recomend getting both the optional ignition and injector harnesses, it will give you more flexability in the tuning... But In reality if all you are planning is to run a 55 shot and posibly clean up the a/f ratio and adjust the timing with the emanage, then there is no real need to upgrade the fuel pump, or change to and adjustable FPR.... For more info on nitrous systems with regards to the 1zz and 2zz's take a look at http://www.newcelica.org/ there are plenty of guys over there who have nitrous systems installed, all with different setups.... so you will be able to get an idea of all the choices you have.... ther is also a guide to setting one up in their installs section... Hope this helps
  10. Shao's comments were no way what so ever opinuated compared to your It was quite obvious even to the very dim that his comment was sarcastic.... You may feel like you have been given a hard time but geez what do you expect when you make comments like the one above without providing any substance to you claims.... Btw what is your deffinition of Seriuos Trackwork??? my deffinitoin of serious would be competing in some sort of cams affiliated competition or the likes... This brings me to my next question...Since you say you are doing serious trackwork I am kind of stumped as to why you would need comments from forum goers who at best would probably only get out to the track 1 every couple of months???? Shao, Pippy, northy and myself used to attend the Total Driver track days that used to be held up here at darlington park raceway... but now it has be sold they now have thier days out QR but it is mid week so work commitments overtake fun :( . So to answer your question "I think my cuscos are great.... this is talking from first hand experience from the track.... but as to comparing them, the only thing i can compare them to was my previous setup which was tei s-tech springs on stock struts.... So i am sure that someone who does "serious trackwork" would already know that comparing coilovers to a normal spring/dampner setup is like comparing apples and oranges... About the only person on this forum who i know that could possibly give u a first hand opinion of different brand coilovers in the same car is Pippy... But knowing him i doubt he would bother to reply to someone who seems to post before they think.... Have A Nice Day
  11. The quick answer is no..... Firstly the rotors wont have provision for the handbrake mechanisim that is in you current rear discs, due to the different hat height of the discs your rear track may be put out of spec, there is no real "easy" way to mount the sportivo front caliper to the rear hubs, even if you did your brake bias would be so screwed up it wouldnt be funny, Also the Aus spec (or any other that i am aware of) Sportivo was never delivered with twinspot calipers (do not beleive motor/carsguide/wheels etc. they dont know what they are talking about...) In short the rear brakes on the sportivo are more than capable of handeling anything most people will throw at it.... if you really want to improve your braking, i suggest get some decent pads, slotted rotors, braided lines (make sure they are ADR approved) and even a master cylinder brace if you really want it to firm up...
  12. depends.... search through the dyno day threads and u should find some results.... but at a guess i would say mid 70's ???

    Ciao

    " He'll be Back " ;) C ya Craig... and good luck
  15. Basically you have 2 options... 1. Keep your returnless fuel sys and drop in some bigger injectors, and hope you fuel management device can handle the adjustments, or buy a digital FMU and have that do the adjustments for the change in pressure when u hit boost. or 2. Convert to a return style fuel system, this will require either a custom made fuel rail or modifying the std rail for a return fitting, a rising rate fuel pressure regulator (i am using a sard one), a return line to your fuel tank, modifying your fuel pump housing to accomodate the larger fuel pump (i'm using a walbro) and the return line, all the other little hoses and bits and peices needed to connect it all up, and new injectors (i am using injectors from a vvti 1jzgte), And of course some sort of ecu/piggyback capable of handeling the changes in the fuel sys ( emanage all the way :P ) This will provide a much more reliable, safer and all around BETTER system for keeping the correct amount of fuel going to your engine but then of course you can run on just the std fuel system, a few of the GUYS in the US do but i think that is rather dodgey and not very safe, some of them have just dropped 2zz injectors in as they are a straight swap and will give that bit of extra fuel over the std 1zz ones, but once you start winding the boost up you will max them out pretty soon
  16. From all the different sources i have found the injectors average out to around the following 1zz's flow about 260cc/min 2zz's flow about 310-320cc/min I just received my new injectors today :D They're rated at 370cc, but flow tested at 360cc at 2.55Bar, 400cc at 3.05Bar and 440cc at 3.55Bar And according to toyota the 1ZZ runs between 43-50 psi fuel pressure which equals 3-3.4 bar So I figure they will flow about 410-420 on a std fuel system, but since i am going to be running a return stlye system we sill be able to set the fuel pressure to what ever we want with the FPR
  17. Hey Guys This has all been covered before.... click the following for more info..... CLICK ME
  18. SSSSSHHHHHHH..... we dont want everyone knowing the ultimate performance secrets :P On a more serious note talk to Danz, he has tried a few different types of plugs... I am using NGK iridium's but to be honest didnt really notice much difference...
  19. I am sure the TRD plug leads are quite good, but they will do stuff all for the 1ZZ or 2ZZ. We use 'coil on plug' ie. we dont have plug leads as our coils are built into the spark plug connector :)
  20. Another thing to check is that these rims come in the correct offset for the corolla. I assume they are 7" wide so they will need to be +45 or +43 (then you shouldnt have any problems with rubbing) :)
