  1. Mine are in... took as about 4-5 hours with fumbling around a but for the right tools and Mario and Jase wiring Mario's amp at the same time. Had a fun day :) A bit of noise coming from the rear (rattles) will check it out tomorrow and tighen everything up a bit I think. Bit had a run down Mount Keira on the way homd and it has sooooo much gri-p and very little roll. I've not even got a strut brace or my TRD rear swaybar in yet :D cant wait :)
  2. I was using Fuchs and now have gone to Castrol...
  3. I think we all need to calm down a bit... PRODRIVE are a UK based company involved with all levels of motorsport. Associated teams are... Subaru WRC FPR - V8Supercar team and PRODRIVE F1 to begin taking part in F1 from 2008 this deal could mean anything from them wanting to help out team TRD in Australia now Subaru no longer have a factory team, so no conflict of interest, to them looking at taking over the technical side of Toyota F! as has be rumoured in the passed that Toyota would like to reduce their expendature, but still be an engine supplier for the team. Prodrive was also associated with BAR (Honda) in their early days of F1. V8 Supercars are small fry to them.
  4. or do what I suggested and just delete the off topic post all together... It doesn't need to be there... why keep it there, it's just taking up space.
  5. I saw it at Supercheap last time I was in there, they can also order it for you if it's not in stock
  6. even if this was the case, the 2 dynos would still have slightly different calibrations. Every instrument is different in some way, that's why you cannot compare one reading with another with 100% accuracy.
  7. he's right though Bill... Mechanically it can't because the gear ratios are just slightly low in 2nd, but physically, we are able due to slipping the clutch too keep revs up :)
  8. I agree Bill, it is the meet threads where most of my ire lay.
  9. or you can just buy the oil spray for $12 and follow the instruction on how to clean the filter. You can use normal dish washing detergent if you want, you just need something that cuts through the grease. Massage it in well then wash it off and remember to back flush the filter ;) let it dry completely before oiling it though. Danthyer wrote up a very good how to guide... take a look :)
  10. this is all preparation for them heading out to WSID next week and the Qld people to Willowbank on the weekend after ;) but what Lucio says is ideal for the street :)
  11. I've had shifts 1-2 where the needle has not dropped below 7000rpm, you just need to use the clutch a little. The best way I have found to stay in lift with minimal clutch is to drive 1st to as close to the rev limitter as you can, but don't hit it (just beyond 8000rpm), clutch in,lift the accelerator, snap the lever into 2nd, press the accelerator to raise revs to ~6000rpm, clutch out to the friction point (do not drop it as the car will baulk a little), plant the right boot and lift off the rest of the way. :) keep doing that and you'll be running in the 14s in no time :D
  12. I ride it slightly, but it's pretty much a straight drop. You just need a feel for the cars friction point and give a small hesitation there and plant the right boot at the same time :D
  13. yep the TRD one gets oiled the same. I looked into the ITG filter for a while but in the end it was too much effort and cost for not much gain. I may look at it again soon though... no must resist spending more money on my car
  14. I am in agreeance with Brian and Will... I drop at 5000-5500, still going hard on the stock clutch :D
  15. I think the rubber just pulls out. It doesn't seem to be bolted in there. I've noticed that it raises a little when I clean it with just a small amount of force. Practice on one of the wrecks 1st though Mick to see just how it's done... no point trying on your car and really breaking something.
  16. that's that i've just put into my car Pete... feels a lot better then the Fuchs stuff I had in there before. I was going to get Royal Purple, but decided against it as it is not as easilly available and pretty costly. but the Castrol Edge 5-30 (the one I used) is pretty good and cost me $50 from supercheap.
  17. that's cool Jason, I agree with you too. What I would like to happen though, as outlined in the opening post of this is for the Moderators to have a system when if they see a useless/off topic post in a thread... delete it... simple as that. keeps things smooth and keeps the forum nice and organised.
  18. I don't understand that comment one bit as almost all of the main post whores are silver members anyway. It's got nothing to do with over inflated post counts and everything to do with unnecessary comments in other peoples threads the 2 main examples are: 1. off topic discussion in for sale threads 2. chit chat in cruise threads... say you are going to be there, if not, either don't post or say briefly why... do not spend 10 pages trying to push a person to a meet they simply cannot get to. There are others but these are the most common. It has nothing to do with inflated post counts, I see nothing wring with that, as long as the whoring is kept to specific topics. What it does have to do with the forum management and tidyness. When people are trying to follow a topic that have an interest in it is frustrating when others but in adding no value to the discusson. As Shao pointed out, it is exactly the same as butting in on a personal converstion for no important reason and is quite rude. It is something that has actually died down since the issue was raised and things have improved a lot, just in the last few weeks. The month before that things were getting out of hand though. I'm just disappointed that I didn't raise this earlier as I may have had more people vote for me as mod :P EDIT: sorry Jason I missread the context of the silver members bit... I understand now and fully agree. but we also have the Silver Members whore area remember where we have payed for the right to earn post count from whore topics :P ;)
  19. if they do it would most likely be a chassis brace that goes as the base of the rear seat, connecting the strut tops properly.
  20. they do, I'm not sure if they do for the corolla hatch though.
  21. that's what I was looking at ;) :D
  22. I wanted Portugal to win... oh well... I guess I'll support Italy then... then we can say how close we really came to winning, or will that hurt more?
  23. just trying something out... I'll leave you all alone again soon :P
