  1. Wow that's a very thirsty car. Fill her up completely this time and next time and work out your fuel consumption from that. It could be a broken fuel sensor or gauge.
  2. Hey I saw him there too! But didnt see you though. (I was at bunnings)
  3. Lol make sure you drive sedately in there. Dont want any po po attention. But in saying that, they probably wouldnt even notice the s/c there. Watch your fuel gauge drop rapidly as the whine addiction occurs :P Yup power band is a straight line up all the way to fuel cut, doesnt plateau out at high rpm. And torque is 1 flat straight line :)
  4. Come on UPDATE!! On second note, where are we cruising to tomorrow? :P I know you want to drive somewhere :P And yes Dave was cussing a lot at the little bubbles coming from the clutch bleeder.
  5. I got my lights from them and yes it would use the parker lights as the ccfl. So the ccfl is the parker light so you will need to turn you parker lights on to make them work. Their lights are made for american road so they will have the wrong cut off and not adr approved like the way mine came. And it'll probably be easier to read if you write the questions out, 1 at a time on a separate line.
  6. Kick panels if your tweeters arent big. This is because it gives the most evenly distance location between left and right. :)
  7. Thought of this on the way home. Haven't been up there for a while but would Griffith Uni be a good place for a "bright/dark desserted spot" for shooting?
  8. There are 3 sorts of lights. Fog lights (little things at the bottom of the front bar) : These are used for foggy conditions. They cut through under the fog immediately in front of the car. ie they DONT increase the distance you see when used with your normal low beams. This is why you will see more of everything a few metres around the front. Driving lights (like the big ones on 4wds): Are used to supplement highbeams - only on when high beams are on. They increases the range you can see. They will blind everyone around you. Daytime running lights (audi/merc led strips on the front) : These DONT help you see further either. They let other people see YOU better. These are allowed to be on all the time regardless of weather condition. So if you are on a freeway at night, turning on your foggies will allow you to see more directly in front of the car but will actually make you see less distance because your eyes has to adjust to the brightness up close. Eg an extreme example. Drive down the highway with just your low beams. Now turn on your interior light. You will now see LESS distance even though you haven't changed anything to your low beams. In QLD you can be fined for using your foglights as DRLs. But the fine is a piddly $30-50 and 0 points. Hence why so many people still drive with them on.
  9. It isnt that much to get a custom y pipe made up. Mine was $220 which is actually less than the price to replace the stock cat with a high flow metal cat. While mine is the properly tuned to the same length, it is still better than what the stock setup is.
  10. Saw a nice yellow GT4 today at Rocklea this morning. 90T66 <- i think that was the plates. Was trying to read it backwards in the rear view mirror.
  11. Yup. Awesome place to meet up, and car wash. You also get to see every "fast" car hoon it up the street. And Darryl you drive like me in tunnels :P !!!
  12. can we have the address for the car wash please. I wont be there at 8 since i finish work at 8 lol.
  13. So do we bring stuff eg buckets and what not to the meet or do we just head out there?
  14. Yup! I know where you work now! :P Waited 30-40mins in line but had an awesome chat with a couple of people behind me about their dogs :P
  15. I'll be out this Thursday and the car needs a wash quite badly even though i only washed it 2 weeks ago. :( It ALWAYS rains the next few days after i wash the car :( .
  16. If anyone has one, let me know :) I'm in Brissy but shipping wont be too much. Anthony
  17. I'm always there, just probably on the side street. I only park in the carpark if the side street is full even though i'm not suppose to. :P
  18. New ECU from toyota for my v6 is $2200. I'm going to assume it would be very similar. Wreckers would be the way to go.
  19. Molding will be very very expensive as they will have to firstly make the mold and then using the mold to make your covers. I was thinking of getting them to cut a circle out where the projectors will go (making it bigger tho) and then getting them to weld in a clear piece in that spot. The light beam coming from the projector won't be very big at that point so its do-able. And I have seen cars with such setup from stock. Pricewise for this, I wouldn't have a clue though. As a guide, i got my front lip plastic welded together after it smashed into 10+ pieces and it costed me $150.
  20. yea 550 on half a tank is really not quite impossible at all. if i can achieve 350km on 3/4full, then 550 on half is perfect. u guys must drive it 2 the red line most of the time? I do drive to the red line at times but not all the time. On the long cruises with lots of highway, I can ge about 10.xL/100km. With normal driving though, it's usually at about 11-12L/100km.
  21. There are F1 influences with the wing. And I'd sell my car for it!!
  22. My car is a 1999 V6 Vienta and I always use V/Power, mainly cause my wife shops at Coles and I enjoy the 4c discount. It would appear that its six of one and half a dozen of the other when it comes to brand names. However, I have been advised that V/Power and I believe other high octane brands use beneficial additives in their top product, plus there is, according to tests that I have read (providing I don't go swapping and changing every time I fill up the ECU will adjust to the new conditions) resulting in an increase of 4kilowats of power and I think it was 5nts of torque. Without the proper equipment to do a meaningful check those figures must represent an improvement in both performance and economy. As they say use the best and forget the rest!!!! If it makes you happy, use it . :P I don't have a choice, its a 98 only car now, or else kaboom! :P But it just shows that although there is only a 1 or 2 refineries that we get all our fuels here in brissy, its different even with the same octane reading.
  23. I religiously use from BP ultimate or Mobil syn8000. Caltex Vortex gold makes my car hesitate quite badly with WOT. 550km with half a tank!!!!!! I'd be lucky if I can get near that with a full tank!
