  1. Does anyone own a MR2 here with the first LETTERS TRD on the plates? Also, does anyone own an Aurion with the first LETTERS HAQ(Custom plates, black rims)?
  2. Thanks for the feedback, -Meguiar's ScratchX, I won't be using this because this stuff is for spot use, my car doesn't have big scratches that I need to be using this to spot remove them but is a good addition if some people have designated scratches. -Autoglym Glass/Window Polish, this stuff actually sounds pretty good. I forgot to treat windows! Guess rainX would be just as good :)
  3. Here you go, this is when I want to do the ultimate detail for my car. All products are also used in order of the links. 4. i use the w8006 yellow polishing pad with swirlx/ ultimate compound/ m205 for the nxt 2.0 i use the w9007 finishing pad... but i alternate between that and my mothers wax attack (which i think spreads the wax a bit better) after you apply the wax with the machine, alloy it to set and remove with a microfibre cloth. i dont buff the product off with the machine... :P hope tha helps Cool man! That really does help. I'm keeping notes of all this stuff. Makes life much easier :) I'll be hopefully getting the G220 with the W8006 for the SwirlX and W9207 for the Wax 2.0 This machine should literally half my time detailing in half!
  5. Thanks man, appreciate it :) shin0bi, I've been living in the broady area for almost 5 years and I have never seen your car. I always come across the same Skyline's etc and the muzza's in there hotted up two door's. They are hard to forgot. edit: If I come on a meet up just be prepared to look at a stocky Aurion. My only mod's in the near(hint) future would be a system.
  6. yeah me too, wasn't until i looked at the car a few washes later and saw them, argh!!! next meet, we go to jet wash boyz =D Hey mate, I heard a really scary story about these jet wash ones. Since the water is recycled, apparently some jet wash machines do not filter the water properly and pounds your car with microscopic bits of dust causing ever more scratches. Just a heads up, not sure if its true or not but sounds plausible.
  7. That's one dodgy way to do it. Doesn't look very neat though. If you were to go that approach, pick up some weather seal similar to this, and wedge it in there: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/296734765/window_rubber.html This is what I did in my old Camry when the velcro/adhesive wore off on the dash mat and I needed a way to hold it in place. Hmmm, thats interesting, how would I place that where the cloth is? Just one long strip wedged into the whole way through the dash?
  8. Few questions that hopefully can be answered :): and1, how much is postage usually on that site? davo, with the G220, which pads should I use when I apply swirlX THEN nxt gen liquid wax 2.0? After buffing, do I have to wipe off the excess by hand using the micro fibre cloths? DJK, do you use a buffer or everything by hand? Also did you take any pictures of the car when clean or did the rain spoil her? :(. Would love to see a fellow silver Aurion sparkle :) DJK, I feel the same with cleaning the car now. Mine is a daily with family also coming in and out of the car. One day I'll do a full detail and next day knowing Melbournes crappy weather the heavens will open up on the car at the worst times. I just sometimes think, a good wash every now and then is fine because all the work will be worthless once I sell the car only for some other guy to look after it no where near as good as I did!
  9. You guys might not like me saying this. But why not just get a different car with the kind of specs you are after, OP?
  10. shinobis from broady area :D Cool! More from here the better :P
  11. Well well well, I found a DODGY solution to this problem. http://img710.imageshack.us/img710/1852/photo2jj.jpg http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/9109/photoroh.jpg I folded up this cloth(It's kind of like chucks wipes) and made it thick enough so it fits in tight. Then I wedged it in between the crack.(That sounds so rude ) This has caused the dash to tighten up and also not touch the front window. The squeaking and cracking has disappeared 99%.
  12. Got another bottle of Fuel doctor, got my first ever bottle of Meguiers SwirlX and Applicator pads. Will be using them soonish. I haven't washed the car in a while. It keeps raining in Melbourne :(. BOM predicts wet weather for the next week and its way too cold even during the day to wash the car without hands getting frost bite. lol. Sucks big time.
  13. It seems like everyone is from the other side of Melbourne from me. Why can't it ever be around the broady area :P
  14. IMO, way too early. Don't fuss over a car so much like that. Wait until you have done over 100,000K before anything like that. At the moment I put in the Fuel Doctor, lets see how that goes.
