  1. I did weddings and formals with my Sportivo while I owned it. Something different compared to the amount of limo's that take kids to formals. Last one i did before I sold my car was pretty kool. The formal was just down from a cross roads that i came out of. So it was pull out and turn then hit lift 1st and land 2nd(for those who can do it) then back off. We had the attention of everyone there by then and then I drove slowly into the drop off area and got out and let the kid i knew and his partner out. All he wanted to do was get his mates to look at my engine bay!!! Contact one of the mods in your state as they will know who has car that is visually appealing for what you want to do.
  2. Poor dyno didn't get a chance to spin the wheels off the beep beep!! So what cars did rollamods,map81 and Pippy have??
  3. Ahh nice to see someone cleaning under their car.. and it's a silver 03 model as well. Prolly the pick of the models and colours....sniff sniff....
  4. Spotted a red facelift sportivo lowered with aftermarket rims etc and a fart canon yesterday on Logan Rd heading into town. Spotted Scott(sportivo05?) this arvo. I followed you along Handford rd then Telegraph rd into Denham st and then up Barrett St.
  5. Any results from the TOCAU members who went??? Who did what with what mods??? C/mon spill the beans!!!
  6. Ohh Ohhh Count me in lol. I put 800kg of tiles for my new bathroom in the back of my Hilux this arvo and the thing goes nearly the same LOL. Last weekend i loaded up all my camping gear then put the camper trailer on the back and away we went. Did it rather easily to be honest and the performance loss is really not that much when you don't have much to start with LOL I also took it for it's shakedown run in the stae forest and climbed some nice snotty hills and got it dirty. Videos to come soon... Nice kluger Mish. I also prefer that shape as well.
  7. Put some CES goodness on your car and you don't have to worry about landing lift cause it makes that much more power then take it to RBT Motorsport for the finishing touches to make it a show winner or if you don't mind a dirty car then take it to Kebab Performance. but if you like Ice cream then PP is the place for you.... Sorry guys but this thread is just getting waaaay to boring and pointless. 1-2 shift in lift is doable my some people with driving skill. some Sportivo's won't allow it cause of gearbox/clutch issues. been there and done that......... end of story.
  8. thanks moderator Present company excluded LOL. you just drive like a madman.........
  9. Front end needs some work. Looks too round and fat.
  10. If i got $10 for every Cooper S I have beaten then I'd have $50!! Off the line they have a slight advantage but once your in lift it each gear change you pull away. As for on the move I know which car is waaaaay quicker from 120 -200 I have driven a works edition and it was very nice to drive but at 60 odd k it would want to be. I remember doing a night run once with some cars from another forum and one was a works edition and he thought his poo didn't stink. Well a sportivo with cusco's(Northy) and myself(koni's,kings, whiteline bars) showed him up quite nicely. i was in fron and Northy was behind and he crossed the centre line and got all out of shape on a few occasions. He told a mate that we were too slow and this and that then we told him that weren't pushing it hard due to a very dirty road covered in leaves and sticks etc. Anyway my point is that a Works edition is a fast car and it takes a nicely modded Sportivo to keep with one. As for a Cooper S an average modded Sportivo will do one and a stock sportivo with a good driver could and may beat one as well. A good driver in a Mini may do the same but most of them are either rich girlys trying to attract attention, hairdressers from the top end of town or guys in nerdy professions trying to look sporty. Most of these people can't drive fast or have never been to a race track and proly never will.
  11. Here's a lil video I took from the Vw Warwick drag weekend 2 weeks ago... 2.4L N/A FTW!!
  12. Black sportivo and looked like it might have been pre faclift with stock rims.
  13. Exactly what I thought when i saw it. There's a pretty good chance it could have been someone from here. Something my wife even picked up on to my surprise. Fingers crossed it wasn't a TOCAU member.....
  14. Want to look at an ugly car??? Go have a look at the new Lancer. Front end is down right rude I tell you. Feral and just a design abortion. Horrid!!!
  15. Apologies to those who turned up as I fell asleep on the lounge and then woke up about 9pm. Work has been full on as well as trying to build my brothers car and renovate my house at the same time. Sleep time is precious at the moment LOL
  16. so who is out tonite???? I may be if that excites you all LOL
  17. Dude i have just read about 6 or so people telling you it isn't loud but you still ask the same question??? The system is not loud as it passes the noise levels set by RTA/transport dept. the difference between it and a stock system is that you can just hear the exhaust note when you put your foot down. It isn't loud nor drony or annoying for that matter. I had one on my car for 3 odd years before I sold it and that car was my wife's daily driver to and from work in peak hour traffic. she never complained about about it being noisy or annoying her. If your girlfriend is that paranoid about your car making noise then buy her some earplugs/ride a push bike or don't mod your car.... Then again you could always just do it and buy her some harden up pills
  18. I cannot believe this thread is still going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Having driven both cars in stock and modded form the Sportivo will win eventually... maybe not over the first 50m but a race isn't won in the 1st 50 it's won when you cross the line in front of the other bloke. Far too many variances and the difference in the skill of the driver weighs far too much. So a sportivo gives the Commodore @ 400kg more weight. BUT they also get 2L more engine capacity and rear wheel drive..... Sounds pretty fair to me..........
  19. Love to come down for this but am going to Warwick for the Warwick weekender VW drag meet and show and shine. My mates that I crew for won the top 8 shootout last year so we are back to defend the title. I might even be lucky enough to get a drive in chopped top beetle drag car which I also crew for. Can't wait!!!
  20. Clean your car Azza and enter it!!! Or do a Xoom and buy everyone a Kebab!!!!
