  1. Hi all Just read this atricle on the cover of Best Car Buys regarding sales figures on the Corolla. A record breaking month in May for Corolla has seen it jump ahead of the Mazda 3 in the Qld small passenger segment. Year to date Corolla has sold 3375 vehicles, with 809 of those sold in May. A production shortage in January and February slowed sales but it's now selling as well as it ever has. The Corolla range has 18 models, with the choice of 3 body styles, 2 transmissions and 4 equipment upgrades. There are 7 hatchback Seca models,5 sedan models and 6 wagon models. All models share a 100kw VVTI- equipped 1.8 litre engine. Standard equipment across the Corolla range includes: drivers SRS airbag, front seatbelt pretensioners, driver's seatbelt force limiter, 3 rear seat height adjustable head restraints, four wheel disc brakes, tilt adjustable power steering, power mirrors, central locking, rear door electric lock(sedan and wagon), Driver's seat height adjust,60/40 split fold rear seat( with seat recline and fold down on hatch and wagon), CD player, front map lamps, a separate digital clock, windscreen mist function,55 litre fuel tank, Wagon tonneau cover, and an integrated engine immoboliser. Sounds great but not a single mention of the Sportivo??MMM... Toyota still wont market the Sportivo properly or even give the option of the "hot hatch" as say Holden would with the Astra turbo etc etc. I reckon, if marketed properly the Sportivo could and probably would outsell any of the other manufacturers "equivalents". But then again, let just keep the potential of the Stivo as our "little secret" B) Then the element of surprise is exactly that... ask the Rex & R32 skyline I had a run with the other night what they thought :D
  2. Depends on who you talk to but as far as i'm aware it's the only system made in Australia for the Sportivo with hp gains. Do a search and enjoy reading!
  3. Not a bad brand at all. Good quality and performance wise. Rally car I sponsor run them for 2 seasons no dramas at all. Only replaced them due to end for ending the car 3 times. Car very bent and struts ever so bent as well. :(
  4. You definatley can't hear the CAI and for that matter at full throttle you can't much at all apart from the ring in your ears!! when you hit lift the revs do climb quicker and the acceleration is a lot crisper as well. Felt it first hand for about 3 laps before somebody decided that it was time to wash their car. :P
  5. That's ok we'll play tackle- Me, Northy, Azza and Russ versus the weeds...oh you can have G money so you got some size ;)
  6. Northy has lovell's super low's on his ascent. Yes it's friggen low ;)
  7. They don't rev to 8000rpm. About 7500 is the limit from my memory but I could be wrong.(I'm not getting any younger you know!!!)
  8. First run I had in my stivo was against an N15 SSS. gave him a half length head start then went staight up on him in first, hit 2nd and pulled a length and a half by the time I had peaked 2nd gear. My Stivo was stock and the SSS had headers, exhaust and intake mods. I know this cause he lives about 4 doors up from a mate of mine. So I regularly visit him and always give the stivo a bit as I go past his house just to jog his memory.
  9. Sell your car privately. Dealers will give you nothing for it. I inquired about a trade up to a new model Stivo and they said they would give me 18-19 for my stivo with all mods intact. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...wtopic=2264&hl= that's my thoughts on the new Stivo. :D
  10. Do I hear another dyno day where everybody runs an ethanol blend fuel not just the "Bellbowrie Bogans"??????
  11. Run some upper cylinder lube in with your fuel otherwise you will suffer with valve seat recession or worse they'll come loose in the head or you could eventually drop a valve and do some serious damage.
  12. Spotted a black 05 Stivo with chrome wheels on the M1 heading north at Helensvale at 5.15pm. Turned off at Movieworld. Pretty sure you saw me following you!!
  13. I noticed that the car looks like it handles better with the bloke with the red shirt on compared to the other fat bloke. In that pic it looks like the struts on the passenger side have given up all together. :P
  14. And so begins another Thursday night parts fitting session at our Milton workshop :P
  15. Love that last comment Blue stivo absolutely priceless and also a good pun on MAP81's behalf. As Pippy has stated till you've been on a track you don't qualify to comment on this incident and bag somebody's driving if you've never done it yourself cause it ain't as easy as it looks ;)
  16. I'll be there big russ with your strut brace. Patience my big friend.... patience :P
  17. I guess this dyno day will put an end to the SP23 vs Sportivo rivalry over who's car is better. Think that the results could be a little surprising( for mazda owners anyway B) )
  18. David has also done up some Grounding wire kits for the corolla of which danthuyer, northy and myself have already fitted to our cars. Quality number 1 and show a high level of professionalism. Pictures will soon be available of the kits in a variety of wire colours and terminal colours as well. PM me for more info.
  19. Speaking of getting hooked I think that you should speak to MAP81 as he was the only one who went fishing!!! :P Man when he says he going fishing he goes all the way Yeah I reckon that there will be a few more at the next track day. Include Azza only if he's been a good boy and done all his chores to get his pocket money