  15. My first car was a 97 Camry (4CYL SLUG) but damn was she fun to mod. It was so easy to pull things apart in that. I wish I never had to sell it. But it was so low you could walk faster then it. I don't think there was one thing NOT replaced in it from suspension to steering rack to engine to lights, paint job etc. List goes on. I bought it for $2000 from a family friend and spent a good $3000 fixing it Now I'm cruising in a comfy leather seated Aurion :P
  16. I remember when the weather was hitting the 40's in summer here in Melbourne. I had to park out in the sun and when driving along, the whole Aurion was squeaking and making funny noises. The plastics did not like it. One really weird one was the front window on the drivers side(Top right) was squeaking like mad. But after that day when the weather cooled down I never ever got that noise again.
  17. Hi mate, I have the same problem. Check this out: http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=27042
  18. Thats interesting as the directions on the can say this, 1.Detach the glovebox, the filter case and the cabin air filter. 2.Mask the electric wiring near the blower fan with vinyl etc. 3. Spray the ENTIRE quanity of the chemicals towards the evaporator side. 4. Reattach disassembled parts after drying, changding to a new cabin air filter is recomended. It doesnt say it in the instructions but obviously you need to be running your aircon system so that it goes through your entire A/C system. FEATURES: Removes unpleasent air conditioner odors/long term deodorization/prevents bacteria, fungus and algae. Thanks for this :)
  19. What are the benefits of the silver membership?
  20. This would be moisture in the air heating up on the heater unit then turning into steam. This moisture reacts with bacteria that is on the evaporator for the A/C which the air passes through to produce that bad smell. That doesn't just chemically mask the smell. It contains other chemicals that actually kill the bacteria that gathers on the evaporator. With the bacteria killed off, it won't produce the smell anymore. I hope so! I just wonder why/how such a bad smell can come from it. My dads old Toyota van, he smokes, farts, carries chemicals etc in that car with aircon running or heater running when ever where ever(complete work horse) and never have we had a problem with smell coming from its aircon system or heater system. If I were to swap from aircon to heater straight away there is no condensation and no smell what so ever! Though if I were to run my aircon on the aurion for couple of minutes then swap to heater it would smell like rotten eggs.
  21. We found within work vehicles that we noticed the change after the first tank of fuel so near as makes no difference to 600kms, any major change before then would be the placebo effect. i'm thinking the difference would be more noticeable in a diesel hilux or the like more so than a car with the 2GR-fe engine as it's always a smooth idler/engine. But you should notice some difference after a tank or so. Djkor's post is pretty much on the money here, you don’t need to wait quite so long but that's pretty much the story though. Might be a worthwhile thing to do every time you change your cabin filter, save you having to take it out twice. I will copy the directions of the can and post them up tomorrow :) If you could post up the directions etc that would be awesome mate. Thanks! I really really really need one of these.
  22. Adamsy , what does this aircon cleaner look like and how do we use it? Where do we apply it?
  23. To answer some questions, The steam comes from the air vents, there is no condensation in the windows in the morning (I keep my window open a little bit every time and the car is garaged), sometimes I drive with recirc on with heater on and when its the aircon. I tried where people say 5/10 minutes before you stop the car, turn on fresh so it can dry up the vents(when using aircon). This doesn't seem to do anything. Other questions like blocked system and leak into the system I don't know. Even after 20 minutes of heater last night the smell and "dampness" from the heater did not go away. But eventually did. When I picked up my car from the dealer yesterday and went to turn the heater on the aircon was on(Dealer must have used it). I seriously wish they didn't. I couldn't drive without having my window open halfway without the smell making me want to puke. The best way to describe the smell is like the hot air filters through a WET, dirty, bacteria filled sponge that has never been washed, and the hot air is filtering through that. Yuck! I think its time I take it to the dealer again, I wish I told them about it when I dropped it off yesterday. I see this: http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=27315&view=findpost&p=389350 And that there is an aircon cleaner. But is there anything to physically clean internal parts of the aircon to give it a deep clean instead of chemicals that will mask the smell? For 66 dollars, I might as well get the dealer to to do aircon clean for like $90. Or maybe it is something more serious and I can claim some sort of warranty. haha.
