Wont start again.. surprise. Can any diesel experts out there suggest a test for the glow plugs? Or should a diesel start eventually without them working? I was under the impression that glow plugs were for cold starts, I know on some hot days I'd just turn the key absent mindedly without waiting for the glow plug light to go out and it starts straight away. Since the car is at home, Im trying to work out the problem myself first, before a costly callout visit from an electrician. I guess something has to go wrong after 400,000kms..

Have a look on the actual engine for the type it is.. something R.. or in the engine bay... or google it.. forget about reconditioning a motor that old and worn out imo... if it was me I'd try all the jap import places for a suitable running replacement engine.. lots of phone calls for you...You will need a lot of equipment to get the engine out Im guessing, a big job. good luck with that.. will be fun when its going though.

I'm wondering the same thing myself, but mines a '93 with 2.8D, much less powerful than yours, and its a 21ft Caravan, I dont think it can do it, uphills or an incline it will struggle.. What length Caravan is yours?

Well today I went out.. like the last couple of days.. and tried to start it.. I waited just a little longer after the glow plug light went out before trying starting it, and it coughed to life.. I am a happy hilux owner once again. :)

Isn't it about time you gave up on that super charger and just went for a GT4? :P lol

So I parked my Hilux the other day like always... next day... wont start... motor just turns over without even a hint of starting. What could be going on here? Fuel pump? I already had the seals replaced a while back and its not leaking. Any ideas?

Pay a mechanic with all the right tools.. its a difficult job without them. :)

Yeah.. the coast road is windy which is fun, but not when you get stuck behind a caravan for too long. I will meet you guys at Canberra then. I assume everyone has UHF radio too, so if someone texts me when you get close I can catch you all at the on ramp to Hume Hwy. Thanks

Had that problem myself.. I had the electrician completely remove the octopus of cabling and went without it in my Corolla.. I had a rhino immboliser installed this year in gt4, cost me $400 all up.. I didnt bother with siren or alarm trip set to doors.. as long as they cant start the car I'm happy.

The issue with most top-floor carparks (apart from a lot of them not being open at the right time) is that you have to get to the roof first - the Macquarie Centre is a prime example of tight ramps, sharp corners and huge bodykit-ripping speed bumps. And then if you're planning to go anywhere as a group afterwards, you have to filter back down these same ramps in a group about as fast as a geriatric snail would choose a retirement village.... Why does that scene from Need for Speed come to mind :P It's not that we can't find spots , it's finding spots that arn't already know as hoon spots. (most car parks etc around are patroled) i did find what i thought could be a possible candidate @ tempe. Behind Harry De Wheels is a well lit car park thats open till 11. theres 2 or 3 area's we could use. Again close to food, no housing, and with pretty decent lighting and airport lights for backdrops. I'll keep looking but i'm still happy to stick with greenacre for now. I swear on my GT4 registration paper.. I did not know that movie was going on to be on that night after suggesting it... complete fluke. When I saw it on that night I thought.. sh*t they are going to give me hell now.. lmao Anyway... if we dont have all those hot chicks dancing around then we arent going to attract too much attention.. :) I just started thinking about a carpark and food and where better than the top of a... ohhhh forget it. :D Whatever you guys decide.. I can't believe that in the biggest city in Australia we cant find a meet place that isnt a maccas car park.. I think its great some of you agree and are looking... A thought just occured to me... what about the very top floor of a Westfields parking lot? I only know Miranda Fair well.. but a place like that at night time after peek would be pretty quiet unless Im mistaken, only movie goers.. and there is lots of food choices.. and the background view of the city is awesome, depending on location of course.. and 20+ cars heading down the spiral of levels all together after the meet would be cool IMO.. :) Still waiting for coilovers.. 7 weeks and counting.. the reason I haven't showed to a meet. As soon as they are fitted I'm there...

Oh man.. I haven't laughed so hard in ages.. :D all those different s**t people say videos are damn hilarious!
