  1. Red Sportivo parked at Sorrento on Saturday Silver Sportivo parked on Lawrence rd Mt Waverley
  2. Does the stroked engine have a reduced redline ?
  3. Easiest way is to leave the car in the sun for a while, and then slowly peel it off with your fingers, If you're careful, you can take it off in one piece and keep it, if you decide to change your mind and put it back again later.
  4. A few of us Melbourne boys have made our own flyers, we've got an A4 sheet with a pic of the biggest melbourne meet we had ( The one in the Gallery with all the cars lined up in a semi circle outside toyota hq ) and the URL for the forum typed on the bottom. We just leave it on people's windscreens.
  5. Does your insurance cover you for incidents on a track? or do you get track insurance for the day?
  6. How did you get track time at Calder Sport1vo ?
  7. It was good to catch up with you all. I thought it was amusing we all went to so much effort to clean our cars Eddy - There'll be many more opportunities to catch up with everyone Have a Good Christmas all - Drive Safe.
  8. About $200... That's pretty good, I've been told an original set are about $480
  9. A $10k premium isn't too bad. The Blitz s/c kit for the 1ZZ is $5,600. If Toyota is building a Supercharged Sportivo, the additional $10K would also go towards bigger brakes, better tyres and suspension. Taking all that into account it's not too bad. But there's alot of other good options out there in the $40k price range. Just depends personal preference.
  10. By the look of it - You've got the Japanese spec exhaust set up, so you're at an advantage to us because you'll have a much broader set of options.
  11. What work was carried out? Was the carb reconditioned?
  12. Thanks for your help too E-gene - I know I ask alot of questions! How do I keep my car so clean... Well I always wipe down the engine bay with chamous whenever I wash the car, I also hose down the undercarage with high pressure - especially when I've been on a dusty or gravel road - I know It's almost obsessive ! Plus, I mostly catch public transport during the week - so I drive it mostly on Weekends. Skitzo/Cougs - I got them from Typhoon Motorsports - Thornton Cres, Mitcham VIC, Kcorro introduced me to them (www.tomsracing.com.au). Shipping from o/s took a month. Front Strut Brace was $330 ( The C-One unit is cheaper, just as good if not better and looks quite cool - polished alloy ) - I wanted the TRD because it is finished in the Gunmetal. Rear Stabiliser was $200 These may change with exchange rates, so Just speak to Eric and Scott. Fitting was an additional $75, Although If you have a trolly jack and stands you can do it yourself - biggest challenge is to undo the bolts holding the stabiliser - Very tight. Let them know you're from the Forum, they might be able to do a little better. Buddha - The Remus was $850, not cheap. In terms of sound, at Idle and cruising it's close to standard - Just deeper and throatier, Only when you sink the clog does sound louder, but again not too loud just throatier and meaner. It doesn't drone. In terms of performance - It's increased mid-range torque (2000-4500 rpm). You notice it when you short shift and the car easily pulls in higher gears. Eg, You can cruise at 60km/h in 5th and easily gain speed when accelerating.
  13. This week I had my TRD front strut tower bar and rear stabiliser bar fitted, I had a little problem with the rear stabiliser at first ( It wasn't tightened enough and moving around under load-sounded shocking!) but now it's all good. The car now corners flatter, turns in sharper and just feels so much more planted and safer whilst going through curves. Gone is the nervous twitchiness and pronounced body roll it had before - understeer is reduced. I'm running on standard Ascent/Conquest/Levin dampers - So I'm certain that it should feel even better with the stiffer Sportivo units. For those who love the twisties - I highly recommend this as the next upgrade after your springs, whether you choose TRD, Whiteline or C-One (Strut Brace). Here's the pics.
  14. Yes, you shouldn't have to change the Cat. Don't go with the first outfit you speak to, do alot of research, like Silverbullet said, fit the wrong set up, and you actually go backwards with outputs. A loud system doesn't actually mean it's effective.
  15. Ok, so on Sunday we are expecting to see... TRD_141 - Black Sportivo Lucio Libre - Black Sportivo IZZ-FE - Silver Corolla (maybe) Ilivfor6 - Blue RX-8 (Just fitted out with new exhaust so we'll hear you coming!) E-Gene - White Sportivo Pecker - Black Sportivo Eddy Torrez - Red Sportivo (maybe) Peekay - ? It's 11.00am at Toyota HQ - Bertie St Port Melbourne (Melway 43 a11)
  16. Too funny... Lucio I thought I was the forum clown
  17. Cossie the Corolla, I also have Connie the Commodore
  18. I'm not sure if my car will make it now - problems
  19. AAMI are fine with mods as long as you're over 25, if you're under 25 you can't even have the car lowered.
  20. On the road I paid $24,400 in 03, with Drilled Pedals, Tinted Windows and Sports Springs. I think prices have gone up $200.
