  1. How many K's has it done, may be due for fluid change anyway. as for the "free reving" that is in the FAQ'S if your car has the original transmission ECU this is the problem, if you dont have any warranty left this could be exe to replace with the update ECU.
  2. booked in tomorrow for hopefully the last part of the mod, another sport muffler after the cat, and either use the 2 sport mufflers on the back, or if it turns to crap put the stock ones back on replacing the crappy tips. want it ready for the Tassie Cruise next weekend. may wait till the cruise to get video.
  3. sorry mate, not as easy as the old days before computerised cars, back to the drawing board for you. LOL
  4. at the current ECU settings even putting a large pod on it to get more air shuts the VVTI down and gets sluggish, would need some work on the ECU to perfect.
  5. Lol but there's quite a few youngin's on here driving Aurion's cheif ? that keeps us old farts interested in modding. the more the merrier.
  6. Ok fitted the other sport muffler on and same problem as before only louder. As I liked the sound that one sport muffler made, Im going to put myself out on a limb and fit one sport muffler somewhere behind the cat, retain the hotdog before the split, and straight pipes from there, with the option of small resonators if required. low on dough a the moment so not sure when this will be completed, maybe next week.
  7. In my line of work the ecconomy of the Aurion is far superior to any other vehicle, having driven Fords in the past with their poor ecconomy 12- 15 l/100km there should be no argument that the Aurion is the best.
  8. Sound clip! will do, should be up by next weekend.
  9. hi, just wondering where did u get ur transmission ecu replaced? if you still have warranty it can be replaced if you can show the flareing in the transmission, i took the local head of diagnostics to a place where i knew it would do it and he booked it in on the spot.
  10. todays latest trial, bolted one of the triple flow mufflers back on the right side leaving the other stock just to hear if it was too loud or if there was any droning. the answer to both was to my suprise NO ! it was a better quality sound, so i will replace the other one next week, see how that goes.
  11. As i have removed the resonator and running stock mufflers (for now) there has not been any loss of torque down low, naturally if you open up the exhaust too much you will lose this torque.
  12. removed resonator and no drone, has quiet note, but booting it the intake is much louder.
  13. fair call.
  14. removed the mod resonator and there was a small change in the sound, not as much as first thought. so i have the Y mod, factory cat, the hot dog just before the rear Y aand the stock mufflers.
  15. Apparently it concerns the master brake cylinder leaking on some models. Other models have problems with a plug on the fuel pump. The news say, that 1.5 million cars are affected, 740000 in the US, 600000 in Japan, the rest elsewhere. Affected models mentioned are: Lexus, Avalon, Crown (generally higher end models). I haven't read about the Aurion yet. In Short no. and it affects the MCX20 Avalon not the model that was sold here (That’s the MCX10)Although MCX20 Avalon does share some components with Aurion this recall does not affect any Australian built vehicle. Only outstanding recalls on Aurion are those i brought up the other day. Only vehicle this action will affect in Australia and at this stage is still only a field repair not a recall is MCU28 Kluger which Toyota has been investigating a slow fluid leak from the brake master cylinder on a few cars. But stay tuned for further news. thats a relief, aussie built ones done properly !
  16. Another big toyota recall, says mostly US and Japan and other markets ??? does this include Aurion in Australia ?
  17. i had mine done nearly 12 months ago and it is much better than version 1, no flareing. I still think they could improve its reaction time in sequential mode. just remember this is a learning ecu and it takes several hundred k's to learn your style of driving.
  18. welcome to the club. can you pinpoint where the sound may be coming from? how many k's has it done ? could be radio could be fuel pump. best get a mechanic to sort it out.
  19. Nice rims and looks good eith the ducktail.
  20. A day off for me and the cab show day here in hobart top weather and cold beer :)

  21. The high revs on startup is the automatic choke which helps get oil to the top of the engine, can rev up to 2k rpm and is thermally activated. it usually takes a couple of minutes to settle down. As for the seats the bottom is held on by clips ( you will have to feel under for these) the back of the seat is bolted in and harder to remove.
  22. I noticed when changing the mufflers that the stock extensions and mufflers are 1 3/4 inch and the mod ones were built 2 1/2 inch that is where the problem was with flow through the mufflers at low revs causing the deep rumble in the muffler and not out of it. going to remove the mod resonator and either just have straight through to stock mufflers or a single 2 1/2 sport muffler up front down to the stock mufflers to keep some back pressure and keep it tame.
  23. had a similar problem once. it was the negative terminal not correctly tightened onto the post, like this it would not even jumpstart, check those and see how you go.
  24. bloody cold in Hobart today, wont stop the beerflow !

  25. I haven't heard of any problems in hobart, but this subject has got me thinking that it would be a good idea to lock it. the only problem with that is its illegal to do so with passengers on board.
